Sunday Competition

Darrell Spence proved too good for the competition after returning +3 for the Par event on Sunday. Roly Wong was next best with +2 followed by Max Sakiasi and Ray Turner each on +1. Trent Cooper finished square while Simon Jiang, Tony McLaughlin and Chris Ryan made the rundown on -1 in a four card countback.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Russell Lieschke took top honours with 26 points last week followed by Roly Wong 23, Maxine McLaughlin 22, Mark Berrisford 22 and Lindsay Sergeant 22. On 21 was Jeff Edwards and on 20 Mick McDonald and Tony Clewett. Graham tasker took the final ball on 19 on countback.

Ladies

Beryl Gray scored 32 points to win the ladies stableford last week with Maxine McLaughlin coming in with 30. Beryl Howe won the mystery hole for the Mitre 10, Argyle Cleaning and Alan Bill Electrical holes with 7 points.

Notices:  Sunday June 26 Stroke Monthly medal. Nominations are now being taken for the committee for 2022/23 ready for the AGM on August 14. With the vacating of 4 positions it is important to get some new committee members.

Sunday Competition

On a cold and blustery day Ray Turner took top honours with 72 after a countback over Ian Peterson. John Smith 74 and Tom James 75 made up the rundown and won the drive and pitch on the Aaron’s trees hole. Chris Ryan picked up the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole and Russell Lieschke was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole.

Russell Schmitt scored 25 for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition last week .Eddie Anning was next best on 23. On 22 were Mick Gray and Max Sakiasi, on 21 Jeff Edwards, Mick McDonald and Henry Galland. Russell Lieschke scored 20 and Eddie Hawkins took the final ball after a 4 card countback on 19.

Ladies

Wet weather saw the ladies golf cancelled last week.

Sunday Competition

Russell Schmitt held it together in windy conditions on Sunday on his way to 36 points for a win in the stableford event. Ian pet5erson proved best of three players for second place after he, Tom James and Mick Regterschot each had 33 points. Bill Reid had 32 along with Tony McLaughlin and Roly Wong had 31 for the rundown. Tom James won the mystery holes for the Goulburn Soldiers Club, Free-One Design and The Agency holes with 10 points. Ian Peterson won the nearest the pin on Jewell Builders hole and Tony McLaughlin took the drive and pitch on D.One Accounting. The jackpot hole will carry over for another week.,

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

The cold and wet conditions affected the field last week but not the results as Tony McLaughlin beat Josh Cooper in a countback after both scored 27 points. Next best were Max Sakiasi and Mick Regterschot both with 23.

Ladies

Beryl Howe prevailed in wintery conditions with 30 points for the stableford event for the Tully ladies. Frances Miners had a good day for her 29 and took out the mystery holes for Priceline 2nd, Goulburn Soldiers Club 11th and Argyle Cleaning 15th with 11 points.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Graham Mansfield won the June Slater Drafting with nett 25 just ahead of Noel James and Elsey Slater both on 26. The July round will be on 9.

Sunday Competition

Ron  Nunn returned to form to win the May Stoke monthly medal round and the C grade after a 3 card countback with nett 72. Greg Robertson took second place and John Smith won the A grade. Andrew Balabka took C grade with nett 73 beating Russ Schmitt on countback. Trent Cooper returned a 74 as did Russell Lieschke and Tom Heath with Max Sakiasi 75 and Mac Fife 76 making up the rundown after a 3 card countback.  Tom Heath also won the Mitre 10 nearest the pin and Chris Young won the drive and pitch on Ginny’s Building and carpentry.

Andrew Barrett has won his first Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition after a countback over Ian Baxter when both finished on 25 points. Alan McDonald played well for his 24, Di Schmitt, Jeff Edwards, Greg Maskill and Tony McLaughlin each had 23. Mark Berrisford made 22 and John Smith crept into the rundown on 21.

Ladies

The maximim 9 stablford competition played las Monday was won by Frances Miners with 24 points. Di Schmitt and Beryl Howe each had 23 points for their best 9. Joy Leasry won the mystery holes for the Priceline 2nd, Fire Services plus 8th and Argyle Cleaning 17th with 8 points.

