Sunday Competition

A welcome return to form for Russell Lieschke with a 40 point round in Sunday’s stableford event. Alan McDonald also played well for 37 followed by Chris Elliott, Phil Elliott, Eddie Sivell, Max Sakiasi and Chris Ryan all on 35. On 34 were Gary Spence and Michael Wilson and finishing off the rundown on a countback was James Will on 33. Chris Elliot won the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin on the 14th and Mark Berrisford took the Carpet Court drive and pitch on the 16th. There were 33 players.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Wayne Brown stunned all with 26 points for the 12 holes last week to win the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. Brian Larkin scored 25 points with Brett Buckley on 24. On 23 were Gordon Rankmore and Jeanelle Slater and following on 22 were Michael Brown, Mick Gordon, John Smith, Wayne James, Don Pennay and Simon Jiang. After a countback Ned Slater and Eddie Hawkins got a ball each on 21. There were 39 starters.

Ladies

Rheannah Webb took charge last week with 43 points to win Division 1 , she also took the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th. Jeanelle Slater scored 25 points to win division 2. In the rundown for the day were Georgina Cook 32, Ratna Rankmore 27, Di Schmitt 25 and June Spillane 24.

Pennants

The mens B grade handicap pennants team , sponsored by Fife Stockfeeds, went down 6 to 0 against the RMC team at Gold Creek on Sunday. Tully juniors Ned Slater and Elsey Slater played in the combined junior team with Belconnen against Yowani and went down 3.5 to 2.5. Elsey won her match 2 up and Ned went down 5 and 4 in his.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Wayne Minney won the adults section of the Slater Drafting Par 3 with nett 24 after a 3 card countback and Flynn Wilson took out the junior section after a countback over Cooper Cargill when both finished with nett 18. Along with Cooper the rundown included Di Schmitt 24, Jason Slater 24, Angus O’Brien 25, Alan Gray 25 and Adam Wilson 25.

Sunday Competition

Forty-six starters lines up for the 2 person ambrose on Sunday with Michael Brown and Nathaniel Ryan leading the charge on 57.75. Jon Gegg and Trent Cooper were close behind on 58.5 then Mick Regterschot and Bill Reid on 59.25. Alan Bill and Russell Schmitt finished nett 63 then Simon Jiang/ Darryn Davis 63.75, Gary Spence / Michael Wilson 63.75, Bruce Dunlop/ Alan McDonald 64.5 and Chris Toole/ Kirby Croker 64.5. Nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 fifth was Wayne Minney and on the Capital Country Plumbing was Ray Turner.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Simon Jiang won on countback over Bryan Norris after a countback last week after both scored 25 points. Greg Maskill and Ratna Rankmore both made 24 while on 22 were John Smith, Tony Clewett and Stephen Rigby. Alan McDonald and Eddie Hawkins finished the rundown on 21 after a 4 card countback.

Ladies

Tully ladies played a stableford for their return for 2021 last Monday and Ratna Rankmore won division 1 with 32 points while Jeanelle Slater won division 2 with 31 points. June Spillane and Beryl Gray made up the rundown both on 28. Beryl Howe won the nearest the pin on the 5th.

Pennants

The Tully B grade handicap team went down in their first match for the 2021 season against Goulburn. Jeremy Harrison scored a win 1 up while in close matches Mac Fife finished down 1, Adam Boxsell and Sam McDonald were both 2 down and 1 to play (2 and 1), Josh Cooper was down 3 and 2 and Tom James finished down 4 and 3. The team’s next match is against RMC at Gold Creek.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The February Slater Par 3 is on from 7am to 12pm this Saturday Cost is $7/ player. It is a great way to start at golf.

