Sunday Competition
Russell Schmitt played steadily to win the Stroke event and B Grade Monthly Medal on Sunday with a 63 nett. Graham Tasker returned 64 and Tom Heath 65 (and A Grade winner) followed by Ray Turner 67 and Chris Elliott 67 and drive and pitch winner on the Gordon Hotel 11th . Eddie Sivell took the C Grade nett on 73. Nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th was Russell Lieschke.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Brian Larkin led the way with 29 points for the 12 holes ahead of a high scoring field. Don Grimston and Graham Tasker both made 27 and John Blair and Chris Ryan returned 26 each. Ned Slater rounded off the rundown after a countback and lowered his handicap yet again for his 24 points.
Juniors
Golf Pro Peter Hayhoe will run a clinic for juniors during the school holidays sponsored by the Goulburn Soldiers Club on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm. Cost $20/junior/day call Peter on 0413872785 or the Goulburn Soldiers Club on 48213300 to book a spot.
Ladies
The stableford event last Monday saw Ratna Rankmore the best performer with 39 points to win division 1 while Beryl Howe took division 2 with 33. Georgina Cook won nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th and was in the rundown on 34 followed by Heather Buchanan 30.

September 7 sees the start of the annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition (with thanks to Val Allen) played in conjunction with the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition or the Sunday comp. Players are reminded you can beat the winter frosts for non-championship rounds by playing on Saturdays for the Sunday competition, monthly medals can only be won on the Sunday. Thanks to the hard working volunteers for their efforts with spiking and fertilising the fairways before the rain. Coring is set for this Saturday. Tee markers on the 12th tee are now back to normal.
All players are asked to check the blackboard for changes to play conditions due to the walking track work.