Josh Cooper, Anthony Cooper, Andrew Balabka and Bill Reid combined for 100 points in the Mexican Team event on Sunday. Russ Schmitt, Alan Bill, Eddie Sivell and Simon Jiang came in next on 96. Ian Peterson won the nearest the pin for the Workers Club 8th, Josh Cooper took the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and Greg Robertson won the jackpot hole for Jeremy Ryan  Plumbing 7th.

Ray Turner had a win over the 44 starters with 27 points last week leaving daylight to the rest of the field with the next best Roly Wong on 23. On 22 were Tony Clewett, Graham Mansfield, Greg Maskill, Tom James and John Smith, On 20 were Russell Lieschke, JohnBlair, Lindsay Sergeant and Simon Jiang. Finishing off the rundown Kerry Bensley and Maxine McLaughlin both on 19.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan returned to the winners circle with nett 79 for Division 1 of the stroke event last week. Jenni Price took division 2 with nett 82. The rundown included Maxine McLaughlin 82, Beryl Howe 85 and Frances Miners 85 on a slow and heavy course after the rain. Putting went to Di Schmitt 31 and Jenni Price 32.

21 teams took part in the Ambrose at Tully on Sunday with Josh Cooper and Jon Gegg the men’s winners with nett 58 and Wayne and Nicole Minney the Mixed winners on 71.75. Second placegetters were Angus Regterschot /Trent Cooper 62.25 and Wayne James / Shane Munro 72. Third places went to Mick Regterschot /   Andrew Balabka 64.75 and Tony McLaughlin/ Maxine McLaughlin 72.25. The rundown included T James/ M James 66, J Smith/ T Heath 66.5, R Lieschke/ E Hawkins 67.5, M Sakiasi/ R Wong 68, C Wilmont/ M Corcoran 68.75 and D Maddock/ J Will 69.75. Josh Cooper won the nearest the pin on the Jewell Builder 14th.

Mark Berrisford returned to the winner’s circle with 26 points last week for the 12 hole competition. Eddie Hawkins scored 25 and Joy Leary and Beryl Gray both played well for their 24 points each. 32 points were enough for Maxine McLaughlin to win the ladies’ stableford last week with Di Schmitt 31 and Joy Leary 26 in the rundown. Mystery holes went to Jeni Price on the Fire Service plus 6th, Lee and Thomas 13th and Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th.

Tully Park Early Birds farewells another life member with the passing of CV Scott on April 27. CV had over 50 years on the Tully Park Trust and dedicated many years toward improving our great golf course.

Sunday Competition

Brandon Courts played well for 40 points to win on countback over Mac Fife in Sunday’s stableford event. Matt James had 38 followed by Chris Ryan 36, Russ Schmitt 35, Tony Clewett, Roly Wong and Ryan Saville each had 34. Tony Clewett won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th, Mac Fife took the drive and pitch for Lee and Thomas 13th, Roly Wong won the Mystery Holes for the Bio-Cleanse , The Agency and Argyle Cleaning holes. John Smith added to his kitty with another win for the Jackpot hole on the Mitre 10 fifth. (come on golfers sharpen up your accuracy)

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

New to the competitive golfing arena brock Phillips had his first win in only his second comp round with 28 points on a countback over Matt James last week. Tom James, Trent Cooper and Luke Hartin each had 26 with Phil Heath and Tony McLaughlin both on 25. Greg Maskill scored 24, Josh Cooper 23 followed by Alan McDonald, Lindsay Sergeant and Adam Bruckshaw on 22 in a rundown that went to 20 in a 7 card countback. There were 43 starters.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin had nett 86 to take division 1 for the stroke event with Beryl Howe on 82 for div 2. The rundown saw Grace Prig score 85 and Beryl Gray 86. Ratna Rankmore won the Div 1 putting with 35 and Beryl How div 2 on 30.

Foursome championships

Tom Heath and John Smith took the overall gross title for 2022 with a total for the 2 rounds of 164. The overall nett winners were Brandon Courts and Josh Cooper with 137.

Round 1 winners were Tony McLaughlin and Ian Baxter 69. The rundown included T Heath/ J Smith 71.5, J Cooper/ B Courts 72, C Ryan/ R Turner 73, A McDonald/ L Sergeant 73. Nearest the pins for the day went to  Mick Regterschot and Ray Turner on the Mitre 10 hole and Lindsay Sergeant Workers Club hole.

