Tully Park Golf 31/5/2020

Sunday Competition

Lachlan Bill rose to the occasion for the monthly medal for May to card the best round at the club in many a year with a 6 under round of 62 off the stick to claim the A Grade medal. Tom James took the B Grade with 65 and Eddie Hawkins had a countback win on 69 for the C Grade. In the rundown were Russell Schmitt 65, Ken Wray 67, Eddie Sivell 67, Tom Heath 68, followed by Ryan Saville, Ryan Wilson, Simon Jiang and Chris Ryan all on 69 and Phil Elliott on 70.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

While visiting local family members Angela Deacon managed to squeeze in a round of golf scoring 25 points and taking the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher on a countback over the field of 43. Included in the rundown were Don Grimston and Chris Ryan both on 25, Eddie Hawkins 24, Tony Clewett and Lachlan Bill 23, and on 22 Gordon Rankmore, Lindsay Sergeant, Malcolm Young and Alan McDonald. Completing the rundown on countback were Don Pennay, Brian Larkin, Di Schmitt and first time competitor Max Sakaisi all on 21.

Ladies

The Tully Ladies played a stableford event on Monday and in a tough scoring round the division winners were Di Schmitt for div 1 and Beryl Gray in div 2 both with 29 points. June Spillane and Ruth Beveridge both made 28 and Beryl Gray was nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole.

Sunday Competition

Alan Bill won the stableford event on Sunday with a faultless round of 40 points leaving the field behind. On 35 were Chris Ryan, Tom Heath, Russell Schmitt, John Smith, Ryan Saville, Ray Turner and Eddie Sivell. The rundown went to 33 on countback with Anthony Cooper, Mac Fife and Lachlan Bill receiving balls.

Mystery holes on the Merino Fuels 3rd, Argyle Cleaning 17th and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th was won by Trent Cooper with 7 points.

Change to the program: A 4 person Ambrose will now be played on Sunday June 14 (in place of the stroke event) so organise your teams. Cost is $10/ player with tee off between 7am and 8.30am. Open to all G.A handicapped players.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Mark Berrisford won last week’s $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher with 27 points. Ron Nunn and Malcolm Young both finished with 26 points each followed by Alan Bill, Wayne Brown, Nicole Minney, Sam McDonald and Di Schmitt all on 25. Alan McDonald, John Blair, Eddie Sivell and Rob Scott had 24 in a rundown that went to 23 on countback.

Ladies

Division 1 in the stroke event last Monday was won by Di Schmitt with nett 67 while division 2 was won by the in form Beryl Gray with 72. The rundown included Rheannah Webb 73, June Spillane 74, Heather Buchanan 74 and Ratna Rankmore 75. Putting was won for the two divisions by June Spillane and Beryl Gray both with 30.

Sunday Competition

The team of Alan and Lachlan Bill won the 4 ball stableford aggregate on Sunday after a countback with Tom Heath and Chris Ryan when both teams finished on 73 points. Trent Cooper and Sam McDonald finished with 71, Ryan Saville and Ryan Wilson 70 followed by Garry Handley and Darrell Spence 68, Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins 66 and Wayne and Nicole Minney 65.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Please note that the 12 hole comp is back to white markers for another year.

Gordon Rankmore managed to top the field of 47 on a countback over Tony Clewett last week after both finished on 28 points. Malcolm Young and Beryl Gray both scored 27 while Mick Gordon and Ron Wenban both had 26. Ron Nunn, Simon Jiang and Ryan Wilson each had 24 in a rundown that finished on 23.

Minor Championships

Lachlan Bill with 141 has taken out the A Grade Gross title for the 2020 minor Championships while Rheannah Webb has taken out the Ladies Gross title on 194. B Grade was won, after a countback, by Sam McDonald on 166 and the C Grade winner was Mac Fife on 170. Nett winners for each grade were Ray Turner (A grade) on 136, Simon Jiang (B) on 133.3, Wayne Minney (C )on 121.3 and Beryl Gray (Ladies) on 134.6.

