Tully Park Golf 1/2/2026

Sunday Competition

It was tight at the top for the Stroke Monthly Medal for January held on Sunday as Tony Clewett took the overall win and the C grade medal with nett 65 over Alan McDonald who took second. Doug Stevens was next best on 67 then A grade winner Tom James 68 and Don Grimston 68. On 69 Simon Jiang earned the B Grade medal just pipping Russell Schmitt on countback then the rundown included Chris Ryan and Dean Horne each on 70 and Eddie Sivell on 72 on countback.

John Smith won the jackpot Mitre 10 hole and the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th. John Gray won both the nearest the pin on the BC Training 6th and the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th. Ian Peterson, Tom James and Chris Elliott won the nearest the pins for the Alan Bill Electrical, Worker’s Club and Goulburn Soldiers Club 7th, 8th and 9th respectively. Chris also won the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch on the 13th.

Sunday Feb 8 is a 2 Person Ambrose. Thank you to the exceptional volunteers for all of their hard work over the recent extremely hot days at keeping the course in such good condition. Both the Southern Highland Veteran Golfers and ACT Monaro Pennants players had praise for the course.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Frances Miners was the runaway winner last week with 30 points and receives a visit from the handicapper. Next best on 24 were Ian Baxter, Stephen Apps and Jeff Edwards. On 23 was Russell Schmitt followed by Lindsay Sergeant and Don Grimston on 22 after a countback.

Tully Ladies return Feb 2 to start the 2026 year.

Sunday Competition

The Maximum 9 stableford event was won by Glenn Baxter with 27 points, along the way also picking up the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole and the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th. Greg Granger was 2nd on countback with 24 over Sam McDonald.

Ken Wray, John Smith and Russell Schmitt all had 23. On 22 were Sam Cosgrove also winning the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin 14th, Ian Baxter taking the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch, Craig Hussey and Geoff Knight.

Other nearest the pins went to Alan McDonald (Alan Bill Electrical 7th), and Tom James (Worker’s Club 8th). Sam Cockburn won the drive and Pitch for the Carpet Court 16th.

Sunday Feb 1st Stroke Monthly Medal for Jan. All players are asked to tee off before 7.30 as Tully hosts the pennants for the day. No social play on Sunday Feb 1st.

Tully also host the Southern Highland Veterans golfers this Thursday Jan 29 with a shotgun start at 8.30am . Sorry, no social play until after 3pm on this day.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Tony McLaughlin pushed his way to top of the leader board last week with 26 points for the 12 holes. Maxine Mclaughlin followed closely behind with 25 then Alan McDonald and Lil Ryan each had 23. The rest of the rundown included Lindsay Sergeant 22, Ian Baxter 22, Ken Wray 21, and Mick Gordon and France Miners each with 20 in a six card countback.

Tully Ladies return Feb 2 to start the 2026 year.

Sunday Competition

Sunday’s stableford event as well as the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th was won by Geoff Knight with 38 points. Luke Wray had 36 points for second as well as the Worker’s Club 8th nearest the pin. The rundown saw Tom James score 35, Sam McDonald 34, Doug Stevens 34 Mac Fife 33, Andrew Balabka 32, Greg Granger 31 and Don Grimston 3.

Mystery holes went to Greg Granger with 7points on the Goulburn Solar 3rd, Worker’s Club 8th and D One Accounting 11th  along with the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th .

The Mitre 10 Jackpot hole and the Alan Bill Electrical 7th went to Max Sakiasi while Sam McDonald got the BC Training 6th and James Will won the Carpet Court 16th drive and pitch.

Sunday Jan 25 is a Maximum 9 Stableford.  Stroke Monthly Medal for Jan on Feb 1st.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Frances  Miners led the way with 29 points last week to take top honours in the Goulburn Soldiers club 12 hole competition.  Max McLaughlin and Lil Ryan both returned scores of  26, Tris Hensel, Sam Cockburn and Tony Clewett each had 24 and Brian Larkin took the final ball for the rundown with 23 after a 3 card countback.