After a 3 card countback Chris Toole was victorious in the stroke monthly medal taking out the A grade with 66 nett and taking out the Drive and Pitch on Ginny’s Building and Carpentry 1st .  Eddie Sivell won B grade with 67 and Graham Tasker took C grade with 69. Making up the rundown for the day were James Will 66, Trent Cooper 66, Ray Turner 68, Simon Jiang 71, Tom Heath 71 and Josh Cooper 71 after a 5 card countback. The Workers Club nearest the pin was not won on the 8th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Ryan Wilson had a welcome return to form last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event with 26 points for the win. Alan Bill made 25 followed by Lindsay Sergeant and Andrew Cole both on 24. Gary Spence had 22 and on 21 Ken Wray, Lachlan Bill, Russell Schmitt and Josh Lumsdon.

Ladies

Tully Ladies have return on Feb 1 at 8.30 for a 9am tee off and for 12 holes Tuesday Feb 2nd.

Juniors

Tully Juniors return on Feb 6 for coaching 8.30am to 10am.

Sunday Competition

John Smith led the way with 40 stableford points on Sunday in hot conditions. Tony Clewett, Ray Turner and Adam Bruckshaw each finished with 37 ahead of Simon Jiang and Max Sakiasi both on 36 and Chris Toole on 35. Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was Simon Jiang and the Gordon Hotel Drive and Pitch 11th was won by Chris Ryan.

Mystery holes on the Merino Fuels 3rd, B C Training 6th and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th was won by Max Sakiasi on 8 points after a 3 card countback.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Simon Jiang took the $25 voucher last week with 28 points for the 12 hol Goulburn Soldiers Club event. Malcolm  Young 27 and Graham Tasker 26 were both close behind. Don Pennay scored 25, Chris Ryan 24, Mick Regterschot 23 along with Ratna Rankmore, Russell Lieschke and Trent Cooper each on 22 (after a 7 card countback) made up the rundown.

Ladies

Tully Ladies return on Feb 1 at 8.30 for a 9am tee off.

Hoping the best is yet to come as the pennants approaches, the team of Josh Cooper and Mac Fife sparked to score 50 points for the 4 ball best ball stableford on Sunday at Tully. Mac Finished as the individual winner for the day with 46. Making up the rundown were the teams of Jon Gegg/Mick Regterschot 49, Don Grimston/ Ken Wray 45, Max Sakiasi/ Tony Clewett 44, Tom Heath/ Chris Ryan 44, Wayne Minney/ Nicole Minney 43 and Trent Cooper/ Angus Regterschot 43 (on a 3 card countback) . Dean Gray shot an eagle on the Bio-Cleanse 10th and won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s Trees 12th, and  Chris Toole won the Capital Country Plumbing nearest the pin on the 7th.

Brett Buckley has started his competition golf pastime in good form returning a 31 point round for the weekly 12 Goulburn Soldiers Club hole event last week. Next best tied on 28 were Scott Sherer and Don Pennay. Di Schmitt, Gordon Rankmore and Graham Mansfield each finished with 25 and Stephen Rigby concluded the rundown on 24.

Ben Elliott scored 26 points for his best 9 holes in the stableford Max 9 on Sunday. Close behind on 24 were Chris Elliott, Jon Gegg, Darrell Spence and Lindsay Sergeant, on 23 were Max Sakaisi, Alan McDonald, Bill Reid and Ryan Saville.

Chris Elliott won the Mitre 10 nearest the pIn on the 5th and Trent Cooper took the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch on the 13th and the eagles nest for his 3 on The Agency 15th hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Lindsay Sergeant took top honours last week with 26 points for the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. The rundown included Don Grimston and Peter Webster both on 25, Stephen Rigby, Mark Berrisford , Jack Murdoch and Alan McDonald all on 24 and Garry Handley, Bryson plumb and John Smith each on 23.

Slater Drafting par 3

Alan McDonald was on song for the first Slater Drafting Par 3 for 2021 with a nett score of 23. Jarrod Stacey, Alan Bill and young gun Cooper Cargill all had 26 with Ron Nunn, Wayne Minney and Noel James all on 27 for the rundown.

