Tully Park Golf 27/10/2019

Sunday Competition

At the conclusion of the major championships Trent Cooper has taken top honours for the A grade champion with a gross of 309. Gary Spence was A grade nett winner with 270 an excellent and consistent 4 rounds. B grade winners were Don Grimston 352 and Tom James 278 (c/b), and the C grade went to Tony Clewett 379 and Ned Slater 282 for the gross and nett respectively.

Round 3 winners were : Jeremy Harrison (Div 1) 69, Josh Cooper (div 2) 65, Simon Jiang (div 3) 67 c/b with a rundown to 69, and Round 4 winners were John Smith (68), Mark Berrisford (65) and Tom James (65) with a rundown 69 on countback. Drive and Pitch was won by Russell Lieschke on Aarons Trees 12th and the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin on the 14th was won by Russell Schmitt. The October monthly medal for A grade was won by Mark Berrisford (63), the B grade by Tom James (65) and the C Grade by Ryan Saville (66). The gold medal play-off is Nov 24 and a list of qualifiers will be in the window next weekend.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Beryl Gray took top honours last week for her 28 point round in a week where the ladies showed their mettle. Joy Leary along with Mark Berrisford and Peter Webster all made 27, Judy Moran Stephen Rigby and Kevin Breen 26 and Ned Slater, Margaret Gibson and Mick Gordon had 24 in a rundown to 22 on countback.

Ladies

The Monday ladies saw Joy Leary take division 1 with 69 nett and Beryl Howe division 2 on 71 nett for the stroke event. The rundown included Di Schmitt 73 and Beryl Gray 74.

Juniors

Juniors return this Saturday Nov 2 from 8.30 to 10am.

Notices: Sunday Nov 3 stableford multiplier. Coming up on Nov 17 is the annual Goulburn and District Prostate Cancer Support Group Charity Day with proceeds this year also going to St Joseph’s and Goulburn West Primary Schools. Thank you to the volunteers for the efforts with the course in these trying conditions.

Sunday Competition

The major championships are underway with some great rounds in the terribly windy conditions on Saturday leading to winner of division 1,2 and 3 being Ray Turner nett 70 on countback, Gary Spence Nett 67 and Tom James nett 67 respectively. Sunday saw Trent Cooper take division 1 honours with nett 67, Gary Spence backed up with 64 for division 2 and Simon Jiang took division 3 on countback with 66. The nearest the pin on 5th hole was won by Russell Schmitt with the Millenium Windows drive and pitch on the 1st going begging. Congratulations to Ned Slater who took the eagles nest with a long distance shot into the hole for his second on the Gordon Hotel 11th. A full list of results is in the clubhouse window with the overall leaders in the A, B and c grades. Rounds 3 and 4 continue this weekend.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

The final round of the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition has seen Darryn Davis leap to the front on 109 points to take the 1st prize voucher followed by the 5 week leader, Alan Bill, on 108 and creeping into 3rd is Tully junior Ned Slater on 105. Congratulations to these players on holding their nerve for the 6 week competition. Big thanks to Val Allen for her continued support.

The Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp was won last week by Brian Larkin on 30 with Tom James, Ned Slater, and Darryn Davis all next on 27. For the field of 37 the rundown went to 25.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore kept her good form last week finishing with nett 67 to take division 1 while Di Schmitt also finished on 67 for a division 2 win. The rundown included Joy Leary 70 and Heather Buchanan on 71.

Juniors

Juniors will now break during the championships and return on Saturday Nov 2 from 8.30 to 10am.

Coming up on Nov 17 is the annual Goulburn and District Prostate Cancer Support Group Charity Day with proceeds this year also going to some selected local Primary Schools. Sunday Competition

Ian Peterson and Chris Webb mad a formidable team on Sunday on their way to 47 points in the 4 ball best ball event. Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins finished the day with 45, Tom James and Jeremy Harrison 44 and Phil and Chris Elliott had 43 for the rundown.

Alan Bill was nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th and Eddie Hawkins took the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch on the 13th.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Round 5 of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition has seen a challenge at the top of the field after another 40 players contested last weeks round. Alan Bill still holds the lead on 105 after failing to outperform his best four rounds. Ryan Saville is tentatively holding second on 103 and now Darryn Davis has crept his way into the top section after a win for his 29 points in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition as he is tied with Ned Slater in third on 102. This final week could prove important with the Championships due to start soon.

The rest of the rundown for the 12 holes comp included: Wayne James 28, Trent Cooper 27 and Michael McPake both on 27, followed by Greg Maskill, John Peterson, Russell Schmitt and Ryan Wilson all on 26. The rundown went to 22 on countback.  

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore took division 1 with 34 points last Monday and Berryl Gray won division 2 with 27. The rundown included Sharon Scott on 29 and Joy Leary 29.

Par 3

Elsey Slater is going from strength to strength, returning a nett 21 on Saturday to win the Par 3 event.

Juniors

Well done to Ned Slater finishing 5th at Gungahlin Lakes and 3rd at Yowani in the week of golf in the ACT Monaro junior competition. This left him 3rd overall in his division. Juniors will now break during the championships and return on Saturday 2 from 8.30 to 10am.

Sunday Competition

Brett Cooper stole the show with a 44 point round on Sunday winning the stableford event and taking the Gordon Hotel drive and pitch on the 11th. Phil Elliott on started well with an eagle on the first on his way to 41 points. Russell Schmitt made 39, Chris Elliott 37 and John Smith 36 for the rundown. Alan Bill took the Capital country Plumbing 7th nearest the pin.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Round 4 of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition has seen another solid field of over 40 players trying to get an edge for the top spot. Alan Bill stayed strong with 27 to take the lead on 105 over Ryan Saville on 103 and Ned Slater on 102. Others are not far behind and still have a chance to improve on their best rounds in these final 2 weeks.

Darryn Davis took the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week after a countback with Jeanelle Slater and Alan Bill when all finished on 27. Wayne James played solid for 26 and Ryan Saville finished on 25. The ball rundown went to 22 on countback.

Ladies

Georgina Cook backed up from last weeks win with 34 points to win division 1 in the stableford event and the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th. Beryl Howe took out division 2 with 39 points. The rundown included Elsey Slater on 37, Ratna Rankmore 33 and Heather Buchanan on 33.

Par 3

The October Par 3 is on this Saturday Oct 12 from 7.30am to 12pm. Cost is only $7/player. It is a great way to have a hit at golf and try it out for the newcomers and to sharpen your skills if you are a keen golfing tragic.
