Tully Park Golf Club 19/05/2019

Note: All competitions to be played off Blue or Red markers until May 24.
Minor Championships
The second round of the minor championships saw Darryn Davis win the mens section with 38.6 nett and Georgina Cook took the ladies’ prize with 46.3. The grade leaders so far are A grade gross and Nett Adam Boxsell 102 and 83.3, B grade gross Bryan Norris 106 and Darryn Davis 83.3, C grade gross Eddie Sivell 120 and nett Ned Slater 80.3, and the Ladies a shared lead between Sharon Scott and Georgina Cook for the gross on 125 and the nett June Spillane 92.6.  Round 3 finishes Friday May 24 at 9am.
Sunday Competition
Russell Lieschke scored 39 poins on Sunday to win the stableford event. Peter Wheeldon had a welcome return for 37 points ahead of Darryn Davis and Tom James both on 35 in a rundown that went to 33 on countback.
Ian Peterson scored when it mattered to take the Mystery holes for May on the Priceline Pharmacy 2nd, Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th and Chris Ryan plumbing 18th with 8 points. Ryan Saville won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club  14th and Adam Boxsell took the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th. 
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Kayne Davis made an excellent return to golf competition with 32 points for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp last week. Next best was Darryn Davis on 30 then Peter Webster on 28 and Wayne James on 27. The 40 person field had a rundown to 23.   This is the last week for everybody off the blue and red markers as this Friday (24th at 9am) is the end of the championship rounds.
Ladies
Georgina cook took division 1 honours last Monday with 33 points while division 2 saw Joy Leary enjoy a return to form with 32 with the rundown to 28. Heather Buchanan was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th.
Notices: Sunday May 26 is Stroke and monthly medal. Next committee meeting has been postponed until June 16. Sunday June 2nd is the 2 Person Ambrose with over $1000 in prizes shared between teh mens mixed and social teams for the day. All social and regular players are welcome. Cost is $15/ player and includes lunch. Big thanks to the course volunteers for their excellent work getting the place ready for these championships.

Minor Championships


Adam Boxsell leads the A Grade after round 1 of the minors with a gross score of 49 . Bryan Norris heads the B Grade with 53 and Ryan Saville the C grade with 60. The nett leaders are Adam Boxsell (39) Bryan Norris (42) and Ned Slater (43). June Spillane leads the Ladies with a gross of 62 and nett 44. Round 2 continues this week.


Sunday Competition


Robert Kelly played well for his 38 points on Sunday to win the stableford event. Eddie Sivell was next best on 37 with Adam Boxsell 36, Trent Cooper 34, Tom James 34 and Darrell Spence 32 (countback). Adam Boxsell also took the nearest the pin for the Capital Country Plumbing 7th and John Smith won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s trees 12th.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Tully junior Ned Slater showed his mettle with 26 points to win the prize last week over the 12 holes. Bryan Norris was hot on his heels on 25 folowed by Peter Webster 23, Alan McDonald 23, Ron Nunn 22 and Tom James 21 on countback.


Multiquip Par 3


Ned Slater won the Par 3 as well this week with a nett score of 25. Thanks to Guymer Glass for their generous donation to the Par 3 event.


Ladies


Last weeks stroke event saw Bev grocott win the division 1 with 74 nett and June Spillane take division 2 with nett 70. The ball rundown went to 77.

Sunday Competition


Adam Boxsell showed everyone how it is done with a nett 61 to win the April Monthly Medal for the A Grade and the stroke event. Darryn Davis was next best on 67 to take the B Grade medal and Brett Cooper scored 70 for the C Grade. In the rundown were Trent Cooper 68, followed by Russell Schmitt, Tom James, Eddie Hawkins and Sam McDonald all on 69. Russell Lieschke won the nearest the pin for the Goulburn Produce and Rural Supplies 5th hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Wayne james made it to the winners circle last week with 29 points to win the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. Showing his recent consistency was Simon Jiang on 28 followed by Ratna rankmore and Brett Cooper both on 26. The rundown went to 23 on countback.

