Sunday Competition

The Irish Team event was won by the team of Alan McDonald, Lindsay Sergeant, Alan Bill and Russell Schmitt with a score of 87 points. Second, on 79, were Sam McDonald, Ian Baxter, Max Sakiasi and Tom James and third went to Luke Wray, Greg granger and Mark Ryan on 72.

Andrew Balabka won the jackpot Mitre 10 hole, nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th and the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th. Other nearest the pins went to Luke Wray (BC Training 6th ), Mick Regterschot (Alan Bill Electrical 7th ) Ken Wray (Worker Club 8th ), and Max Sakiasi Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th ). Russell Schmitt won the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th.

Coring  will take place on Monday 14 September

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition first round last week saw Ian Baxter take the lead after he scored 26 points to fend off a group on 25 and take the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week. On 25 points and in second was Tony Clewett, with Wayne Blay sitting in third. Ken Wray and Greg Maskill also each made 25 then on 23 points were Jeff Edwards, Alan McDonald and Ray Turner.

For the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition players can play in either the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole or the Sunday competition (if it has a stableford or stroke  round). Run over 6 weeks it will count your best 12 hole round for the week and add your best 4 weeks out of the six weeks. First, second and third prizes are up for grabs.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore won the stroke event last week for the Ladies with a gross score of 94. Georgina Cook won Division 1 of the nett on 76 and Beryl Gray took division 2 with 77.  Putting prizes went to Di Schmitt (div 1)  and Beryl Gray (div 2) both with 29 putts.  Barbara Miller 78 and France Miners 80 were in the rundown. No Ladies comp for Sept 14 due to coring.

Sam McDonald won the Stableford event on Sunday after a countback over Max Sakiasi after both finished on 36 points. Sam also won the nearest the pin on the Alan Bill Electrical 7th and Max won the Mitre 10 Jackpot hole and the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin 9th. The rundown included Tom James 34, Ian Baxter 32, Simon Jiang 31 and Alan McDonald and Ken Wray on 29 after countback. Alan McDonald also won the Mystery Holes for September for his 8 points on the Jeremy Ryan Plumbing 4th , The Agency 15th , and Argyle Cleaning 17th holes.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Doug Stevens won on countback over Scott Berg with both finishing on 27 points last week. Greg Maskill finished with 25, Stephen Rigby 23, Luke Wray 23, Alan McDonald 23 and Ian Baxter finished the rundown on 22.

The Kevin Allen Consistency Competition is underway for 2026. Players can play in either the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole or the Sunday competition (if it has a stableford or stroke  round). Ratna Rankmore, Beryl Gray and Barbara Miller won the ladies ambrose event on Monday with nett 62.83  and also taking the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th .

Balls went to the next best team of Frances Miners and Georgina Cook on 74.75 nett.

Sunday Competition

Andrew Balabka won the A Grade Monthly Medal and Stroke event for August with nett 64 along with the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole. Max Sakiasi scored nett 68 for the B Grade and was nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th. Tony Clewett won the C grade with 69 nett. The ball rundown included Ian Baxter 69 (drive and pitch Lee and Thomas 13th ) , Greg Granger 70 (drive and pitch Carpet Court 16th), Ken Wray 70, Simon Jian (nearest the pin , Sam McDonald and Ray Turner (n.t p Alan Bill Electrical 7th and Workers Club 8th) all had 71.

Chris Ryan was nearest the pin for the BC Training 6th,

Sunday September 6 is a single stableford for Father’s day.

The AGM saw the following committee positions filled for the next year: Chris Ryan – President, Chris Toole – Vice President, Dean Horne – Secretary, Brett Buckley – Treasurer, Fran Miners, Luke Wray, Georgina Cook – committee.

Doug Stevens and Dean Horne proved too good for the rest of the field returning a 64.5 nett in the 2 person ambrose on Sunday. Second place went to the team of Mark Alamango and Tom James on countback over Ken Wray and Don Grimston and Glenn Baxter and Simon Jiang after the three teams finished on 65.25.  Finishing the rundown were Charlie Weston and Brock Caffyn on 65.75.