Round 3 nett winners were Beryl Gray (ladies) on 41.6, Ken Wray Div 1 on 42.6 and Wayne Minney div 2 on 38.3.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan scored 36 points in the Ladies stableford event last Monday with Beryl Howe next best on 32. Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was Ruth Beveridge who was also in the rundown with 31 followed by ratna rankmore 30, Beryl Gray 28 and Nicole Minney 25.

Sunday Competition

Wayne Minney had a return to old form as he carded a nett 60 to win the stroke event on Sunday. Mac Fife came in with 62 followed by Trent Cooper, Anthony Cooper and Sam McDonald all on 67. John Smith had 70 while Tom James, Ryan Wilson and Ken Wray scored 71, Ray Turner, Tom Heath and Mark Berrisford each made 72 and Phil Elliott had 73 on countback for the rundown.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Beryl Gray swept the field of 48 aside to win with 25 points last week. Ron Nunn hotly contested the top honours but fell short by 1 to score 24. John Smith made 23 ahead of Mark Berrisford, Mick Gordon, Wayne James, Ian Ginn, and Stephen Rigby all on 22. Jeremy Ryan had a return to competition with 21 followed by Alan McDonald on 20 with the rundown going to 19 on countback.

Minor Championships

After 2 rounds of the minor championships it is Lachlan Bill leading the A grade gross on 97 with Chris Elliott 108 leading the B, Mac Fife and Wayne Minney both on 117 tied for the lead in C grade and Julia Scamperle 112 for the ladies division. Nett leaders in each division are Ray Turner 90.67, Chris Elliott 88.67, Wayne Minney 83, and Beryl Gray 93. The round 2 winners were (A) Ray Turner 45.3, (B) Wayne Minney 41.3 and (Ladies) Beryl Gray 43.67. Round 3 concludes the minors this Thursday afternoon so from Friday all 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Club players are back to the white markers.

Par 3

Nicole Minney took the honours after a countback win over Beryl Gray when both finished on nett 23. Chris Webb, Ratna Rankmore, Ross Stacey and Jeanelle Slater all featured in the rundown on 25 on countback.

Ladies

Last Monday the ladies played a stroke event with putting prizes and Julia Scamperle won div 1 on countback over Rheannah Webb when both made 76 nett. Di Schmitt won div 2 with 83 nett. Putting winners were Julia Scamperle 29 and Di Schmitt 31. The rundown included Rheannah Webb 76, Heather Buchanan 79, Joy Leary 83 and Ratna Rankmore 83.

Sunday Competition

Wayne Minney scored 37 points on Sunday to win the stableford event. Alan McDonald, Royce Dockett and Mac Fife all made 35 followed by Anthony Cooper, Ray Turner, Sam McDonald and Ryan Saville each had 34 and Tom Heath 33, Ken Wray 33, Lachlan Bill 32 and Trent Cooper 32 made up the rundown.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Ron Nunn turned his game around from recent efforts to score 28 points over the 12 holes to win the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher from the field of 45 players. Gordon Rankmore made 27 followed by, on 25 points, Brian Larkin, Malcolm Young, Trent Cooper, Garry Handley and Wayne Minney. Making up the rundown were the players on 23; Ian Ginn, Stan Geale, Nicole Minney, Elsey Slater, Josh Cooper, Don Pennay, Di Schmitt and Eddie Hawkins.

Minor Championships

The first round of the minor championships has been played and the Division 1 mens winner was Chris Elliott with nett 43, while division 2 winner was Gordon Rankmore with nett 39.66. The Ladies winner was Tully Junior Elsey Slater with 45.33. The leaders after round 1 for the A, B, C and Ladies grades respectively Gross are; Lachlan Bill (45), Chris Elliott (53), Gordon Rankmore (57), Julia Scamperle (56). Nett leaders are John Smith (43.66), Chris Elliott (43), Gordon Rankmore (39.66) and Elsey Slater (45.33). Round 2 is finishes on Thursday afternoon.

Par 3

The next Slater Drafting Service Par 3 is on Saturday May 9 with tee off 7.30 to 12pm. A great way for new players to test their skills.

Ladies

Sharon Scott made 30 points to win division 1 in the ladies stableford on Monday and Beryl gray scored 32 for the division 2 win. The rundown saw Nicole Minney 31, Rheanah Webb 29, and Julia Scamperle 28 take home a ball each.
