Sunday Competition

Wayne Minney scored 37 points on Sunday to win the stableford event. Alan McDonald, Royce Dockett and Mac Fife all made 35 followed by Anthony Cooper, Ray Turner, Sam McDonald and Ryan Saville each had 34 and Tom Heath 33, Ken Wray 33, Lachlan Bill 32 and Trent Cooper 32 made up the rundown.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Ron Nunn turned his game around from recent efforts to score 28 points over the 12 holes to win the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher from the field of 45 players. Gordon Rankmore made 27 followed by, on 25 points, Brian Larkin, Malcolm Young, Trent Cooper, Garry Handley and Wayne Minney. Making up the rundown were the players on 23; Ian Ginn, Stan Geale, Nicole Minney, Elsey Slater, Josh Cooper, Don Pennay, Di Schmitt and Eddie Hawkins.

Minor Championships

The first round of the minor championships has been played and the Division 1 mens winner was Chris Elliott with nett 43, while division 2 winner was Gordon Rankmore with nett 39.66. The Ladies winner was Tully Junior Elsey Slater with 45.33. The leaders after round 1 for the A, B, C and Ladies grades respectively Gross are; Lachlan Bill (45), Chris Elliott (53), Gordon Rankmore (57), Julia Scamperle (56). Nett leaders are John Smith (43.66), Chris Elliott (43), Gordon Rankmore (39.66) and Elsey Slater (45.33). Round 2 is finishes on Thursday afternoon.

Par 3

The next Slater Drafting Service Par 3 is on Saturday May 9 with tee off 7.30 to 12pm. A great way for new players to test their skills.

Ladies

Sharon Scott made 30 points to win division 1 in the ladies stableford on Monday and Beryl gray scored 32 for the division 2 win. The rundown saw Nicole Minney 31, Rheanah Webb 29, and Julia Scamperle 28 take home a ball each.

Tully Park Golf 26/04/20

Sunday Competition

Ian Peterson’s nett 64 (A grade) had him scrape home over Sam McDonald 65 (B Grade) and show the way to 35 others for the stroke event on Sunday. In the rundown and getting the C grade win was Wayne Minney 66, followed by Mac Fife 67, Simon Jiang, John Smith, Chris Elliott, and Phil Elliott all on 68. On 69 were Trent Cooper, Lachlan Bill, and Ken Wray. Michael Wilson had 70 and Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins both finished with 71 nett.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Garry Handley stunned everyone with a 30 point round for the 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Club competition last week. Lachlan Bill was unlucky that his 3 under off the stick was rewarded only with 2nd place. Chris Ryan had 24, followed by Gordon Rankmore, Ratna Rankmore, John Smith, Ron Nunn and Mark Berrisford all on 23. Don Grimston, Brian Larkin, Simon Jiang, Mick Gray and Jason Slater (in his first 12 hole rundown place) all made 22 with Malcolm Young, Beryl Gray, Nicole Minney and Craig Langby in a 6 card countback for the rundown.

Minor Championships

Round 1 of the minor championships is underway and concludes at the end of Thursday. Already the largest field in years sees 2 divisions in the men’s section and one for the ladies with weekly prizes and overalls winners at the end of the year.

Par 3

The next Slater Drafting Service Par 3 is on May 9 with tee off 7.30 to 12pm.

Ladies

Sharon Scott took division 1 top spot last Monday with a nett 71 for the championship round. Nicole Minney recent efforts in the 12 hole Comp held her in good stead for the division 2 honours with 65. Julia Scamperli 73, Jeanelle Slater 73, Ruth Beveridge 74 and Heather Buchanan 75 were all in the rundown. Julia also won the putting for div 1 with 29 while Di Schmitt won the div 2 prize with 32.

Sunday Competition

Trent Cooper was in form on his way to 40 points in Sunday’s stableford event. Jeremy Harrison made 37 and Lachlan Bill 36 in a field of 33 starters. Chris Ryan had 35, while Kerry Bensley, Ray Turner, John Smith and Tom James all made 34. Sam McDonald, Tom Heath and James Douglas all returned 33 followed by Russell Lieschke and Mac Fife 32 with Eddie Hawkins on countback for his 31 for the rundown. Lachlan Bill also took the eagles nest for his 3 on the par 5 Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th hole   

Please note that all Sunday competitions until further notice will be individual stableford or stroke events. 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Terry Nixon took top honours last week with 27 points to win the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher from a field of 43 players. Josh Cooper won the eagles nest on the Chem Dry 10th on his way, along with Mac Fife, to 24 points. Included in the rundown were Eddie Hawkins and Russell Lieschke both on 23, Lachlan Bill, Garry Handley and Alan Bill each with 22, Lindsay Sergeant, John Smith and Phil Elliott with 21, and , Bryan Norris, Chris Ryan , Russell Schmitt, Chris Ryan, Mick Gordon, Mark Berrisford  and Ron Nunn, all on 20 on countback.    

