Tully Park Golf 6/7/25

Sunday Competition

Brynn Matthews scored 41 points for an emphatic win in the stableford event on Sunday. Max Sakiasi and Tom Heath were next best on 36 then Sam McDonald and Luke Wray both had 35. Chris Ryan , Ian Peterson and Ken Wray all had 34 for the rundown. Max Sakiasi won the mystery holes for Ginny’s Carpentry 1st, Alan Bill Electrical 7th and The Agency 15th.  The Jackpot hole went without a winner this week but will carry over, Luke Wray was nearest the pin on the Alan Bill Electrical and the tough Goulburn Soldiers Club hole also went begging.  Max Sakiasi won The Lee and Thomas drive and pitch and the Carpet Court winner was Sam McDonald.

Sunday July 13 is a 2 Person Ambrose. The AGM will be early August.

Ladies Competition

The Tully Ladies played a 3 stick and putter round last Monday with Ratna Rankmore the division 1 winner and Lil Ryan taking out division 2, both had 30 points. The rundown went to Georgina Cook 29 and Gail Kennerley 27 with Gail also winning the nearest the pin.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

After a countback Corey Willmott was the best last week over the 12 holes with 23 points just nudging Dean Horne out of the top spot. Julie Hearne put in a good performance to finish with 22 as did Sam Cosgrove.

Sunday Competition

The stroke event was won by Mac Fife on 68 after countback and also picking up the A Grade monthly medal for June. The B Grade winner was Tom Heath with 68 and Gary Handley 68 for C Grade. The rundown included Ken Wray 68, Chris Ryan, Mick Wilson and Eddie Sivell all on 70, and Max Sakiasi 71.

The nearest the pins were won by Max Sakiasi  for the Alan Bill Electrical 7th and the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th was Mick Wilson. The Jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole was won by Mick Gray.

Sunday July 6 is a single stableford event.

Ladies Competition

Last Monday’s stableford event saw2 Heather Buchanan take top honours with 36 points for division 1 and Gail Kennerley took division 2 on 33. Ball for the rundown went to Georgina Cook 35 , Lil Ryan 32 and Frances Miners 28. Ratna Rankmore won the mystery hole with 8 points on the Mitre 10, Argyle Cleaning and Alan Bill Electrical holes, 5th, 17th and 18th.

Sunday Competition

The Ambrose event was won with a nett 56.6 by Chris Toole, Jeff Burton, Ian Ginn, Greg Croker and Kirby Croker.  Teams of Brynn Matthews Sam McDonald, Max Sakiasi and Tom James   and Luke Dixon, Tony McLaughlin, Chris Lewis and Adam Rowe both finished on 59.5 and the final balls in the rundown went to Alan Bill, Alan McDonald, Lindsay Sergeant and Rusell Schmitt on 59 and 5/8.

The nearest the pins went to Glenn Baxter and Chris Toole for the Alan Bill Electrical and Goulburn Soldiers Club holes, the drive and pitch went to Alan Bill on the Lee and Thomas hole and to Luke Dixon for the Carpet Court hole.

Sunday June 29 is a stroke Monthly Medal competition.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Lindsay Sergeant held the pack at bay after a countback for his 23 points secured him the 12 hole win last week in the Goulburn Soldiers Club competition. Dean Hearne and Mick Wilson also had 23, Mick Gordon, Marty Smith and Alan McDonald all 22 and Roly Wong took the final ball in the rundown with 21.

Ladies Competition

Ratna Rankmore won the division 1 stoke event on Monday last week with nett 74. Frances Miners won division 2 also with 74. Heather Buchanan won the Div 1 putting comp and made the ball rundown with 33 putts and nett 75.Gail Kennerley won Div 2 putting with 32 on countback. Maxine McLauchlin and Gail both had 76 nett to also be in the rundown for the day.

Sunday June 22 is a 4 Person Ambrose so get your teams ready.

