Sunday Competition

Trent Cooper has taken out the A Grade title for the Tully Park Championships with final rounds of 68,68 for a total of 287. B Grade went to Josh Cooper on 346 after his final rounds of 79 and 85 while C grade went to Tom Minney after his finish of 87 and 97. Nett prizes went to John Smith A Grade (287), Ken Wray B Grade (279) and Brynn Matthews C Grade (277). Division 1and 2 winners for Saturday were Josh Cooper (67) and Ken Wray (68) and Sunday were  Tony McLaughlin (67) and Wayne Minney (61). The October Monthly Medal went to Wayne Minney for his 61 and taking the C Grade win for the day while Trent Cooper 68 took A and Gary Handley 69 won C grade. The rundown for Saturday went to 71 and Sunday went to 71 on a 2 card countback. Nearest the pin was won by Russ Schmitt on Jewell Builders hole and drive and pitch winner was Mac Fife on Aaron’s Trees. The jackpot was not won on Mitre 10 hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Alan Bill stepped into the limelight with a win for the 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Comp at Tully last week with 28 points. Kim Fahey came in with 26 and Lindsay Sergeant had 24. The rundown also included Russ Schmitt, Roly Wong, Tony McLaughlin and Kevin Breen all on 23, Brett Buckley and Chris Spillane on 22, Wayne Pull and Chris Ryan on 21 and Jeff Edwards after a five card countback on 20.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan backed up from last week with a nett 75 for a division 1 win. Jenni Price came in best for division 2 on 80. Georgina Cook 77 and Maxine Mc Laughlin 79 were in  the rundown. Putting winners were Maxine on 28 and Jenni on 32.

Notices:  Sunday Nov 6 Stableford. Brian Mills Charity 2 Person Ambrose is on Nov 13. Be at Tully by 7.30am for tee off at 8am. Lunch included in $20/ player. We are raising funds for Wollondilly Public School and Sts Peter and Paul’s Primary School. The Bi-Rite Xmas guessing competition is on again with over $700 in prizes. Members are asked to pick up tickets to sell at the clubhouse – drawn Gala Day Dec 11. Big thanks to Luke and the volunteers for their efforts on the course after the recent flooding getting things prepared for the championships. Also thanks to Joe for his time at the clubhouse during the championships and our other clubhouse volunteers. All your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Men’s Championships continue Saturday and Sunday 29/30 October.

Sunday Competition

After 2 rounds of the club championships Trent Cooper leads A grade gross on 151, Russ Schmitt the B Grade on 174 and Tom Minney the C Grade on 171. Nett leaders for each grade are John Smith 140, Ken Wray 142 and Brynn Matthews 135.

Saturday saw John Smith take division 1 on 63 nett and Tom Minney division 2 on 62. The ball rundown went to 72. Sunday saw Tom Heath win division 1 with 68 nett and Tom Minney backing up well with 70 after countback. The rundown went to 75 in a 6 card countback.

The jackpot on the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole was not won, Tony McLaughlin Jewell Builders nearest the pin while Tom Minney won the D.One Accounting drive and pitch.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Tony McLaughlin held on to win the 2022 Kevin Allen Consistency Competition with a total of 102. Marty Smith was right on his heels for second on 101 and Max Sakiasi took third with 95. Thanks to all who took part over the past six weeks and especially to Val Allen for her continued sponsorship.

Eddie Hawkins put it all together at the end of the consistency comp to come in with 28 points and win the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole comp. Tony McLaughlin was next best with 27and Marty Smith followed him on 25.The rundown included James Wilson and Ben Pearson each with 24, Max Sakiasi, Bryan Norris, Roly Wong, Brett Buckley and Greg Maskill all on 23, Julia Hearne and Russell Lieschke on 22 and Wayne Minney 21 in a five card countback.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan won division 1 and Jenni Price took div 2 both with 33 points for the stableford competition. Heather also won the mystery holes for Ginny’s Building and Carpentry, Mandy’s Restaurant and ARW holes with 8 points. The ball rundown included Georgina Cook 32 and Ruth Beveridge 27.

Sunday Competition

In the wet conditions it was Chris Ryan who proved victorious with 35 points after a countback win over Russell Schmitt. Gary Spence , Wayne Minney and Tom Heath each had 34 followed by Trent Cooper and Roly Wong on 33 and then Glenn Baxter and Russell Lieschke 32.

Ray Turner took the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole, Eddie Sivell was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole and Gary Spence won the drive and pitch for Lee and Thomas.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Liam Harmer came in first last week with 26 points ahead of a sodden field with Max Sakiasi on 23. The rundown also included Mark Berrisford 22, Mick Gray, Darrell Spence and Tony McLaughlin all on 21.

After 5 weeks of the Kevin Allen Consistency  Comp, Tony McLaughlin has kept his place at the top of the field with 98, Marty Smith and Max Sakiasi are tied for 2nd on 95. Now into our final week the latest results will be important.

Ladies

Tully Ladies enjoyed a day of rest on Monday after last weekend’s deluge.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Marty Smith made it back to back wins with 25 points last week after a countback with Jason Puckett. Wayne Minney and Josh Cooper both had 24 followed by Brett Buckley, Wayne Pull and Tony McLaughlin all on 23. The rundown went to 21.

After 4 weeks of the Kevin Allen Consistency  Comp, Tony McLaughlin has kept his place at the top of the field with 98, Marty Smith moved into second on 95 and Max Sakiasi holds third with 93. There is still room to move for several players to challenge the leaders in the final 2 weeks.

Ladies

Beryl Howe was the star performer in the wet conditions at Tully on Monday with 30 points in the stableford event to win division 2. Ratna Rankmore took division 1 with 25 with the rundown including Jenni Price 28, Di Schmitt 25, Beryl Gray 24 and Frances Miners 23. Di Schmitt also won the mystery holes on the Goulburn Solar, Mitre 10 and D One Accounting holes.

Sunday Competition

Andrew Balabka played the wet course conditions well on Sunday to finish with 35 points for the stableford win. Eddie Sivell put his game together for 34 points, Roly Wong had 33 and Wayne Minney 31 for the rundown. The Priceline Pharmacy jackpot did not go off, Russ Schmitt was nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole and Roly Wong won Ginny’s Building and Carpentry drive and pitch.

Club Championships commence Oct 22/23 and finish Oct 29/30. Saturdays are tee all day (organise your own groups) Sundays are tee up to 8.30am.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Marty Smith headed up the 12 hole comp for Goulburn Soldiers Club last week with 27 points. Wayne Pull and Deane Hearne each had 26. Tom Minney scored 25 followed by Russ Schmitt, Jai Field and Max Sakiasi all on 24. The rundown went to 21 in a 5 card countback for the 39 starters.

After 3 weeks of the Kevin Allen Consistency  Comp, Tony McLaughlin has leapt to the top of the field with 75, Max Sakiasi moved into second on 72 and tied third are Frances Miners and Russ Schmitt both on 68. With 3 weeks remaining it is still an open race.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan and Ratna Rankmore tied for division 1 in the stroke choice 9 last week when both finished on 35.3. Beryl Howe won div 2 on 38.3. The rundown included Maxine McLaughlin 36.5, Georgina Cook 37 and Lil Ryan 40.3. Maxine and Lil won the putting comps for their divisions with 31 and 34 respectively.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The October round of the Slater Drafting Par 3 is on Sat Oct 8 with tee off 7.30 to 11am. Cost $7/player.

Notices:  Sunday October 9 Stableford Aggregate . The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition and has 3 more rounds to be completed as part of the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp, so check the window for details.
