Sunday Competition

Glenn Baxter took the stableford win on Sunday with 41 points and scored the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole as well. Tom Heath took second place with 39, Don Grimston 38, Max Sakiasi 38 and the nearest the pin for the BC Training 6th. Ray Turner scored 37, John Smith 37 and Chris Ryan 37 and the NTP on the Workers Club 8th. Tony McLaughlin 37 and NTP on Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th , Ian Peterson 36 and both drive and pitch prizes for the lee and Thomas 13th and Carpet Court 16th. Hayden Ward took the final ball with 35 after a countback.

Dec 21 is a Par event. Tully Park Golf Club wishes everybody a Merry Christmas and safe holiday season. Dec 28 is the Stroke Monthly Medal.

Condolences from the members of Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club to the family of Dave King and to Joy Leary and her family. Dave passed away recently and was a long time member of Tully Park as both member and Trust Board member. Joy Leary’s husband , and former Tully member, Stuart also passed this week.

Sam Cosgrove was victorious after a countback win over Lindsay Sergeant after both finished on 26 points last week. On 23 were Phil Heath, Tony Clewett and Kim Fahey and on 22 for the rundown were Jeff Edwards, Alan McDonald and Craig Brown.

The 4 person ambrose for Gala Day attracted 52 starters with the winning team Mick Gray, Kerry Bensley, Mick Wilson and Craig Langby with a nett 52.25. Chris Lewis, Sam Cosgrove, Luke Dixon and Craig Hussey came in with 52.875 followed by the teams of T James/S McDonald/T McLaughlin 53,J Burton/ A Croker/K Croker/P Wray 54, W Brown/M Taylor/B Brown/ M Stephenson 55.125  and M Ryan/ I Baxter/A McDonald/ L Sergeant 55.875.

The jackpot was won by Sam Cosgrove on the Mitre 10 hole. Ken Wray put it all together last week for 26 points over the 12 holes. Wayne Blay came in next on 25, Sam Cockburn and Craig Brown each had 24 and on 23 were Lindsay Sergeant, Ian Baxter and Russell Schmitt for the rundown.

Sunday Competition

Glenn Baxter scored a nett 64 to win the 2025 Gold Medal playoff and the C grade monthly medal for November. Tom James was next best on 67 after a countback and took the B grade medal and Chris Ryan on 69 won the A grade. The rundown included Siomn Jiang and Don Grimston both on 67, Greg granger 68, Tony Clewett and Luke Wray both 69 and Mitch Cook and Tony Mclaughlin both on 71. The Mitre 10 jackpot hole was won by Ray Turner.

Nearest the pins were won by Chris Ryan (BC Training 6th) Ken Wray 9Alan Bill Electrical 7th), Chris Elliott Worker’s Club 8th) , and Mick Wilson (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th) . Mitch Cook also scored and eagle on the Reid Plumbing 18th.

Drive and pitch prizes both went to Andrew Balabka on the Lee and Thomas 13th and the Carpet Court 16th.

The Tully Ladies have wound up their competition year and will return from February 2026. Closing day winners were Maxine McLaughlin 96 and Lil Ryan 115 (Gross winners div 1 & 2), Ratna Rankmore 97 and Frances Miners 120 (Gross runners up div 1 & 2),  Heather Buchanan 77 and Ruth Beveridge 88 (Nett winners div 1 & 2), Georgina Cook 77 and Barbara Miller 90 (Nett runners up div 1 & 2).

Dean Horne and Greg Granger teamed up to win the 4 ball best ball on Sunday with 45 points. Luke Wray and Doug Stevens played well for 41 and Tony Clewett and Ian Peterson had 40 to be included in the rundown.

Georgina Cook led the way with 64 nett for a win in the division 1 stroke event last week. Barbara Miller won division 2 with 81. In the rundown were Maxine Mclaughlin 65, Heather Buchana 68 and Ratna Rankmore 77. The putting prizes went to Georgina Cook 29 and Barbara Miller 39.

Brian Mills Charity Day raised around $1500 for Goulburn Riding for Disabled with64 players taking part.

Winners of the 2 Person Ambrose were Tom Heath and  Ray Turner with 60.75 nett, runners up Roly Wong and Mick Wilson 61. The rundown included the teams of Tony Clewett/ Ian Peterson 62, Wayne Brown / Mark Stephenson 63.5, Sam Cosgrove/ Sam Cockburn 63.75, Sam McDonald/ Luke Wray 63.75, Maxine Mclaughlin/ Terry Berg 64.25, Russ Schmitt/ Di Schmitt 64.25 and R Schmitt/ Alan Bill 65.75.

Social teams winners were Jay Fletcher and Graham Bush 65 and Tom James and Wayne James were the runners up 67.75. The rundown included Wayne Blay/ Nathan Mclaughlin 69 and Jaemin Frazer / Elliott Frazer 69.5.

Nearest the pins were won by Dean Horne (Alan Bill Electrical 7th) Tony Clewett (Workers Club 8th) Chris Lewis and Mark Stephenson (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th and 14th), Tom Heath (Priceline 2nd) and Alan Bill (Argyle Cleaning 17th).

Alan McDonald crept in with 25 points on countback over Michael Wilson for a win in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event last week. In the rundown were Ian Baxter 24, Simon Jiang 24, Tony Clewett 23, Maxine McLaughlin 23, Craig Hussey 23, Lindsay Sergeant 21 and Stephen Rigby 20 on countback.