Tom James and Sam McDonald teamed up and scored 67 points to win the 4 Ball Aggregate on Sunday, ahead of Mitch Cook/ Mac Fife 64, Ray Turner/ Chris Elliott 62, Alan McDonald/ Lindsay Sergeant 61, Tom Heath/ Chris Ryan 58 and Ken Wray/ Don Grimston 58 for the rundown. The Jackpot Mitre 10 hole and Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th were won by Luke Dixon, Eddie Sivell won the nearest the pin for Alan Bill Electrical, Mac Fife and Mitch Cook took the Lee and Thomas and Carpet Court drive and pitch wins respectively.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

The winner, on countback, for last week’s Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition was Greg Maskill. John Smith also had 24 followed closely by Brynn Matthews, Kerry Bensley and Lindsay Sergeant all on 23. Chris Ryan, Kim Fahey, Dean Horne and Ken Wray each had 22 and Doug Stevens 21 on countback took the final ball.

Ladies Competition

Georgina Cook took division 1 for the stableford event with 25 points on a countback over the in form Maxine McLaughlin who won the nearest the pin for the day. Division 2 went to Lil Ryan on 24 points. The rundown included Maxine, Ruth Beveridge 20 and Frances Miners 23.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Maxine McLaughlin showed the rest of the field how to play with another 28 point round for the 12 holes. Next best was Phil Heath 25, followed close behind by Jeff Edwards and Hayden Ward on 24. John  Smith  and Tony McLaughlin both had 23, and the final balls in the rundown went to Darryl Robertson and Dave King both with 22.

Ladies Competition

Georgina Cook was the division 1 winner for the stroke round with nett 74 while division 2 was taken out by Gail Kennerley on 75 nett. The ball rundown went to Maxine Mclaughlin 78 and Heather Buchanan 79. Putting prizes went to Heather Buchanan with 30 and Gail Kennerley 33. The Ladies round for next week will be on Tuesday after the long weekend.

Sunday Competition

Bad weather and cold winds caused a cancellation of the competition for the Sunday players.

Next Sunday June 15 is a 4Ball Aggregate.

Sunday Competition

The 2 person Ambrose event was won by the team of Trent Cooper and Josh Cooper on 61.75 with the Social Division Craig Howard and Brent Tremble on 65. Runners up were the teams of Gary Spence/ Barbara Miller 63 and John Dillon/ James Dillon (Social) on 69.5.

Teams in the rundown were Wade Pomery/ Brynn Matthews 64.75, Chris Ryan/ Tom Heath 64.75, John Smith/ Gary Handley 65.5, Tony McLaughlin/ Max Sakiasi 65.75 and Ian Baxter/ Roly Wong 66.  Thanks to Wade Pomery for his generous donations for the day.

The nearest the pin for the Alan Bill Electrical 7th hole was won by  Wade Pomery and for the Mitre 10 jackpot hole Luke Dixon was nearest the pin. Drive and pitch for the Lee and Thomas 13th was Sam McDonald/ Greg Reid and for the Carpet Court 16th Trent Cooper/ Josh Cooper. The Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th did not go off.

Stephen Rigby led the way last week with 25 points with Kevin Breen John Smith and Malcolm Young all hot on his heels on 23 points. Ken Wray scored 22 and Tony McLaughlin had 21 on countback for the final ball in the rundown.

Ladies Competition

The Tully Ladies stableford maximum 9 winners were Georgina Cook (division 1)  with 21 points and Frances Miners (Division 2) with 22 points. Frances also picked up the mystery hole win for the event with 12 points on countback. The rundown included Lil Ryan 22 and Gail Kennerly 21 points.

Get your teams ready for the 2 Person Social Ambrose Competition on June 1. Cost is $12/ player. Tee off 6.30am to 8am. So turn up and bring some mates to play. No handicap- we’ll sort it out for you.

The May monthly medal round saw Eddie Sivell score a nett 68 for the B Grade medal and win the stroke event on a countback from Brynn Matthews who won the C grade medal. Andrew Balabka was the A grade winner on 69. The rundown included Luke Wray, Ian Baxter Russell Schmitt and Mick Gray all on 71, Kerry Bensley and Simon Jian both on 72 and on 74 Mitch Cook, Max Sakiasi and Ian Peterson.

The nearest the pin for the Alan Bill Electrical 7th hole was won by  Justin Cross and for the Mitre 10 jackpot hole Max Sakiasi was nearest the pin. Drive and pitch for the Lee and Thomas 13th was Roly Wong  and for the Carpet Court 16th Mick Gray.  The Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th did not go off.

