Sunday Competition

Alan McDonald took the C Grade medal on his way to a countback win in the stroke monthly medal event on Sunday.  Russ Schmitt won B grade after both finished on 67 nett while Ray Turner won the A grade with nett 70 after a countback. Tony Clewett 68, Phil Elliott 69, Jeremy Harrison 70, Max Sakiasi 70, Bill Reid 71 and Russell Lieschke 71 were in the rundown after a countback. Mick Regterschot took the Capital Country Plumbing nearest the pin on the 7th and John Smith won the Lee and Thomas Drive and pitch on the 13th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

The Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition is back up and running with the majority of the trees destined to go at Tully now removed.

Ladies

Elsey Slater scored 32 points last week to win the stableford event. Ratna Rankmore had 31 and Beryl Gray 26 for the rundown. Georgina Cook was nearest the pin on Soldiers Club 14th.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The June Par 3 event is on this Saturday with tee off from 7.30am to 12pm.

K & N Peterson matchplay

Round 3 is underway with matches due to be played by June 10.

Sunday Competition

Glorious conditions made for a great day for 76 starters in the 2 Person Ambrose at Tully. Winning teams were Grant Mooney/ Bill Reid 59 (mens) and Tim Chesterton/ Mark Skelly 62.75 (mixed). Second place getters were Trent Cooper/ Jon Gegg 60.25 (mens) and Bett Buckley/ Josh Buckley 63 (Mixed) and third were Lachlan Bill/ Mick Regterschot 60.5 and Ian Peterson/ Corey Peterson 63. The rundown went to 67.5Nearest the pins for Mitre 10 hole John Smith (mens) and Goulburn Soldiers Club hole Trent Cooper (mens) and Coresy Peterson (Mixed). Alternate pitch shot winner was Russell Lieschke.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Elsey Slater came home strong to win on a countback over Greg Maskill after both finished their rounds with 28 points last week. The field of 43 included Russ Schmitt, Joy Leary and John Smith each on 27 then Bryan Norris, Mick Regterschot, Peter Webster, John Blair, Ian Ginn and Brett Buckley all on 23. Mark Berrisford and Mick Gordon both had 22 and finished the rundown in a 4 card countback.

There will no Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp this week and maybe next as the dead trees are removed from around the course. Most holes will be open but check the signs on the 1st and 4th tees to see the list of holes to play to keep safe from the tree removal.

Minor Championships

After some close totals for the grades the results are in for the 2021 Minor Championships:  A grade gross winner was Trent Cooper on 146, B grade Russ Schmitt 164, C Grade Bill Reid 187 and Ladies Di Schmitt 195. Nett winners were Mark Berrisford 135 (A), Sam McDonald 133 (B), Tim Elliott ( C) and Ladies Elsey Slater 136. The final round winners were Div 1 Russ Schmitt 40.3, Div 2 Sam McDonald 39.3 and Ladies Elsey Slater 40.6

Ladies

Heather Buchanan was the best of the Ladies last week with a nett 71 to win the stroke event for Div 1. Beryl Gray took Div 2 honours with 78. The rundown included Ratna Rankmore 75, Di Schmitt 78 and Georgina Cook 78.   Putting for the round went to Ratna with 29 on countback and Beryl Howe on 28 for the two divisions.

Kevin Peterson matchplay

The Kevin Peterson Matchplay event is about to enter round 3 from this Friday. The updated draw is in the window and you have until June 10 to organise a time with your opponent and play the round. Please note the course changes over coming weekdays for the tree removal .

A lunch will be provided in the cost of $15/ player with over $1000 in prizes to be won on the day. Sunday Competition

Sam McDonald was back in form for 40 points on Sunday to win the Stableford event. Tom James 37 and Trent Cooper 36 were next best for the day, followed by Russell Lieschke 34, Jeremy Harrison 33 and Peter Gurr 33 after a 4 card countback. Mark Berrisford won the nearest the pin for the Workers Club 8th and Phil Elliott strung some good shots together on Ginny’s Building and Carpentry 1st for the drive and pitch. Peter Gurr also won the Mystery Holes for may on the ChemDry 10th, The Agency 15th and Argyle cleaning 17th with 9 points.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

John Smith took home the $25 voucher from Goulburn Soldiers Club with 27 points last week in the 12 hole competition. Josh Cooper returned to form with 25 with Elsey Slater and Mac Fife both on 24. On 23 were Gordon Rankmore, Trent Cooper, Mark Berrisford, Wayne Minney and Jesse Cao in a rundown that went to 21.

