Tully Park News 7/2/2016

Gordon Hotel Stableford

In his best form for months, Gary Spence won the Stableford with 42 points. Ball winners were T.Clewitt, R. Lieschke and C. Eggins on a countback. The 3 mystery holes were won by President Shane Cooper with 8 points on a c/b from Gary Spence.  Nearest the pin winners were S. Cooper on the Goulburn Produce & rural supplies 5th. Hole. D. Grimson on the 7th.  and  J.Smith on the Goulburn Workers club sponsored 8th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club weekly 12 hole competition.

The winner was PHIL Elliott with 26 points. Ball winners were G.Cave 25, Roy McNair 23, Bryan Plumb 22, Mick Grey 22 and Don Grimston 21 on a c/b. Mick Hyland won the Special ball with 12 points.

Par 3 Competition

Rheannah Webb continued her development, winning the Adult competition with a nett 21. Nathan Chandler did extremely well to win the Juniors with a nett 19.

We purchased two nearly new Greens mowers this week and it is already showing its effects on the greens. Thanks to all the volunteers who continue to raise the standards of the course.

Gordon Hotel Monthly Medal

The course quickly recovered from the heavy hailstorm Saturday and apart from some bunkers declared GUR the course was in good condition for the Monthly Medal. This month it was won by B grader, Brian Mills with a fine nett 67. Tom Heath won A grade with a nett 70 and Ron Nunn 72. Ball winners were Trent Cooper 67, Tom Heath 70 and Ron Nunn 72.

The Goulburn Produce and Rural supplies NTP was won by Ian Peterson who also took out the prize on the 7th. Russell Lieschke took out the Goulburn Wokers Club 8th. hole

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid week competition

Russell Schmitt won this weeks comp. with 27 points on a countback from Lachlan Bill.Ball winners were Bryson Plumb 25, Shane Cooper 24 John Peterson beat Brian Larkin on 23 in a countback. The special ball winner this week was Nathan Chandola with 5 points.

Next Week Feb. 7 is a Stableford.

Junior Pennant Results

Playing their first competition of the year the Juniors won 4 to 2 against Yowani. Both Trent and Jon Gegg won their matches in a pleasing display.

Mens B grade

Travelling away the Tully Park Men had a good result,, winning 4.5 to 1.5 over RMC

Gordon Hotel Canadian Foursomes Sunday 24/1/16

The start of the Penant competition meant a small but keen field this week.Conditions were cool and misty making putting a challenge. Anthony Cooper and Bryan Norris ran out winnners with 58 1/2 points. Ball winners were Ian and Kevin Peterson with 62 while Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins took 63 1/2

Nearest the pin winners were -Ken Wray on the Goulburn Produce and Rural Supplies 5th.

Rheannah Webb continued her fine form this week by streeting the field with 30 points. Ball winners were Phil Elliot 27,Trent Cooper 26 and Brian Larkin on 24 on a countback over Kevin Peterson

Gordon Hotel Ambrose Competition

What a beautiful day. The course was magnificent, the weather kind and a big field of players.

Winners were Darryl Spence, Adam Boxsell , Marty Weisse and C. Bruton with a great score of 52 5/8. Ball winners were Josh and Anthony Cooper and Bryan Noris 54 1/3, Rheannah Webb/Trent Cooper/ Chris Webb 55, Paul Wray/Ian Stephenson/Troy Rosenear 55 1/6, Ian, Kevin Peterson/ Ross Stacey 56 and John Blair/Ian Stephenson/Troy Rosenear 61

Gordon Hotel Competition Sun. Jan. 10, 2016

Beautiful Sunny weather greeted a small field for the first event of the year. The course and greens were in top condition after the heavy rainfall event last week, thanks to the dedicated work of the clubs volunteers.

Shane Cooper showed dashing form with a great 8 up result. Ball winners were Ian Peterson +4, Brian Mills +3, Russell Schmitt +3,and Ken Wray +3.  Russell Schmitt took out NTP on the Goulburn Produce 5th. Hole, Ray Turner was best on the 7th. and Shane Cooper confirmed his good day with NTP on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th. hole.

After all the rain cleared we had keen competition for the 12 hole event. It was won by our popular junior Rheanna Webb on 25 points and was keenly contested as she won on a countback from Russell Schmitt and Ross Stacey. Doug Pennay, Eddie Hawkins and Trent Cooper were competitive, all on 24. Bryson Plumb took out the special ball with 18.

The first Par 3 event on Saturday proved popular with newcomer Tracey Cooper taking out the Adult event and Nathan Chandola taking out the junior prize.

  1. Rain is Finished!

The course looks brand new. It is amazing how quickly the course comes  back after good rain. All that absorbed CO2 really works well as a fertiliser.  

Come out and play the 12 hole comp. there is only 25 points to beat. Also don’t forget the par 3 comp. on Saturday, it should be great fun.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition 3/1/2016

Mild overcast conditions greeted the first Sunday comp. of the New Year. These conditions and the dry fairways resulted in some good scoring for the day. A Stableford competition was won by Russell Lieschke with 41 points closely followed by Russell Schmitt and Chris Webb on 40 whilst Eddie Hawkins filled 4th. place on a countback. The mystery holes today were 4, 10, 14 and Brian Norris won these with 9 points.

The Goulburn Produce and Rural supplies sponsored 5th hole nearest the pin was won by Eddie Sivell and Russell Lieschke rounded off a good day by taking out both the NTP on the 7th and the Workers club 8th hole.

The Goulburn Soldiers Club sponsored 12 hole weekly competition 

Russell Lieshke’s form continued during the week and resulted in him winning with 28 points. Other good scores were Josh Cooper 26, Bryson Plumb, Eddie Hawkins and Tony Clewett 25 and Don Grimson 24. The Special ball this week was won by Brian Wyndham on 16 points.

With beautiful weather forecast for the next few days why don’t you play in the 12 hole Stableford competition? The course is in good shape and the Greens “to putt” on.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

A very pleasant day greeted members for the Gordon Hotel Monthly Medal competition. The course was in great condition after some light rain which settled the dust and the great work done by the course volunteers. The Greens were in fantastic condition and were certainly no excuse for any missed putts.

Ian Peterson took out Best Nett with a great score of Nett 59. A Grade was won by Russell Lieschke on nett 66, B grade Ian Peterson, Nett 59 and C Grade Anthony Cooper Nett 65. Nearest to pin winners were Kerry Bensley, Goulburn Produce and Rural supplies, 5th hole. Marty Hunter won Goulburn Farm Machiner 7th. and Ian Peterson got the Goulburn Workers club 8th.

Goulburn Soldiers club mid week 12 hole competition

The Soldiers Club mid week competition was well supported this week. Phil Elliot took out 1st. with 29 points followed by Bryson Plumb on 28 and Russell Schmitt on 26