Maxine McLaughlin set a high bar last week to win the 12 hole competition with 28 points. Ken Wray, Eddie Sivell and Simon Jiang and John Smith each had 23, Geoff Selmes 21 and Mick Gray Kerry Bensley and Wayne Blay all had 20 points.

Ladies Competition

The stroke event was  won last Monday by Georgina Cook with 72 nett for division 1  and Frances Miners with 78 nett for division 2. Putting winners for each division on the day were Heather Buchanan 33 and Lil Ryan 38 on a countback. The rundown included Heather Buchana 75, Maxine Mclaughlin 75 and Lil Ryan 91.

Ladies Competition

Tully Ladies played their Foursome Championships over Monday and Tuesday last week with the overall winners Heather Buchanan and Gail Kennerley with 208 gross. Nett winners for the two days were Maxine Mclaughlin and Frances Miners with 149. The first round saw Ratna Rankmore and Beryl Howe team up for 71 nett and day 2 had Maxine McLaughlin and Frances Miners take honours with 71.5 nett. Also in the mix were Lil Ryan and Georgina Cook with 75 and 78 over the two days.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Competition

The feature of last week was the Hole in One on the Mitre 10 fifth by Phil Heath, but it was Ian Baxter who took win for the week with 26 points for the round. Lindsay Sergeant put in a good effort for his 25 points while on 23 were Geoff Selmes, Eddie Hawkins and Ken Wray. John Blair had 22 followed by Wayne Blay, Kevin Breen and Stephen Rigby all on 21.

Foursome Championships

The 2025 Foursome Gross champions are the team of Tom Heath and Chris Ryan with 165. Nett Champions are Luke Dixon and Chris Lewis on 141.5.

The round 2 winners were Dean Horne and Doug Stevens 71 with the rundown Chris Ryan / Tom Heath 72, Roly Wong /Wade Pommery 72 Chris Elliott / Luke Wray 75.

Glenn Baxter won the mystery holes on the Goulburn Solar 3rd, Worker Club 8th and Argyle Cleaning 17th where he had 8 points. The nearest the pin for the Alan Bill Electrical 7th hole was won by  John Smith and for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th Ray Turner took the honours. Drive and pitch for the Lee and Thomas 13th was Glenn Baxter   and for the Carpet Court 16th Rusell Schmitt came in closest.

Sunday May 18 is round 2 of the foursome championships. Teams can still enter for the this round even if they missed the first one.

Maxine McLaughlin was the division 1 winner last Monday with 74 nett while also winning the putting with 31and Frances Miners won division 2 with 72 nett. The division 2 putting winner was Beryl Gray with 32. The rundown included Georgina Cook 75, Heather Buchanan 76, Gail Kennerley 79 and Beryl Gray 80. The Mother’s day trophies went to Georgina Cook and Gail Kennerley for div 1 and 2 respectively.

Leaders for Foursome Championship Gross are tied between the teams of Luke Dixon/ Chris Lewis and Tom Heath/ Chris Ryan after both finished on 81 on Sunday.

Luke Dixon and Chris Lewis have the Nett lead after round 1 with a nett 66. Chris Ryan and Tom Heath were next best in with 69.5 then Ken Wray and Ian Peterson 73.5 and Lindsay Sergeant and Alan McDonald on 75.

The Jackpot Mitre 10 hole was won by Wade Pomery, nearest the pin on the Alan Bill Electrical was Luke Dixon, while Justin Cross won it for the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole. The drive and pitch was a team effort by Luke Dixon and Chris Lewis.

Kevin Breen took the honours last week with 24 points over the 12 holes. Luke Wray put in a good effort for 23 with Ian Baxter hitting his stride with 21. Conway Bogg had 20, Tony McLaughlin 19 and Ken Wray took the final ball on 18 after a countback.

The Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition is great to get a quick round of golf and can be played any day of the week. Cost is only $10 for members and $20 for non-members.

 

Ladies Competition

Georgina Cook was the division 1 winner for the Tully Ladies last week in their stableford event with 31 points. Gail Kennerley took division 2 with 34 points. The ball rundown went to Maxine Mclaughlin 29, Lil Ryan 26 and Heather Buchanan 26 on countback. Heather also took the nearest the pin. Ladies play their rounds on Monday mornings with tee off around 8.30.