Minor Championships

Minor Championships start from April 24 and each round is run over the week (Fri – Thurs) for the three weeks following. Cost is $15/ person/ round and is played in conjunction with either the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole or an 18 hole event. Each player can only play a championship round once in the week from Friday to Thursday. Playing any other round during the week is the normal comp fee. Remember this is a stroke event so do not pick up for the 12 holes. 2/3 handicaps are in the clubhouse window. There will be nett prizes for divisions 1, 2 and ladies for each round and overall grade gross and nett prizes at presentation. 

Juniors

Sorry but all junior coaching will cease for the current time but will resume when allowed by Golf NSW. Par 3’s will still be on each month as shown on the program.

Ladies

Sharon Scott made 26 points to win division 1 for the Tully Ladies last week with Ruth Beveridge making 28 for division 2. Ratna Rankmore was nearest the pin for the Capital Country Plumbing 7th hole. Heather Buchanan and Beryl Gray both made the rundown with 25 points.

Sunday Competition

Ian Peterson led the way in over the large field of 37 on Sunday with 39 points. Jeremy Harrison made 38, while Kerry Bensley and Tom James both finished with 37. Lachlan Bill 35, Tom Heath and Anthony Cooper both 34 were next best followed by Josh Cooper, Wayne Minney, Ryan Saville, Ray Turner and John Smith all on 33. Chris Ryan, Ken Wray and Sam McDonald each scored 32 in a rundown that went to 31 on countback. Mac Fife managed the best of his game when it counted, over the three mystery holes of the B C Training 6th, Classique Chem – Dry 10th and Argyle Cleaning 17th for 8 points.  

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp

A big week for the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition with 42 starters. Craig Langby was the eventual winner with 26 points followed closely by Malcolm Young and Chris Ryan 25. On 24 were Mick Gray, Mark Berrisford, Jeanelle Slater, Gordon Rankmore and Phil Elliott. Scoring 23 Mick Gordon, Wayne James, Bryan Norris, John Smith, Lachlan Bill, Ratna Rankmore and Ross Stacey with Lindsay Sergeant on 22 on countback making up the rundown.

Ladies

Last weeks stroke event was won by Heather Buchanan for division 1 with nett 73 and Beryl Howe for division 2 with 79. June Spillane 81 and Ratna Rankmore 82 were in the rundown. Joy Leay was the division 1 putting winner with 30. Beryl Howe also won the putting for div 2 with 31.

Sunday Competition

Ray Turner and John Smith team up nicely to take out the American Foursomes at Tully Park Golf Club on Sunday with a nett 64.5. They were followed by a strong field that included Darrell Spence /Kerry Bensley 65, Wayne and Nicole Minney 66.5, Ryan Wilson/ Ryan Saville 66.5, Russell Lieschke/ Eddie Hawkins 67, Josh Cooper/ Mac Fife 67 and Trent Cooper/ Lachlan Bill 68.5.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

A welcome return to the winners circle for Ron Wenban last week as he scored 22 points in a countback win over Russell Schmitt and Wayne Minney. Di Schmitt also made the rundown with 19 points. The 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Club competition is now back in full swing but remember to maintain social distancing and only 2 people to a group.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Cooper Cargill showed how much you can improve with a bit of Tully coaching as he took home the $25 voucher from Slater Drafting. Cooper scored 25 nett to just beat Tom Heath and Ron Nunn both of whom scored 26, and Jeanelle, Jason and Elsey Slater all who made 27. The next Par 3 is on May 9.

Juniors

Sunday Competition

Kerry Bensley showed he knew the contours of the greens on his way to a nett 65 to take the March Monthly medal for the B Grade and win the stroke event on Sunday. Josh Cooper prevailed after a 3 way countback for the A Grade medal over Russell Lieschke and Mark Berrisford when all three finished on 68. Eddie Hawkins took the C Grade medal for his 67. Included in the rundown were Don Grinmston 67, Michael Wilson, Jeremy Harrison and Trent Cooper all on 70, Tom Heath and Adam Boxsell each had 72 and Gary Spence and Ryan Saville both had 73.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Nicole Minney proved to good last week, in a shortened 12 hole comp, coming in with 24 points to take the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. Wanye Minney 23 and Simon Jiang were both close on 23 for the rundown.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The Par 3 has been moved to Saturday April 4 with tee off 7.30 to 12pm.

Notices: Sunday April 5 American Foursomes.  Apologies for having to close the course for a few days. It was necessary for our volunteers to assess the government mandated changes and set out what we were able to/ and willing to do to set up procedures for the running of our volunteers course without placing our valued volunteers at risk.

Sunday Competition

Simon Jiang scored 39 points to win the stableford event on Sunday with Adam Bruckshaw next best on 36. Mc Fife again played well and along with Lachlan Bill and Pete Hayhoe , scored 35 points. Tony Clewett and Anthony Cooper both 34, Eddie Hawkins and Gary Spence both 32, Ron Nunn and Ray Turner both 31 and Russell Lieschke 30 made the rundown. Ray Turner also won the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th hole.

