Sunday Competition 29th January 2023

This week was the monthly medal stroke event with 23 starters.

 

Brynn Matthews was the outright winner with a Nett 60. Andrew Balabka closely behind with a nett 63. The ball rundown went to Gary Spence 66, Bill Reid 68, Tony Clewett and Alan McDonald 69 and Gary Handley and Ian Baxter on 70 in a 3-card countback.

 

The Jackpot hole was not won and so will jackpot next week. Nearest the Pin winner on the Mitre 10 5th hole was Greg Robertson. The Drive and Pitch was won by Ken Wray on the Lee & Thomas 13th hole.

 

Ray Turner won the raffle.

 

Next week is a 2 person Ambrose.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole mid-week competition 19th January.

A field of 52 players this week. Lil Ryan had an amazing round scoring 37 points, 8 shots clear of second place. No doubt the handicapper will hit her hard this week. Ball run down as follows: Deane Hearne and Nicole Minney 29 points, Lindsey Sergeant and Kim Fahey 28 points, Brian Larkin,  Jon Gray ,Tony Clewett, Phil Heath , Maxine MacLaughlin and James Wilson all on 26 points, Nicole Minney, Greg Maksill and Ron Nunn on 25 points, Julie Hearne, Graham Todd, Russ Lieschke and Ratna Rankmore on 24 points on a 6 card countback.

 

Good luck to our pennants team playing Yass at Belconnen.  Tully Park will be hosting pennants on 19th March. All players will need to tee off before 7.30am.

Sunday Competition 22nd  January 2023

This week was a Single Stableford competition with 23 starters.

 

Max Sakiasi was the winner the outright winner with 42 points. Peter Gurr followed closey behind with 41 points. The ball rundown went to Tom Heath and Ian Peterson on 38 points , Brynn Mathews on 37 points and Wayne Minney on 36 points in a 3 card countback.

 

The Jackpot hole Was also won by Max Sakiasi, Well done Max. Nearest the Pin winner on the Goulburn Workers 8th hole was Alan McDonald. The drive and Pitch was won by John Smith on the Aarons Trees 12th hole.

 

This week also saw the mystery holes in play and Tom Heath took that out on a countback from several others on 8 points

 

Next week is the Monthly Medal.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole mid-week competition 19th January.

Afield of 40 players this week. Russ Schmitt took out the competition with 29 points. The ball run down was as follows: E. Anning and J Blair 28 points, J PriceM McDonald and G. Todd on 27 points, I Baxter and T. McLaughlin on 25 points, T. Clewett and R. Lieschke on 24 points, S Rigby B Gray and J Edwards on 23 points and D Robertson on 22 points in a 4 card countback.

G. Todd also cleared the Eagles Nest.

Sunday Competition 15th January 2023

This week was a 4BBB Stableford competition with 31 starters.

 

Wayne and Nicole Minney took out top spot with 47 points. Nicole had a great individual round with 43 points. The ball run down went to Russ Schmitt and Alan Bill, Russ Lieschke and Ed Hawkins on 46 points, Tony Clewett and Ken Wray on 45 points and Andrew Balabka and Mitch Cook on 44 points

 

The Jackpot hole had no winner and jackpots next week. Nearest the Pin winner on the Alan Bill Electrical 7th hole was Kerry Bensley. The drive and Pitch was won by Bill Reid on the Ginny’s Carpentry 1st  hole.

 

Next week is a Single Stableford.

Another big field of 56 players this week. Alan McDonald took out the competition with 31 points. The ball run down was as follows: Francis Miners, Beryl Gray 29 points, Kim Fahey, Eddie Hawkins 28 points, Jenni Price 27 points, Eddie Sivell, Don Grimston. Nicole Minney twice, Garry Hundley, Ron Nunn 26points, John Gray, Kim Fahey, A. Finlaison, Phil Heath, Maxine McLAughlin 25 Points and Don Pennay Ian Baxter 24 points on a 4 card countback.

Par 3 Competition 14th January

The Slater drafting Par 3 Winner was Marley Buckley on 25 on a 3 countback. The ball rundown went to Graham Mansfield 25, Jason Slater 27, Maxine McLaughlin 28 on a 3 card countback.

 

Please note the course will be closed until 1.00pm this Thursday 19th January for the Vets competition.

Sunday Competition

Chris Ryan won the B Grade monthly medal and stroke event with nett 60 on Sunday with a 34 player field.  Brett Buckley took A Grade with nett 65 and Darrell Spence took C grade with nett 67. Ken Wray won second place for his 64 while the rundown included Ian Peterson 67, James Wilson 67, Tom Minney 67, Don Grimston 68, Bill Reid 68, Tom Heath 69 and John Smith 69 after a 5 card countback.

Nearest the pin on the Priceline Pharmacy 2nd and the drive and pitch on Carpet Court 16th both went to Chris Ryan while Roly Wong won the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Kerry Bensley had a return to form scoring 30 points for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event. In a 52 strong field Greg maskill was next on 29, Lil Ryan had 28, Andrew Finlaison 28 followed by Brian Larkin, Darrell Spence, Tom Minney and Don Grimston all on 27. The rundown went to 24.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The first Par 3 for 2023 is on this Saturday with tee off from 7.30am to 11am. Cost is only $7/ player

Notices:  Sunday Jan 16 Stableford 4BBB. Please note that Tully is hosting the Southern Highlands Veterans on Thursday Jan 19 so the course will be closed until 1pm to all other play.

Sunday Competition 1st January 2023

The first competition for the year saw 17 starters compete in a single stableford competition. The win being awarded to the best score for their best 9 holes.

Don Grimston took out the prize with 26 points. The ball run down went to Ian Baxter on 25 points and Ron Nunn and Lindsay Sergeant on 24 points.

The Jackpot hole winner was Ian Baxter on the Alan Bill Electrical 7th. Nearest the Pin winner was Russ Lieschke on the Goulburn Soldiers 14th hole. The drive and Pitch was won by Gary Spence on the D.One Accounting 11th hole.

 

Next week is the December Monthly Medal Round.

Another big field of 46 players this week. The ladies dominated this week coming in the first three places with Fran Miners taking the competition out with a strong 32 points. Ball run down was as follows: 30 points –  Jenni Price, Di Schmitt, 28 – points Greg Maksill, 27 points – Jon Gegg, Russ Lieschke, Brian Larkin, Roly Wong, 26 points – Maxin McLAughlin, Rantna Rankmore, Tom Minney, Andrew Balabka, Max Sakiasi, and on a 7 card countback on 25 points Andrew Finlaison and Don Grimston.