Minor Championships

Two rounds of the minor championships have been played with he third round underway until Thursday. Last weeks winners were Josh Cooper (Div 1) on 42.6, Wayne Minney (Div 2) 45 and Elsey Slater won the Ladies on 45.6. Current leaders are A Grade gross Trent Cooper 94 and nett Mark Berrisford 89.3, B Grade gross Josh Cooper 109 and nett a tie between josh Tom James and Peter Webster 89.6, C Grade gross and nett Bill Reid 118 and 85.3. Ladies Gross sees Di Schmitt and Nicole Minney tied on 128 and nett is Nicole on 89.3

Ladies

The Ladies stableford event div 1 was won by Georgina Cook with 32 points and Elsey Slater won Div 2 on 36. The rundown saw Di Schmitt 24, Joy Leary 24, Heather Buchanan 23 and Beryl Howe 22. Heather also won the Priceline nearest the pin on the 2nd.

The Kevin Peterson Matchplay event is about to enter round 3 from this Friday. The updated draw is in the window and you have until June 10 to organise a time with your opponent and play the round. Please note the course changes over coming weekdays for the tree removal .

Ken Wray left them in his wake on Sunday carding nett 64 in excellent playing conditions. Russell Lieschke, Ian Peterson and Lachlan Bill were next best each on 68 with josh Cooper and Chris Ryan each on 69. In a five card countback the rundown went to Brett Buckley, Kerry Bensley and Ray Turner on 70. Nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole was Tom Heath and Josh Cooper won the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Nicole Minney had a welcome return with a 28 point round to secure the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week against a tough field. Peter Webster finished with 27 followed by Gordon Rankmore, Ned Slater and Josh Lumsdon all on 26. Mick Regterschot made up the rundown with his 25 points after a 4 card countback.

Minor Championships

After the first round of the minor championships the leaders are: A grade Trent Cooper 49, B Grade Russ Schmitt and Peter Webster tied 53,  C grade Bill Reid 54 , and for the Ladies Nicole Minney and Di Schmitt tied for 60. Round 2 is now underway with round three to start on Friday May 14. All Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole players having to play off Blue (men) or Red (Ladies) for these weeks even if you are not playing in the championships.  To play a championship round costs $15/ round and only 1 round per week. Those not playing the championships pay the usual $7 (12 hole) or $10 (Sunday) fees.

Ladies

Club Medal Winners for divisions 1 and 2 were Julia Scamperle nett 65 and Ruth Beveridge nett 72 respectively. The rundown went to Di Schmitt nett 69 and Joy Leary nett 73. Both Di and Joy took the putting prizes for the round with 28 and 27 respectively.

The Kevin Peterson Matchplay event is in round 2. The updated draw is in the window and you have until May 20 to organise a time with your opponent and play the round.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Ken Frey won the May Slater Drafting par 3 with a nett 27. In the rundown were Anbarrasan Mitchell 28, and Graham Mansfield and Ross Stacey on 30.

Sunday Competition

Bill Reid put it all together on Sunday on the way to a nett 62 for the stroke win and the C grade monthly Medal. Tom James stepped up his game for 64 and the B Grade medal and Chris Ryan’s 67 gave him the A Grade medal. Also in the rundown were Ryan Saville 65, Russ Schmitt 67, Ian Peterson 67 and Mick Regterschot 67.  Nearest the Pin on the Soldiers Club 14th was Ken Wray and Mac Fife won the Aaron’s Trees 12 drive and pitch.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp

Ian Peterson stormed ahead last week with a 28 point round for the 12 holes ahead of a 43 strong field. On 26 were Mick Regterschot, Brian Larkin, Peter Webster, Chris Ryan and Elsey Slater. Ken Wray scored 25 with Trent Cooper, Stephen Rigby, Tony Fry, Jeanelle Slater and Beryl Gray all on 24 in a rundown that went to 23 on countback.

Minor Championships

Minor championships round 1 concludes is week and round 2 kicks off. It runs for 3 weeks with all Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole players having to play off Blue (men) or Red (Ladies) for these 3 weeks even if you are not playing in the championships.  To play a championship round costs $15/ round and only 1 round per week. Those not playing the championships pay the usual $7 (12 hole) or $10 (Sunday) fees.

Ladies

Beryl Gray took division 2 top spot last week for the stableford event with 36 point while Joy Leary won div 1 with 33. Ruth Beveridge 33 and Beryl Howe were both in the rundown.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The May round of the Slater Drafting Par 3 is on Sat May 8 with tee off from 7.30am to 12pm. Players of all level of golfing ability are invited to attend cost $7/player.
