Tully Park Golf 26/04/2026

Sunday Competition

Luke Wray returned a 6 under handicap  62 nett to win the C grade medal and the stroke event for April as well as the nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th hole. Bill Reid took the A grade medal with nett 64and the BC Training 6th hole nearest the pin.   Ian Peterson was the scored 65 for the B grade medal. In the rundown were Chris Elliott 66 (jackpot Mitre 10 hole and nearest the pin Alan Bill Electrical 7th), Alan Bill 66, Russell Schmitt 68 (drive and pitch Lee and Thomas 13th), Mac Fife 68 (drive and pitch Carpet Court 16th) Glenn Baxter 69 (Nearest the pin Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th)  and Sam McDonald and Mick Gray 69.

Sunday May 3 Round 1 of the Foursome Championships Round 2 is on May 17. Make sure your partner can make both rounds. The Kevin and Noeline Peterson  Matchplay  Event draw is in the clubhouse  with round 1 to be played by May 31.

Huge thanks to the volunteers for their work at the clubhouse and around the course. These people are the backbone of the club.

As a side note: huge thanks to the local concrete truck driver who assisted one of Tully’s members after he fell over out the front of the course. He did not get your name or company but very much appreciates the helping hand you gave while rushing to your next job.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

John Smith backed up from last week with another 28 point round to win the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event. Garry  Handley fared well with 27 followed by Wayne Blay 26, Craig Brown 25 and on 24 Don Grimston, Phil heath and Tony McLaughlin. Chris Elliott finished off the rundown on 23.

Ladies

Gail Kennerley returned an excellent nett 63 for a win in the division 1 stroke event last week. Beryl Gray also performed well for her nett 63 to take division 2 and the putting prize with 33 putts.  The rundown went to Maxine Mclaughlin 67 (and the putting for Div 1 with 27), Lil Ryan 71, Georgina Cook 73, Frances Miners 76.  This weeks round will be on Tuesday due to the Anzac day holiday on Monday.

Sunday Competition

The team of Ian Peterson, Don Grimston, Tony Clewett and Ken Wray won the 4 person ambrose on Sunday with a nett score of 53.325. Tom Heath, Chris Ryan, John Smith and Ray Turner came in second on 54.75 followed by Glenn Baxter, Simon Jiang, Tony McLaughlin and Sam McDonald on 55.75.

Ray Turner won the jackpot Mitre 10 hole with nearest the pins for the day to Luke Wray (BC Training  6th and Workers Club 8th ), Kerry Bensley (Alan Bill Electrical 7th),  Ian Peterson (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th) and Mick Gray (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th.). Drive and Pitch wins went to Tom Heath (Lee and Thomas 13th) and Glenn Baxter (Carpet Court  16th).

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

With the handicap system up and running here are the results from the last 2 weeks.

The week finishing April 8 saw Dean Horne score a win after a countback on 28 points over Tony McLaughlin and Andrew Balabka. On 27 was Mac Fife and Kim Fahey scored 26. Tony Grimston and Craig Fahey each had 25 followed by Ian Baxter, Craig Brown and Phil Heath all on 24.

The week ending April 15 had John Smith lead the way on 27 with Garry Handley on 26. On 25 were Russell Schmitt, Craig Brown and Ray Turner, and on 24 Ken Wray, Tony McLaughlin and Terry Berg. Phil Heath finished the rundown on 23 after a countback..

Ladies

Georgina Cook won division 1 in the stroke event last week with nett 73, Beryl Gray was the division 2 winner with 69 nett and the putting winner with 34. Heather Buchanan won div 1 putting with 30. The ball rundown included  Frances Miners 72 and Lil Ryan 74.

Sunday Competition

The annual RSL versus Tully Golf event that goes back 50 years was won by the team from the RSL 375 points to 321.

Winners for the RSL team were Hamish Copland and Nick Cooley 50 points with their runners up Roger Gann and Rodney Gann 47. Tom James and Greg Granger led the way for Tully with 45 and Mick Gray and Kerry Bensley took second with 42.

The rundown went to the teams of Peter Rowlands/ Ian Toole 45, Tom Andreatta/ Corey Manning 45, Aaron Grandrovskis/ Dean Evans 43, Mal Maher/ John Wilson 42, Michael Corcoran/ Wayne Murdoch 42, Tony McLaughlin / Ian Baxter 41, Gary Spence/ Chris Elliott 40, Wayne Phelps/ Glen Swanson 39, Mark Ryan / Eddie Hawkins 38,and Roger Holgate/ Hamish Copland 38.

Nearest the pins went to Chris Elliott (8th and 15th), Rod Gann (11th) and Greg Granger (17th).  Drive and pitch went to Gary Spence (1st), Tony McLaughlin (4th), and Michael Corcoran (9th).

Thank you to Goulburn Golf Club for hosting the event. 2027 it will be at Tully Park Golf Club.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

The 12 hole competition is having some handicapping problems with the new system but we hope it will be resolved soon. The event will continue as normal and each weekly round  will be determined as soon as this is sorted. Thank you for your patience and support of the club.

Sunday Competition

Easter was kind to Tony McLaughlin as he took top honours in the stableford event with 38 points and the jackpot Mitre 10 hole. Dean Horne took second place with 37 with the rundown ball going to Eddie Sivell 35, Roly Wong 33, Ian Baxter 33, Russell Schmitt 32, Ray Turner 31 and on 30 Glenn Baxter and Ian Peterson.

The mystery holes for April was won by Roly Wong after a countback on 8 points on the Goulburn Solar 3rd, D.One Accounting 11th and Scott Reid Plumbing 18th.

Nearest the pins went to Mark Ryan (BC Training 6th and Alan Bill Electrical 7th ), Chris Ryan took the Worker’s Club 8th along with the drive and pitch for Carpet Court 16th, and Glenn Baxter took the Lee and Thomas 13th drive and pitch.

The lucky number draw was won by D Grimston. It is only $2 for a number and the next draw has begun.

Sunday April 12 is the annual  RSL v Tully 4BBB Stableford on April 12 at Goulburn Golf Club. Names are due by Wed April 8. Tee times available from 6.30am. Vouchers for 1st and 2nd teams from each side and an extensive rundown. Cost is $29per player for golf and a sausage sizzle.

The Kevin and Noeline Peterson Matchplay tournament draw will be finalised by April 6.

Greens are being cored on Tuesday April 7 so come and give a hand for a couple of hours from 7.30am.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Stephen Rigby won last week’s 12 hole competition with 24 points, closely followed by Jeff Edwards on 23. On 21 were John Smith, Scott Sherer, Ian Baxter Mal Young and Don Grimston.

The new handicapping for the midweek competition started April 1st.  Score the competition on your phone as you play. There are cards at the clubhouse if you wish to see the new indexes as you are only handicapped on the first 9 holes every 2 rounds.

Ladies

Tully Ladies played a stableford event last Monday with Gail Kennerley winning on countback from Ratna Rankmore after both scored 33 for division 1. Division 2 saw Barbara Miller score 36 points and win mystery holes with 10  points on the5th hole for  Mitre 10, Aaron’s Trees 12th and Argyle Cleaning 17th holes. The rundown for the day included Beryl Gray for her 34 .