Sunday Competition

Eddie Sivell and Glenn Baxter won the 4 ball best ball event on Sunday with 45 points. On 44 were the teams of Roly Wong and Chris Elliott along with Don Grimston and Ken Wray.

Max Sakiasi won the Mitre 10 jackpot hole , and nearest the pins went to  Alan McDonald (BC Training 6th), Craig Hussey (Workers Club 8th), Eddie Sivell (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th) and John Smith (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th). The drive and pitch prizes went to Ken Wray (Lee and Thomas 13th) and Tony McLaughlin (Carpet Court 16th).

Sunday Jan 18 is a Stableford event with Mystery holes.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Tony McLaughlin fired on all cylinders last week to return 29 points for the 12 holes to just pip Greg Maskill on 28. Craig Hussey had 26, Glenn Baxter and Tony Clewett each 25, Alan McDonald 24, Ratna Rankmore and Russell Schmitt 23 and Maxine McLaughlin had 22 for the rundown.

Sunday Competition

Simon Jiang kicked off the new year with an amazing 46 points in the Mulligans event held on Sunday. Roly Wong picked up second place with 42 and the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th. Sam McDonald scored an eagle on the Lee and Thomas13th on his way to 41, Tony McLaughlin took the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole and the nearest the pin on the Alan Bill Electrical 7th and finished with 40. Mac Fife made 38, Eddie Sivell 37, Glenn Baxter 36, and on 35 were Geoff Knight, Andrew Balabka and Gary Spence.

Lindsay Sergeant won the nearest the pin for the BC Training 6th and after last week’s eagle on the 11th John Smith won the nearest the pins for the Workers Club 8th and Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th. Chris Ryan won the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th.

Sunday Jan 11 is a 4 Ball Best Ball stableford event.

Huge thanks to the volunteers for their efforts over this holiday season keeping the course in great shape and the clubhouse attended to assist the large numbers of holiday golfers.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Michael Wilson won the final Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp for 2025 on countback with a score of 27 points. Maxine McLaughlin was unlucky with her 27 points but she gets to lose another shot. Making up the rundown were Frances Miners 25, Ian Baxter 24, Don Grimston 23 and Ken Wray and Tony McLaughlin 22 after a countback.

Sunday Competition

The December Stroke and A Grade Monthly Medal was won by Andrew Balabka in perfect style with a 7 under round nett 61. Andrew also took the nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th. Tom James took the B grade with 65 and Don Grimston the C grade on 65.

The rundown included Luke Wray 67, Glenn Baxter 68 and John Smith 68. The jackpot Mitre 10 hole went to Chris Ryan who also took the Alan Bill Electrical 7th and the Lee and Thomas 13th drive and pitch. Max Sakiasi won the BC Training 6th and Workers Club 8th nearest the pins and James Will won the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and Carpet Court 16th prizes.

2026 kicks off with a Mulligan Stableford on January 4. Each player will have 4 chances to redo a bad shot. 2 in the front 9 holes and 2 in the back nine. If you only have a couple of shots ruining your game…then this is for you.

Don Grimston had the magic of Christmas with him on the way to 29 points last week for a win in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition. Maxine McLaughlin headed up the rundown with 26. Others in the rundown were Hayden Ward 25, France Miners 24, Terry Berg 23, Jeff Edwards 23 and Ken Wray 23.

Sunday Competition

Sam McDonald took the Santa sack with a win in the Par event on Sunday with a score of +5 and the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin 14th . Tom James came in second on +4 followed by Tom Heath on +1. Making up the rundown in the top of the negative scores were John Smith , Tony McLaughlin , Glenn Baxter and Luke Wray all on -1 and Bill Reid on -2.

Tony McLaughlin won the Mitre 10 jackpot hole while Greg granger took nearest the pins on the  B C Training and Worker’s Club 6th and 8th , Luke Wray took the Alan Bill Electrical and Goulburn Soldiers Club 7th and 9th . Tom Heath won the Le and Thomas drive and pitch and Bill Reid took the same for the Carpet Court 16th.

Dec 28 is the Stroke Monthly Medal for December. Tully Park Golf Club wishes everybody a Merry Christmas and safe holiday season.