The Mitre 10 jackpot hole was won by Tom James and Nearest the pins went to Dean Horne (BC Training 6th ), Alan McDonald ( Alan Bill Electrical 7th), Luke Wray (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th), Max Sakiasi (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th). Luke Wray and Tony McLaughlin teamed up to score 42 points to win the Stableford best ball event on Sunday. Tony also backed up with Ian Baxter to finish 2nd on 41. Next best were Russell Schmitt and Alan Bill 40, Mick Regterschot/ Andrew Balabka 40, and finishing the rundown Roly Wong and Greg Granger.

Max Sakiasa won the jackpot Mitre 10 hole and the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch (13th) while Tom James won the nearest the pin on BC Training 6th and the Carpet Court drive and pitch. Ken Wray led the way on Sunday with 38 points in the stableford event. Doug Stevens took second on 37 followed by Ray Turner and Russell Schmitt each with 36. Dean Horne had 35, Alan Bill 34 and Alan McDonald had 33 for the rundown.

Chris Ryan won the Mitre 10 jackpot home nearest the along with drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th. The Bowmaker event saw the team of Sam McDonald/ Tom James/ Ian Baxter and Tony McLaughlin take a win with 119 points. Second place went to Brock Caffyn/ Doug Stevens/ Dean Horne/ Greg Granger on 116. The rundown went to Tony Clewett/Ken Wray/ Ian Peterson/ Don Grimston with 105 and Russell Schmitt/ Alan Bill/ Alan McDonald/ Lindsay Sergeant on 100.

The Mitre 10 jackpot was won by Greg Ganger. Nearest the pins went to Ken Wray on the Alan Bill Electrical 7th, Tony McLaughlin took the Worker’s Club 8th and Justin Cross the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th.

Drive and Pitch for the Lee and Thomas 13 was won by Max Sakiasi and Tom Heath won the Carpet Court 16th.

Nearest the pin team for the Mitre 10 hole was Ratna and Frances. Ball rundown went to Georgina Cook and Lil Ryan 73 and Di Schmitt and Gail Kennerley 74.5.

Sunday Competition

Ian Peterson had a “winning day” on Sunday as his 64 nett took the Stroke event on countback and  the B grade monthly Medal for July along with the nearest the pins for the Worker’s Club 8th and Goulburn Soldier’s Club 9th holes. Ray Turner won the A grade medal with 64 nett and was nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th. Alan McDonald had nett 70 for the C grade medal.

The ball rundown included Tony McLaughliun 67, Mitch Cook 69, Russell Schmitt, Dean Horne, Mick Gray and Kerry Bensley all on 70, and Doug Stevens on 71 on countback.

The stableford 1,2,3 best ball event was won by the team of Luke Wray, Dean Horne, Doug Stevensand Tony McLaughlin with 82 points. Dean also won the nearest the pin on the BC Training 6th and took the jackpot on the Mitre 10 5th holes, while Tony was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th.

Second place went to Tom Heath, Jeremy Harrison , Chris Ryan and Ray Turner with 80 points. Chris was nearest the pin on the Alan Bill Electrical 7th and Ray won the drive and pitch for the Carpet Court 16th.

The rundown included the team of Alan Bill, Alan McDonald, Lindsay Sergeant and Russell Schmitt on 75.

Ken Wray stepped onto the winner’s podium with 35 point in Sunday’s stableford event. Chris Ryan came in with 34 points and also won the Mystery Holes for July getting 6 points on the CL Concrete 10th, The Agency 15th and Scott Reid Plumbing 18th holes, and the was closest to the pin for the Mitre 10 hole Jackpot.

Tony Clewett also had 34 points, Tony McLaughlin had 31 and won the nearest the pins on the Goulburn Soldiers Club holes of both the 9th and 14th, and Dean Horne finished the rundown on 31.

Ian Peterson won the Lee and Thomas 13th hole drive and pitch.

The Stroke and putting competition last Monday was won by Ratna Rankmore with a gross round of 103. Division 1 was won by Georgina Cook 78 while Gail Kennerley took division 2 with 72. The rundown included Barbara Miller 77 and Maxine Mclaughlin 84. Putting prizes went to  Ratna with 32 and Gail 31.
