Sunday Competition
Jack Murdoch and Jesse Cao topped the 40 player field in the 4 ball best ball stableford event on Sunday with 48 points. Anthony Cooper and Bryan Norris teamed up well for second on 45. Teams of Eddie Hawkins/ Russell Lieschke and John Smith/Ray Turner returned 42 points and for the rundown Graham tasker/ Royce Dockett and Tom James / Eddie Sivell on 42 on countback. Josh Cooper took nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th and the Carpet Court drive and pitch on the 16th.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Tom Dunwoodie found some form to score 31 points last week for the win. Mick Regteschot had an impressive 27 followed by a strong ladies contingent of Di Schmitt 26, Nicole Minney, Ratna Rankmore and Elsey Slater all on 25. The rundown went to 21 on countback for the field of 43.
In a battle for the top spot for the Kevin Allen consistency comp, young Elsey Slater regained the lead last week with a 103 total while Ned Slater remained on 100. Mick Regteschot 99 started a late surge and Malcolm Young 93 and Gordon Rankmore still have a good chance to make a more in this final week.
Ladies
Georgina Cook was in the winners circle last week with 34 points to take out division 1 Beryl Howe won division 2 with 23 points. The rundown included Ratna Rankmore 34 and Joy Leary 33.
D.One chicken run
Tom James won the first D.One Accounting chicken run for 2020 after a countback with Jarred Hunt and Bill Reid when all three finished on 19 points.
Slater Drafting Par 3
Cooper Berrell scraped a close win on nett 22 just ahead of up and coming junior Cooper Cargill on 23. John Beveridge 25, Ellie Minney 26, Graham Mansfield 26, and Mick Regteschot, Beryl Gray, Terry Nixon and Noel James all on 27 made the rundown that went to 28 on countback.
Notices: Sunday 2020 Men’s Championships are on Sat/ Sun Oct 17/18 and 24/25. Tee off any time on Saturdays and before 8.30am Sundays. Must have played 10 handicapped rounds through the year to qualify for the overall champion titles. A great effort by our hard working volunteers to get the mowing done after the recent rains, your support is invaluable. Pindone poison is being used on the course so please keep pets away. Also coming up is a mixed foursome event on Oct 31 so get your teams ready. From October the Bi-Rite Xmas Guessing Competition tickets will be available with over $700 in prizes to be won. Prostate Cancer support charity day is Nov 15- a 2 person ambrose. Cost is $15/ player but sorry no luncheon this year. Please help us support local charities and schools.
