Tully Park Golf 20/10/2019

Sunday Competition

The major championships are underway with some great rounds in the terribly windy conditions on Saturday leading to winner of division 1,2 and 3 being Ray Turner nett 70 on countback, Gary Spence Nett 67 and Tom James nett 67 respectively. Sunday saw Trent Cooper take division 1 honours with nett 67, Gary Spence backed up with 64 for division 2 and Simon Jiang took division 3 on countback with 66. The nearest the pin on 5th hole was won by Russell Schmitt with the Millenium Windows drive and pitch on the 1st going begging. Congratulations to Ned Slater who took the eagles nest with a long distance shot into the hole for his second on the Gordon Hotel 11th. A full list of results is in the clubhouse window with the overall leaders in the A, B and c grades. Rounds 3 and 4 continue this weekend.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

The final round of the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition has seen Darryn Davis leap to the front on 109 points to take the 1st prize voucher followed by the 5 week leader, Alan Bill, on 108 and creeping into 3rd is Tully junior Ned Slater on 105. Congratulations to these players on holding their nerve for the 6 week competition. Big thanks to Val Allen for her continued support.

The Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp was won last week by Brian Larkin on 30 with Tom James, Ned Slater, and Darryn Davis all next on 27. For the field of 37 the rundown went to 25.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore kept her good form last week finishing with nett 67 to take division 1 while Di Schmitt also finished on 67 for a division 2 win. The rundown included Joy Leary 70 and Heather Buchanan on 71.

Juniors

Juniors will now break during the championships and return on Saturday Nov 2 from 8.30 to 10am.

Notices: Saturday/ Sunday October 26/27 Stroke Blue markers for the Major Championships. Coming up on Nov 17 is the annual Goulburn and District Prostate Cancer Support Group Charity Day with proceeds this year also going to some selected local Primary Schools. Phil Elliott was the lucky number winner. Thank you to the amazing volunteers for getting the course in such great shape for our championships.

Tully Park Golf Club 13/10/2019

Sunday Competition

Ian Peterson and Chris Webb mad a formidable team on Sunday on their way to 47 points in the 4 ball best ball event. Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins finished the day with 45, Tom James and Jeremy Harrison 44 and Phil and Chris Elliott had 43 for the rundown.

Alan Bill was nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th and Eddie Hawkins took the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch on the 13th.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Round 5 of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition has seen a challenge at the top of the field after another 40 players contested last weeks round. Alan Bill still holds the lead on 105 after failing to outperform his best four rounds. Ryan Saville is tentatively holding second on 103 and now Darryn Davis has crept his way into the top section after a win for his 29 points in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition as he is tied with Ned Slater in third on 102. This final week could prove important with the Championships due to start soon.

The rest of the rundown for the 12 holes comp included: Wayne James 28, Trent Cooper 27 and Michael McPake both on 27, followed by Greg Maskill, John Peterson, Russell Schmitt and Ryan Wilson all on 26. The rundown went to 22 on countback.  

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore took division 1 with 34 points last Monday and Berryl Gray won division 2 with 27. The rundown included Sharon Scott on 29 and Joy Leary 29.

Par 3

Elsey Slater is going from strength to strength, returning a nett 21 on Saturday to win the Par 3 event.

Juniors

Well done to Ned Slater finishing 5th at Gungahlin Lakes and 3rd at Yowani in the week of golf in the ACT Monaro junior competition. This left him 3rd overall in his division. Juniors will now break during the championships and return on Saturday 2 from 8.30 to 10am.

Sunday Competition

Brett Cooper stole the show with a 44 point round on Sunday winning the stableford event and taking the Gordon Hotel drive and pitch on the 11th. Phil Elliott on started well with an eagle on the first on his way to 41 points. Russell Schmitt made 39, Chris Elliott 37 and John Smith 36 for the rundown. Alan Bill took the Capital country Plumbing 7th nearest the pin.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Round 4 of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition has seen another solid field of over 40 players trying to get an edge for the top spot. Alan Bill stayed strong with 27 to take the lead on 105 over Ryan Saville on 103 and Ned Slater on 102. Others are not far behind and still have a chance to improve on their best rounds in these final 2 weeks.