Starting the year in the best way possible Tim Elliott carded 43 points for Sunday’s stableford event to take the first win for the 2021. Mick Regterschot came in with 39 followed by Gary Spence and Tom James both on 38. Alan McDonald had 34 for the rundown. Jon Gegg was nearest the pin for the Workers Club 8th and Simon Jiang took the drive and pitch n  the Carpet Court 16th.

Finishing the year with a bang Kerry Bensley produced his best performance with 3 chip -in birdies in his extraordinary round of 33 points for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event. Also putting in the big ones were Angus Regterschot on 31, Simon Jiang 30 and Don Grimston 28 in what proved to be a high scoring round. Making up the rundown were Mark Berrisford, John Smith, Lindsay Sergeant, Stephen Rigby and Mick Regterschot all on 26 and Russell Schmitt on 25 after a countback.

Finally reaching his potential, Josh Lumsdon set a high bar in his first win with a nett 59 on Sunday in the stroke monthly medal round, taking the C grade medal in the process. Chris Ryan won the A grade medal with 66 and Russell Schmitt took the B grade with 66. Also in the rundown were Tim Elliott 64, Tony Clewett 66 and Gary Spence 67 on a countback.  The Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin on the 14th was won by Ian Peterson and the drive and pitch for Ginny’s Building and Carpentry 1st hole was won by Lachlan Bill.

Bryan Norris saved his best for last with a year ending 29 points for the 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers club competition. Tim Elliott and Alan McDonald both performed well for their 26 point rounds while Anthony Cooper, Tom James and Mick Regterschot all had 24. Tony Clewett and Jack Murdoch finished off the rundown on 23 after a countback.

Trent Cooper blasted 2 eagles on his way to a 42 point round (a 5 under 63 off the stick) to get a countback win over Tony Grimston on Sunday. Bill Reid performed well to male 40 points followed by Mark Berrisford 38, Tony Clewett 38, Ray Turner 37 and Darrell Spence and Ken Wray both on 36 in the field of 31.

Nearest the pin was won by Jon Gegg on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th and the drive and pitch went to Lachlan Bill on the Gordon Hotel 11th. Mystery Holes for December went to Phil Elliott with 9 on the Merino Fuels 3rd, Chem Dry 10th and The Agency 15th.

Beryl Gray showed the way with a return to form 30 points for the 12 holes last week leaving the field of 23 in her wake. Greg Maskill made a very respectable 28, Mark Berrisford 26, Russell Schmitt 25 in a rundown that went to 23.

Darryn Davis, Josh Tull, Rob Scott and Tom Dunwoodie teamed up to win the 4 person ambrose for gala Day with a nett score of 51.9. Mick Regterschot, Trent Cooper Josh Lumsdon and Mac Fife were next on 52.9 then Tim Elliott, James Will, Jon Gegg and Chris Arnold 53.5. On 54.4 were the team of Chris Webb, Rheannah Webb, John Smith and Ray Turner and finishing off the rundown were Anthony Cooper, Shane Cooper, Josh Cooper and Bryan Norris on 55 after a countback.

Nearest the pins on the day went to Lachlan Bill (Priceline 2nd) Ray Turner (5th – Mitre 10), Ken Wray (Workers Club 8th) and  Ned Slater (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th)

Chris Ryan played one of his best games for the year with 28 points for the 12 holes. Also high in the scoring list were Eddie Hawkins, Ron Nunn and Jack Murdoch each scoring 27. On 26 was James Will and on 25 were Wayne James, Lindsay Sergeant and Stephen Rigby.

D.One Chicken Run

Logan Dial took the win for the final D.One Chicken Run for 2020 with 29 points. Tom James was next best on 18 followed by James Will on 16. Thanks to D.One Accounting for their sponsorship of the event.

Notices:  Sunday Dec 20 Stableford.  The Bi-Rite Xmas guessing competition first prize valued at $500 was won  by K Houlahan, the $200 voucher for 2nd went to A Reilly and A Cooper won the $100 Merino Fuels voucher.