Ladies

Di Schmitt has the lead in Division 1 for the Ladies Championships after round 1 last week saw her return a nett 73. Elsey Slater is in front for division 2 after her nett 67. The rundown included Georgina Cook 76, Ratna Rankmore 79 and Nicole Minney 79. The putting prizes went to Ratna with 28 on countback for Div 1 and Jeanelle Slater for Div 2.

With the junior pennants in Canberra called off Ned Slater made good use of his time in scoring a win in the 12 hole Comp for the Goulburn Soldiers Club with 27 points. Visiting from Canberra Jason Leitao scored 25 and Gordon Rankmore returned 24. Included in the rundown were Bryan Norris 22, and Mick Gordon, Alan McDonald, Stephen Rigby, Mark Berrisford and Di Schmitt all on 21.   Eddie Hawkins, Don Pennay, Peter Webster and Wayne Minney all had 20.

Notices: Sunday March 29 Stroke monthly Medal.   Next month the Slater Drafting Par 3 has been moved forward to April 4 due to easter the following weekend.

Sunday Competition

Trent Cooper was back to his best with a nett 68 on Sunday in the stroke event. Ryan Saville came in with 70 as did Jeremy Harrison along with the nearest the pin on the 5th hole sponsored by Mitre 10. Russell Lieschke had 71, Simon Jiang 72 and Josh Cooper 74 and the Millenium Windows drive and pitch on the 1st.

Ladies

Joy Leary was the best of the Tully ladies last Monday with 27 points in the stableford event. Beryl Gray followed her closely with 26 and Ratna Rankmore came in with 25.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Elsey Slater has shown her formfrom pennants has crossed over to the 12 hole event coming in with 23 points to beat a field struggling with the excessive grass on the course. Greg Maskill, Chris Ryan and Alan McDonald were all right behind her with 22. Ron Nunn made 21, Gordon Rankmore, Ned Slater, Eddie Hawkins and Nicole Minney all made 20 in a rundown that went to 19.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The Slater Drafting Par 3 event was won by Beryl Gray with net 30. Joy Leary was next best with 31 in a wet round. Next month the Par 3 has been moved forward to April 4 due to easter the following weekend.

Juniors

The Tully Park – Belconnen junior pennants team scored a win over the Gold Creek team 4 to 2 on Sunday with Ned Slater winning his match 5 up and 4 to play. Rheannah Webb was unlucky to go down 2 with 1 to play. The next game for the Tully Park players is March 29 at Federal against Gungahlin Lakes.

Tully Park Golf Club 8/03/2020

Sunday Competition

Mac Fife scored his maiden win on Sunday in the Par event after a 3 card countback on -1. John Smith and Phil Elliott also scored -1 followed by Ray Turner and Bryan Norris both on -2 Tom James on -3 and Simon Jiang and Trent Cooper both on -5 on countback. The Workers Club 8th hole nearest the pin was not won but Trent Cooper won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th hole.

Ladies

The Ladies’ opening day for 2020 saw Heather Buchanan win the Division 1 gross with 91 and Joy Leary the nett on 78. For division 2 Beryl Howe won the gross on countback for her 102 and Beryl Gray took the nett on 70. Putting events were won by Heather Buchanan with 31 and Beryl Gray with 29 for each division.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Jeanelle Slater finally made the breakthrough from the Par 3’s to the 12 hole comp podium with 26 points last week. Malcolm Young 25 was again in the hunt with graham Tasker and Ross Stacey both close behind on 24 each. Bryan Norris, Elsey Slater and Gordon Rankmore all made 23, Anthony Cooper 22 and Ron Nunn, Bryson Plumb and Mitchell Clark all had 21 on countback for the rundown. Mitchell Clark also had an eagle on the ChemDry 10th hole and takes the eagles nest.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The Slater Drafting Par 3 event is on this Saturday 14 March at Tully with tee off from 7.30 to 12pm. Cost is only $7 /person and novices to regular golfers are welcome to have a go.

 

Notices: Sunday March 15 Stroke. R Nunn was the lucky number winner with 46. Good luck to Ned Slater, Elsey Slater and Rheannah Webb this Sunday as they play Gold Creek at the Gold Creek course in Canberra.

Sunday Competition

The stableford event on Sunday was won by Graham Tasker with 38 points. Coming in with 35 were Mark Berrisford, Jeremy Harrison and Chris Elliott followed by Mac Fife 33, Sam McDonald 32, Michael Wilson 32 and Simon Jiang, Eddie Hawkins and Gary Spence on 31 on countback.

The Nearest the Pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was won by Phil Elliott while Chris Ryan won the Drive and Pitch for the Gordon Hotel 11th .

Ladies

The Tully Ladies played a Par event last Monday which saw June Spillane take out the Division 1 with -8 and di Schmitt took division 2 with -3. The rundown included Ruth Beveridge -4, Beryl Howe -7 and Beryl Gray -7.

Juniors

The Tully juniors played at Royal Canberra against Fairbairne with Elsey Slater notching up another win 2 up while Ned Slater and Rheannah Webb were both unlucky to go down 3 with 2 to play. The team finished going down 4 to 2. Their next match in March 15 against Gold Creek at Gold Creek. Tully Park junior golf coaching return this Saturday from 8.30 to 10am.