Darryn Davis took the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week after a countback with Jeanelle Slater and Alan Bill when all finished on 27. Wayne James played solid for 26 and Ryan Saville finished on 25. The ball rundown went to 22 on countback.

Ladies

Georgina Cook backed up from last weeks win with 34 points to win division 1 in the stableford event and the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th. Beryl Howe took out division 2 with 39 points. The rundown included Elsey Slater on 37, Ratna Rankmore 33 and Heather Buchanan on 33.

Par 3

The October Par 3 is on this Saturday Oct 12 from 7.30am to 12pm. Cost is only $7/player. It is a great way to have a hit at golf and try it out for the newcomers and to sharpen your skills if you are a keen golfing tragic.

Sunday Competition

Darryn Davis had a countback win for the stroke event and the B Grade monthly medal on Sunday when both he and Chris Elliott finished on 64 nett. Adam Boxsell won the A Grade with 70 and Brett Cooper the C grade with 67. Included in the rundown were Chris Elliott 64, Peter Gurr 67, Ron Nunn 68, Eddie Sivell 68 and Graham Tasker and Ryan Saville on 69. Phil Elliott won both the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Round 3 of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition has seen a great field of 50 players trying to get an edge for the top spot. At this stage there are 3 players on 78 points, Alan Bill, Ryan Saville and Tully junior Ned Slater and not far behind is Don Grimston on 76. This is still anyone’s comp to win with this week and 2 more to the finish line.

Brett Cooper stole the show last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher with 28 points. In the rundown to 23 points were Wayne James and Don Grimston both on 27, and Ned Slater and Malcolm Young on 26. Tony Grimston paid us a visit and took the eagles nest, that had grown quite large, back to Queensland with him for his eagle on the Chem Dry 10th.

Ladies

Georgina Cook won division 1 for the best 9 stroke event at Tully with a nett 37. Beryl howe took out division 2 with 39 nett. Di Schmitt 39 and Joy leary 39 1/3 were in the rundown.

Sunday Competition

Ken Wray was the winner on countback after he, Trent Cooper and Ryan Saville all finished on 38 points in the stableford event on Sunday. Michael McPake and Gary Spence both returned 37 and Brett Cooper made 36 for the rundown. Nearest the pin on the Worker Club 8th was Eddie Sivell and Jeremy Harrison won the Aaron’s trees drive and pitch on the 12th. Trent cooper also won the mystery holes for September after a countback with 8 points on the Merino Fuels 3rd, The Agency 15th and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Round 2 of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition was played last week with another good field of 33 and continues through this week and following 3 weeks. Leading the charge for the $100 voucher is Alan Bill with his two round total of 55 followed closely by Stephen Rigby on 54 and Ryan Saville who leapt into third after last week’s performance.

Ryan Saville won the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition with a strong 32 points leaving a strong field of results in his wake. Alan Bill, Bryson Plumb and Ned Slater all finished on 28 followed by Joy Leary, Peter Webster and Stephen Rigby all on 27. With the excellent greens after the recent coring everybody seems to be taking advantage of the conditions with the rundown going to 25 on a countback.

Ladies

The ladies stroke event division 1 was won by Joy Leary with a nett 69 and 31 putts. Beryl Howe won division 2 with 72 and 33 putts. Ratna Rankmore 70 and Heather Buchanan 74 were in the rundown.

Sunday Competition

In a round he will remember for a long time Ryan Saville finished +9 in the par event on Sunday to take the win followed 5 shots behind by a contingent of Ray Turner, Sam McDonald, Alan Mc Donald and Darryn Davis in a rundown that went to +2. Tom James was nearest the pin on the 5th hole for Mitre 10 and the Millenium Windows drive and pitch was not won.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Round 1 of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition was played last week with a field of 40 and continues through this week and following 4 weeks. Stephen Rigby won on countback for the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition and leads the consistency comp with Alan Bill after both made 27 points last week. The rundown included a strong performances by Judy Moran and Trent Cooper each with 26, Brian Larkin, John Peterson and Lindsay Sergeant 25 and then a rundown including 6 of the nine players on 24. Round 2 is now underway.

