Sunday Competition

Ken Wray was back in form for a nett 63 in windy conditions on Sunday to win the Stroke and B Grade monthly Medal for July. Trent Cooper’s 70 won him  the A Grade while Tom James knocked more shots off his handicap with nett 66 for the C Grade medal. Phil Elliott 65 and Russell Schmitt 71 made up the rundown.

Chris Ryan was nearest the pin for the Capital Country Plumbing 7^th and Trent Cooper won the drive and pitch on the Aaron’s Trees 12^th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Tully junior golfer Ned Slater took top honours last week for the 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Competiton with 26 points edging out the consistently performing Margaret Gibson on a countback. Graham Tasker was next best on 23 followed, on 22, Ron Nunn, John Peterson and Don Grimston.

Notices: August 5 Stableford. Players are reminded you can beat the winter frosts by playing on Saturdays for the Sunday competition.  Membership renewals are now due.  A reminder to our Keno 4 Ball Par representatives that the district round is on August 5 at Fairbairn. August 12 is the annual Foursomes championships with both rounds 1 and 2 being played on the day with a lunch included in the $30/person with tee off at 7.30 for all players. The Annual General Meeting on August 19 at 1pm agenda items and nominations for the committee are now being accepted.   August Par 3 event is on Saturday the 11^th with tee off from 8am to 12pm. All new and skilled golfers are welcome.

Ladies

Beryl Howe returned 34 points last Monday to top the ladies in the stableford event. Sharon Scott won the nearest the pin and Martel Maher and Beryl Gray were in the rundown with 31 and 29 respectively.  

Sunday Competition

42 points for Tom James saw him take the win in the stableford event on Sunday 4 ahead of second placed Trent Cooper on 38. Eddie Hawkins 37, Jeremy Harrison 37 (and drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11^th), Russell Lieschke 36 and Ray Turner 34. The Goulburn Produce Mitre Ten nearest the pin on the 5^th remained elusive to all.

Good luck to the teams of Bryan Norris and Anthony Cooper, Shane Cooper and Trent Cooper, the Tully representatives on August 5 in the 4Ball Par event play at Fairbairn for the district finals. Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp

Graham Tasker scored a win with 24 points last week after a countback over Tony Clewett. The ball rundown included John Peterson 23, Margaret Gibson 22, Ron Nunn 22 and Russell Lieschke 21 on countback.

Juniors

Rheannah Webb played well at Murrumbidgee Golf Club in Canberra last week in the junior week of golf scoring 36 points, while Anbarasan Mitchell made an eagle and a few birdies in another junior tournament in the Penrith area.

Ladies

Joy Leary won last weeks stroke event with a net score of 72 and the putting competition with 30. Ruth Beveridge also performed well with net 79 for the round.

Sunday Competition
Trent Cooper proved the best in the icy conditions on Sunday returning a nett 66 for the stroke event. Alan Bill and Tom James both came in with 67 followed by Gary Spence 69 and Don Grimston 71. Nearest the Pin was Gary Spence on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and Ken Wray took the drive and pitch for the Lee and Thomas 13th .

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Russell Schmitt led the way for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event last week with 27 points ahead of a strong field with John Peterson and Don Grimston, both 26, Sharon Scott 25 Chris Ryan and Beryl Gray 24 and Ron Nunn 23 on countback.

Multiquip Par 3
Elsey Slater scored 23 nett to win the Par 3 event on Saturday. It was a great round for this up and coming junior at Tully who only recently got her Ladies handicap.

Sharon Scott won the stableford event on Monday over a field that was tight at the top. Heather Buchanan made 34 points, (and won the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th), while Georgina Cook and Beryl Gray both made 33

Sunday Competition
The cold weather conditions on Sunday, brought 13 starters to the stableford 4BBB. The team of Jeremy Harrison and Gary Spence took out the win on a score of 47 points, close behind them was the team of Josh and Trent Cooper on 46 points then just behind them was John Smith and Ken Wray on 44 points. Jeremy Harrison won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Workers Club 8TH hole and John Smith won the drive and pitch on the Goulburn Carpet Court 16th.

The mid-week competition this week brought 17 players to our course. Darryl Spence took out the win on 24 points on a count back with Kerry Bensley. Next was Peter Webster, Ron Nunn and Don Pennay all on 23 points then Joy Leary came in with 21 points on a count back.

Sunday Competition
A cold frosty morning greeted 15 starters in the par event with Ray Turners +1 being too good for Russell Lieschke, Eddie Hawkins, Gary Spence and Eddy Sivell, all on -1. Gary Spence had a good day taking out the Goulburn Produce Mitre Ten nearest the pin on the 5th and the drive and pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st

Judy Moran was too good for the 16 others starts in this weeks midweek comp with 24 points, followed by Russell Schmitt on 22 points, Ron Nunn on 22, Peter Webster on 21, Bryson Plumb on 21 and Graham Tasker on 20.

Ladies
The Ladies competition ended up with a win to Sharon Scott to win A Grade on 35 points, B Grade was taken out by Beryl Howe on 32 points. The ball run down went to Georgia Cook and Di Schmitt. Joy Leary won the Goulburn Produce Mitre Ten 5th hole nearest the pin.