Ladies

A nett 70 won Maxine McLaughlin division 1 in the stroke event last Monday with Lil Ryan taking  division 2 with 71. The ball rundown went to Heather Buchanan 72 and Barbara Miller 73. Putting prizes went to Ratna Rankmore 31putts while Georgina Cook had 37.

The Mexican Team event was won by the team of Ian Peterson, Tony Clewett, Ken Wray and Don Grimston on 103 points. Jeremy Harrison, Gary Spence, Garry Handley and Eddie Hawkins came I second on 98 followed by Ian Baxter, Tony McLaughlin, Max Sakiasi and Roly Wong 97 and finishing the rundown Alan Bill, Alan McDonald, Lindsay Sergeant and Russell Schmitt on 93.

The Mitre 10 jackpot hole and the Alan Bill Electrical 7th were won by Jeremy Harrison. Other nearest the pins were won by Simon Jiang (Workers Club 8th ), Garry Handley (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th ) and Chris Ryan (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th ). Ratna Rankmore led the way for the Captain vs President stableford event on Monday with 35 points. Maxine Mclaughlin was the best in for the President’s team with 30. Nearest the pins on the Priceline 2nd  were Heather Buchanan and Maxine Mclaughlin. The rundown for the day included Georgina Cook 31 and Ruth Beveridge 22.

2025 Championships

The 2025 championships are over with the Gross grade winners-  Brett Buckley 310 (A Grade), Max Sakiasi 337 (B Grade) and Alan McDonald 382 (C Grade). Overall nett winners were Mitch Cook 282, Luke Dixon 279, and Dean Horne 310 for the A, B and C grades respectively.

The round 3 winner on Saturday was Max Sakiasi with nett 66, followed by Sam Cosgrove with 68. The rundown included Luke Dixon 69, Alan Bill 71, Andrew Balabka 71 down to 76 on countback .

Was the fourth round winner with64 nett was Mitch Cook and second place went to Sam McDonald 68  . The rundown included Max Sakiasi 69, Russell Schmitt 69, Simon Jiang 70, down to 72.

The Mitre 10 jackpot hole was won by Andrew Balabka. Ian Baxter managed to hold on for another round to take the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition for 2025 after finishing with 93 points for his best 4 rounds over the 6 weeks. Tony McLaughlin managed to take 2nd spot on 92 and Lindsay Sergeant and Alan McDonald finished tied for 3rd on 90. Big thanks to Val Allen for her continued support of the club and this event.

The 12 hole comp for the Goulburn Soldiers Club was won by Hayden Ward with 23 points. Garry Handley, Tony McLaughlin, Ian Baxter, Maxine Mclaughlin and John Smith each had 22 and Lindsay Sergeant took the final ball in the rundown after a countback on 20.

Barbara Miller took to the winner’s podium after a great round of 57 nett in the stroke event last week taking the division 2 win. Division 1 was won by Maxine McLaughlin with an also impressive round of 65 nett and the putting prize with 32 putts. Division 2 putting winner was Ruth Beveridge on countback with 34 . The rundown included Gail Kennerley 69, Georgina Cook 69 and Heather Buchanan 72.

Garry Handley will be under the knife from the handicapper after scoring 31 points for the 12 holes last week. Tony McLaughlin also pulled one out of the bag for his 25 followed by Ian Baxter 24, Maxine Mclaughlin 23 and Alan McDonald 23 for the rundown.

Leading into the final round of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition Ian Baxter has leapt to the lead on 91 just edging t Alan McDonald into second on 90 and Tony Clewett and Tony McLaughlin as tied for 3rd.

Ladies

The Ladies stroke and putting competition saw Georgina Cook take division 1 with nett 65 and the putting with 27. Division 2 was won by Barbara Miller on nett 66 and the putting winner was Frances Miners with 33. The rundown went to Gail Kennerley 73, Ratna Rankmore 73, and Frances Miners 74.

Joe Fehir Memorial Mixed Foursomes

This inaugural event honouring the recently departed Tully Captain was won by the team of Frances Miners and Tony McLaughlin on 68.5. Georgina Cook and Kerry Bensley took second place with nett 70 on a windy day but enjoyed by all.

Sunday Competition

The Canadian Foursomes was won by the team of Andrew Balabka and Brynn Matthews on nett 67. Tom James and Sam McDonald were next best on 69.125 followed by Ken Wray and Don Grimston 69.75. The rundown also included Tom Heath and John Smith 70.125, and Gary Spence and Eddie Hawkins 73.125.

A countback win went to Ken Wray on 27 points over Lindsay Sergeant last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition. Ian Baxter came in with 24 along with Alan McDonald and Craig Brown. On 23 were Glenn Baxter and Tony Clewett and Brett Buckley had 22.

After 4 rounds of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition Tony Clewett still holds the lead on 86, Alan McDonald hangs on to second with 84 and tied for third are Lindsay Sergeant and Ian Baxter both on 82. The final 2 rounds are now underway.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan led the way with 34 points in the stableford event and won the nearest the pin last week for the Tully Ladies. Ruth Beveridge won division 2 on 30. The ball rundown included Georgina cook 31, Maxine Mclaughlin 26 and Barbara Miller 26.