Ladies

Joy Leary made 33 points to win the ladies stableford this week with Heather Buchanan 31 and Beryl Gray on 29. Nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole was won by Beryl Howe.

Sunday Competition
Don Grimston handled the conditions the best of the bunch finishing with a nett 67 in the stroke event on Sunday. Tom Heath and Tom James both returned 68 while Alan McDonald and Alan Bill both came in with 69. Jeremy Harrison made up the rundown with 70. Alan Bill also won the Capital Country Plumbing 7th nearest the pin and the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th was not won.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Wayne James had a welcome return to the Goulburn Soldiers Club winners circle with a countback win for his 26 points last week. Stephen rigby also made 26 ahead of John Blair, Mick Gordon Michael Mc Pake and don Grimston all on 25. The rundown went to 24. The Kevin Allen Consistency comp is run in conjunction with the 12 hole comp and started this week.
Ladies
Georgina Cook took honours for division 1 with a nett 70 in the stroke event with Di Schmitt winning division 2 on 69. Ratna Rankmore and Joy Leary finished with 72 and 73 respectively for the rundown.
Par 3
 Par 3 for September was won by Jason Slater with nett 27. Elsie Slater made 28 and Jeanelle Slater and Alan Bill both finished on 29 for the rundown.

Sunday Competition
The 4 ball best ball was won by the team of Mac Fife and Trent Cooper with a score of 46 points. Grant Mooney and Josh cooper were next best on 45 followed by Ken Wray and Don Grimston 43 and Darrell Spence and Ian Peterson on 42.
Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was Mark Berrisford and the  drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th was won by Phil Elliott.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Eddie Hawkins’ 29 points got him over the line last week for his first win in a while. John Blair finished with 26 as did Alan McDonald. Judy Moran crept into the rundown at last with 24 points along with newcomer to competitions, Lindsay Sergeant. Joy Leary made up the rundown after a countback with 23. 
Ladies
Heather Buchanan pipped Joy Leary for the stableford win in the ladies event on Monday when both finished with 32 points. Sharon Scott also played well for her 31 points.
Par 3
 Par 3 for September is on this Sat from 8am to 12pm. Juniors and adults, golfers and novices are welcome to play. Juniors can go around with Russell at 8.30am. Cost is $7/player

Sunday Competition

Graham Tasker won the C Grade medal for August and the stroke event with a nett 61. Chris Elliott won the B Grade with 68 and Chris Ryan took the A grade with 66. The ball rundown included Brett Cooper 66, Mac Fife 66, Russel Lieschke 66 and Josh cooper 68. Nearest the pin was won by Alan Bill on the Mitre 10 hole and Chris Ryan won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s trees 12th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Ron Nunn carded 28 points for the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week leaping ahead of Don Grimston and Josh Cooper, both on 26. Malcolm Young and Greg Maskill both had 25 while Trent Cooper made 23 for the rundown.

Ladies

Joy Leary won the stroke event with nett 72 on Monday in difficult conditions. Beryl Howe took the putting prize with 31 putts and finished with 75 nett in the rundown.  

Juniors

Tully Park juniors return this Saturday for coaching 9 to 10.30am.

Sunday Competition

Russell Lieschke was at his best in great conditions for his 2 over round for 41 points to win the stableford event. Mark Berrisford 39, Don Grimston 37, Tom Heath 37 and Eddie Hawkins made the rundown. Josh cooper won the mystery holes for the Priceline Pharmacy 2nd, Merino Fuels 3rd and Classique Chemdry 10th. Drive and pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st was won by Mark Berrisford and the nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th was won by Tom Heath.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Greg Maskill finally broke through for a win last week when he scored 27 points for the 12 hole event. Alan Bill performed well in the snowy conditions to make 26 and was followed by Ken Wray on 24, Malcolm Young 23, Alan McDonald 23 and John Peterson 23 after a countback.

Ladies

The ladies 4 ball best ball event was won by the team of Julia Scamperli and Beryl Howe with 38 points. The drive and pitch on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was won by Beryl Gray

Juniors

Domonique Brown won the junior chipping and putting competition on Saturday. Tully Park juniors return this Saturday for coaching 9 to 10.30am.