Wayne Blay set the course alight last week with 30 points for the 12 hole competition. Hayden Ward was unlucky to score 28 and be relegated to second with Lindsay Sergeant 24, Don Grimston 23, Craig Brown 23 and Jeff Edwards 22 on a 4 card countback making up the rundown.

Ray Turner scored 37, John Smith 37 and Chris Ryan 37 and the NTP on the Workers Club 8th. Tony McLaughlin 37 and NTP on Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th , Ian Peterson 36 and both drive and pitch prizes for the lee and Thomas 13th and Carpet Court 16th. Hayden Ward took the final ball with 35 after a countback.

Condolences from the members of Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club to the family of Dave King and to Joy Leary and her family. Dave passed away recently and was a long time member of Tully Park as both member and Trust Board member. Joy Leary’s husband , and former Tully member, Stuart also passed this week.

Sam Cosgrove was victorious after a countback win over Lindsay Sergeant after both finished on 26 points last week. On 23 were Phil Heath, Tony Clewett and Kim Fahey and on 22 for the rundown were Jeff Edwards, Alan McDonald and Craig Brown.

Sunday Competition

The 4 person ambrose for Gala Day attracted 52 starters with the winning team Mick Gray, Kerry Bensley, Mick Wilson and Craig Langby with a nett 52.25. Chris Lewis, Sam Cosgrove, Luke Dixon and Craig Hussey came in with 52.875 followed by the teams of T James/S McDonald/T McLaughlin 53,J Burton/ A Croker/K Croker/P Wray 54, W Brown/M Taylor/B Brown/ M Stephenson 55.125  and M Ryan/ I Baxter/A McDonald/ L Sergeant 55.875.

The jackpot was won by Sam Cosgrove on the Mitre 10 hole. Nearest the pins went to Kirby Croker (Priceline 2nd), Greg Granger (BC Training 6th), Jeremy Harrison (Alan Bill Electrical 7th),Mick Gray (Workers Club 8th and Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th), Alan McDonald (Goulburn soldiers Club 14th) and Mick Wilson (Argyle Cleaning 17th).

Sunday Competition

Glenn Baxter scored a nett 64 to win the 2025 Gold Medal playoff and the C grade monthly medal for November. Tom James was next best on 67 after a countback and took the B grade medal and Chris Ryan on 69 won the A grade. The rundown included Siomn Jiang and Don Grimston both on 67, Greg granger 68, Tony Clewett and Luke Wray both 69 and Mitch Cook and Tony Mclaughlin both on 71. The Mitre 10 jackpot hole was won by Ray Turner.

Nearest the pins were won by Chris Ryan (BC Training 6th) Ken Wray 9Alan Bill Electrical 7th), Chris Elliott Worker’s Club 8th) , and Mick Wilson (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th) . Mitch Cook also scored and eagle on the Reid Plumbing 18th.

Drive and pitch prizes both went to Andrew Balabka on the Lee and Thomas 13th and the Carpet Court 16th.

Dec 7 is the 4 Person Ambrose Gala Day for members only. Nominate your team by Friday Dec 5 at 6pm.

Wayne Blay topped the competition last week with 25 points with Phil Heath close behind on 24. Russell Schmitt had 23 Maxine Mclaughlin 22 and Tony McLaughlin 21. On a countback for 20 Peter Webster and Doug Stevens finished the rundown. The Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition runs every week of the year.

Ladies

The Tully Ladies have wound up their competition year and will return from February 2026. Closing day winners were Maxine McLaughlin 96 and Lil Ryan 115 (Gross winners div 1 & 2), Ratna Rankmore 97 and Frances Miners 120 (Gross runners up div 1 & 2),  Heather Buchanan 77 and Ruth Beveridge 88 (Nett winners div 1 & 2), Georgina Cook 77 and Barbara Miller 90 (Nett runners up div 1 & 2).

Medal of Medals winner Ratna Rankmore 70 nett.

Champions of the Year Heather Buchanan 376 gross (A div ), Georgina Cook 398 (B div), Ruth Beveridge 453 (C div). Ratna Rankmore  300 nett ((A div), Gail Kennerley 305 (B div) and Frances Miners 296 (C div).