Round 2 winners were Josh Cooper and Brandon Courts 65. The rundown included T Heath/ J Smith 67.5, C Ryan / R Turner 68, J Ryan/ P Gurr 72, M Sakias / R Wong 73.5.

Ratna Rankmore won the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event last week with 26 points edging out Chris Ryan on 25. On 24 were Luke Hartin, Lindsay Sergeant, Mark Berrisford and Greg Maskill. Russell Sheely, Eddie Hawkins and Russell Schmitt all had 23 and Brett Buckley wound up the rundown on 22.

Georgina Cook scored 35 points to win last week’s Division 1 stableford event. Beryl Gray had 27 for division 2. Ratna Rankmore and Maxine Mclaughlin both had 34 and Joy Leary on 28 made the rundown. Georgina also took the mystery holes for the 4th, Mandy’s restaurant 10th and Carpet Court 16th with 5 points.

Ryan Saville’s nett 65 gets him on the list for the Gold Medal Playoff in November and the B Grade win for April. Russell Lieschke had 69 for the A grade win and Eddie Hawkins took second place and the C grade win.   Included in the rundown were Tony McLaughlin 68, Sion Jiang 70, Chris Ryan 70, Russ Schmitt and Tom heath 71, Mac Fife 72  and John Smith 73 in a 3 card countback. Alan Bill won the Jackpot on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th, Tom Heath was nearest the pin for the Mitre 10 hole and Tony McLaughlin won  the drive and pitch on Ginny’s Building and Carpentry.

Dean Kennedy set the pace for the 12 hole comp last week with 25 points with Garry Handley, Tom James, Malcolm Young and Ian Baxter all on his heels with 24. Ron Nunn and Zacc Broderick each had 23, Russell Lieschke 22 and Greg Maskill, Lindsay Sergeant, Mick Gray and Tony McLaughlin all on 21 in a 5 card countback.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin made 34 points last week to win division 1 with Frances Miners scoring 33 for a division 2 win. Georgina Cook led the rundown on 34 and took the mystery holes for Merino Fuels, Jeremy Ryan Plumbing and ARW holes on 6 points. The rundown also included Di Schmitt and Ruth Beveridge both on 26.

Ian Peterson scored 35 points to top the field of 27. Kerry Bensley scored 34 for second place followed by the rundown of Mick Gray 31, Trent Cooper 31, Greg Robertson 31, Chris Ryan, Jeremy Harrison and Bill Reid all on 30 and Mitch Cook 29. John Smith won the jackpot holes on the Workers Club 8th, Darrell Spence took the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th nearest the pin and Trent Cooper won the carpet Court nearest the pin on the 16th.

Greg Maskill led the way over the 41 player field with 25 points last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event. Ian Peterson, Ron Nunn and Brett Buckley were all close behind on 24. Russell Lieschke, Luke Hartin and Tony Clewett  each had 22 followed by Alan McDonald, Greg Robertson and Stan Geale on 21. Lindsay Sergeant had a welcome return from time off to take the final ball in the rundown on 20 after a six card countback.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan performed best with 78 nett in damp conditions to win division 1 and Beryl Gray took div 2 on 91. The rundown included Georgina Cook 81, Maxine McLaughlin 86 and Joy Leary 88. Putting was won by Georgina Cook 30 and Grace Prigg 33.

Notices:  Sunday April 24 Stroke Monthly Medal. May 1 is the Foursome Championships so book carts early if you want them and be prepared to share. Last week’s Tully v RSL finished with scores of Tully 348 and RSL 345. 4BBB  winners were Mac Fife/ Bill Reid (Tully) and Steve Apps/ Bob Stewart 48. Memberships for 2022/23 start from May 1 with full membership $290 and over 65 years $210 (both get $10 off for Goulburn Soldiers Club members) Junior (under 18) $80 and subjunior (under 12) $40. Remote membership (over 40km from Goulburn) is $120. The 2 person ambrose social day is May 15. Thank you to Veolia Mulwaree Trust for the generous grant to Tully for the replacement of the path from the second tee. This will be a welcome upgrade for the Tully Park Golf Club. Huge thanks to Luke and the volunteers for their efforts taming the fast growing grass at the course.