Multiquip Par 3

The May Par 3 event is on this Saturday, May 11, with tee off from 7.30am to 12pm. Cost is only $7 / player and it is open to everyone looking to make a start in golf or sharpen their game.

Ladies


Sharon Scott’s 31 points won her the division 1 stableford event last Monday with Beryl Gray taking out division 2 with 34 points and the nearest the pin on the Priceline Pharmacy 2nd.

Sunday Competition

Congratulations to the RSL Social Golf  club for their overall win in the annual Tully v RSL competition. Chris Ryan and Gurr were the best for Tully with 51 points. 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

John Blair stormed home last week with 31 points to win the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. Anthony Cooper and Alan McDonald both performed well for 27, followed by Bryan Norris and graham Tasker on 26 in a rundown that went to 24.

Tully Park Junior Golf

A win in the final round of the pennants for the Tully Park Gold Creek team was topped off by the local juniors getting them over the line. Nathan Chandola 2 up and 1 to play, Rheannah Webb 7 up and 6 to play and Noah Bricknell 4 up and 2 to play gave the team 3 of its 4 wins over Belconnen finishing up 4 to 2.

Beryl Howe won last weeks stableford event with 32 points and Ratna Rankmore was nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th.  Joy Leary 31 and Georgina Cook 28 were in the rundown.

Sunday Competition

30 points for 9 holes was just enough for Russell Schmitt to get a win in the Best 9 stableford on Sunday to just edge out strong challenges by Ryan Saville on 29 and Shane Cooper with 28. Brett Cooper scored 26 and Russell Lieschke 25 in the rundown. The lucky number draw was won by C Ryan.  John Smith was nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th and Trent Cooper took the Drive and Pitch on Lee and Thomas 13th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Graham Tasker made 27 points for the win in last weeks Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition. Brian Larkin and Josh Cooper both made 25 followed by Tony Grimston on his way through town on 24. Beryl Gray, Eddie Hawkins, Tony Clewett and Michael McPake were in the rundown on 23 on countback.

Ladies

Georgina Cook was the division 1 winner last Monday with 74 nett in the stroke event. Di Schmitt won division 2 with 75 nett. Ratna Rankmore 76 and Beryl Howe 77 were in the rundown. Joy Leary and Beryl Howe (countback) were the best with the putters with 30 and 31 respectively.

Notices: Sunday April 28 is the Tully v RSL at Goulburn. (bring $30) The first round of the Minor Championships commence from Friday May 3 and run for 3 weeks. For these 3 weeks ALL comp players must play off Blue markers. The comp can be played in conjunction with the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole or Sunday competitions. It is a 12 hole stroke event and each round costs $15/ player. The 2/3 handicap sheet is in the clubhouse window.

Sunday Competition

Phil Elliott and ray Turner teamed up to score 82 points in the Stableford Aggregate on Sunday with Chris Webb and Eddie Sivell next best on 74 and Ryan Wilson and Ryan Saville on 71. Gary Spence won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and Jeremy Harrison won the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Gary Spence handled the faster greens well to card 26 points over a struggling field that saw Tony Clewett rue his missed shots on his way to 25 followed by John Blair, Brian Larkin and Michael McPake all on 23. John Peterson and Greg Maskill made 22 to complete the rundown on countback.

Ladies

Bev Grocott took top honours last Monday for the stroke event with a nett 77 while Joy Leary was the best at putting with 33.  Di Schmitt won division 2 with nett 76 and the putting with 32 putts.  The rundown included ratna Rankmore 77, June Spillane 79 and Heather Buchanan on 82.

Multiquip Par 3

Russell Schmitt finished with 25 nett on Saturday for the Par 3 to win the adult section. The junior division was won by Ned Slater with 19. Balls went to Ruth Beveridge, Elsey Slater, Jason Slater, Ron Nunn and Wayne James.

Sunday Competition

Trent Cooper returned to form on his way to 40 points to win the stableford event on Sunday and take out the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th and the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th . Gary Spence and Ron Nunn both returned 38 points while Ryan Saville took the mystery holes for April with 7 points on the Chemdry 10th, Professionals real Estate 15th and Argyle Cleaning 17th and made 37 points for his round. Ray Turner finished off the rundown on 36.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Peter Webster carded 30 points last week for a win in the 12 hole event. Eddie Hawkins made 26 and Brian Larkin 24 followed by Elsey Slater and Ron Nunn both on 22 and Gordon Rankmore on 21.

Tully Park Junior Golf

The Tully Park Gold Creek pennants team suffered another loss on Sunday this time against Fairbairn 4.5 to 1.5.  Ned Slater managed a squared match and Noah Bricknell got his first win. The final junior pennants match is for the season is against Belconnen at Gold Creek on April 28

The stableford event on Monday saw Joy Leary win division 1 with 27 points and Beryl Howe made 23 points for division 2.

This Saturday April 13 is the Par 3 event for April. Tee off 7am to 12pm cost $7/person. Fun for players of all levels.

Sunday Competition

Phil Elliott scored a nett 62 for the stroke event win and the A grade monthly medal. Ken Wray took the B grade with 71 and Ryan Saville the C grade on 70. Also included in the rundown was Chris Elliott (66) and Ray Turner (72) on countback. Chris ryan was nearest the pin for the Goulburn Produce 5th and Chris Elliott won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s trees 12th.

Gordon Rankmore made 29 points to win last week’s $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher ahead of a big field of 37. Sam McDonald and Bryson Plumb both performed well for 28 followed by Don Grimston on 26. Mark Berrisford was next best on 25 in a rundown that went to 21 on countback.

The Tully Park Gold Creek junior pennants team chalked up their second squared match for the comp this time over top team Queanbeyan. Highlight of the day was Nathan Chandola’s first matchplay win 3 up and 2 to play. Rheannah Webb also fared well with her first win of the season 6 & 5. Noah Bricknell lost his match 6 & 5 in a hard fought game. The next junior pennants match is against Fairbairne at Fairbairne on April 7

Sunday Competition

Alan Bill teamed up with Russell Schmitt to win the 4 ball Par event on countback over Gary Spence and Phil Elliot after both teams finished on +8. Tracker Tahana and Adam Boxsell featured with Bryan Norris and Anthony Cooper on + 7 for the rundown. The nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th went to marty Weise and the drive and pitch for the Millenium Windows 1st was won by Russell Lieschke.

Bill Vesty was last weeks winner of the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher on 28 points over Simon Jiang and Alan McDonald both on 27.  In the rundown were mark Berrisford, Mick Gordon and Stephen Rigby all on 24.

Sunday Competition

Sunday’s hotly contested Stableford was won by Russell Lieschke on a 2 card countback over Gary Spence both on 41 points.  Run-down was Eddie Hawkins 39, Mark Berrisofrd 37, and Brett Cooper 36 on a 2 card countback.

Nearest the Pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th was one by Bill Vestry and Drive and Pitch on the Lee & Thomas 13th was won by Gary Spence.  The Mystery Holes – 3rd Merino Fuels, 6th BC Training & 17th Argyle Cleaning was won by Eddie Sivell with 8 points.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

In a high scoring round Brett Cooper fared best for 32 points over the 12 holes with Alan McDonald close behind on 30. Simon Jiang 28, Michael McPake 27, John Peterson 27 and graham Tasker 26 made it into the rundown.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan won the division 1 on 33 points in the Ladies stableford while Ruth Beveridge scored 40 for division 2. Beryl Howe and Beryl Gray were both in the rundown on 32 and Bev Grocott won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th

Tully Park Junior Golf

The local juniors from the Tully Park/ Gold creek junior pennants team squared their match with the heavily favoured Federal team. Noah Bricknell saved the day with a comeback from 3 down with 4 to play and won the match won up giving the team a squared match. Earlier Ned Slater won his match 5 up and 4 to play. The next junior pennants match is against Queanbeyan at Belconnen on March 31.
