Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Brett Buckley returned to the winners podium last week with 26 points for his round. Phil Heath set a challenge as well with his 25 followed by ben Pearson and Russell Lieschke both on 24. The rundown went to 20 with a 4 card countback.

Ladies

Georgina Cook returned a nett 80 last week to win division 1 and take the putting with 31. Beryl Howe showed she still has it with a win in division 2 scoring 83 and won the putting there with 32. Elsey Slater and Maxine Mclaughlin were both in the rundown with 81 each.

BioCleanse 2 person Ambrose

Mark Berrisford and Russ Schmitt have back to back wins in the Biocleanse 2 person ambrose with a nett 45.8 last week. Mick Gordon and Wayne James can also hold their heads high with second place with 51.8. There is only a couple more weeks of this event so anyone wanting to take the challenge the cost is only $7 each.

Sunday Competition

Lachlan Bill and Jennaya Otaway won the social division of the Brian Mills Charity Day 2 person ambrose with a nett score of 60 for the par 73. Holly Beard and Brandon Courts also teamed up well for nett 63 and Tim Redman and Adam Gordon took third with 73. The mens division was won by Trent Coopper and Jon Gegg with 66.75 followed by Mitch Cook and Josh Ryrie 69.5 and Mick Regterschot and Tim Elliott on 69.5 in second and third after a countback. The rundown went to 72.25 on a countback. Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was won by Eddie Sivell and the team drive and pitch was won by Max Sakiasi / Simon Jiang in the mens getting 1.55m and Holly Beard / Brandon Courts with 1.2m for the social.

A full list of results is in the results slots on the clubhouse wall. Tully raised $2310 to be shared between Goulburn South and Goulburn East Primary Schools and the Goulburn and District Prostate Cancer Support Group.

Ladies

The Ladies Foursome Championships, played over 2 days, were won by the team of Elsey Slater and Beryl Howe with an overall gross of 201. The nett winner over the competition were Beryl Grey and Georgina Cook on 143. The individual round winner were Elsey Slater and Beryl Howe on nett 68 for round 1 and Holly Beard and Joy Leary on 74 for round 2.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

John Smith showed the way, in a rain interrupted week, with 27 points to take the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. Stan Geale and Greg Maskill were next best on 23 followed by Graham Mansfield, Ben Pearson and Chris Ryan each on 21.

BioCleanse 2 person Ambrose

Mark Berrisford and Russ Schmitt teamed up for a 44.9 nett score in the Biocleanse 2 person ambrose last week. Bryan Norris and Chris Norris put in a good performance for their first match up in the comp with 46.5 and Mick and Helena Regterschot were next best on 46.75. The third week is now underway with only 6 weeks in total you should get your teams out there and see how you go.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The final Slater Drafting Par 3 event was held in less than favourable conditions on Saturday. The winner for the day was Noel James with a nett 28.  The event will return in 2022 in January. The new calendar is available at the clubhouse.

Sunday Competition

Congratulations to Tully Park junior Anbarrasan Mitchell who has taken the title of A Grade champion for 2021 after a playoff against defending champion Trent Cooper.  Both players had finished on a gross total of 296 and went to two holes to determine the winner. The Mexican team event was cancelled due to the rain.

Don’t forget to book for tee times for next Sunday’s Charity 2 Person Ambrose.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Simon McDonald won the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event last week with 28 points with Malcolm Young close behind on 27 and Stephen Rigby next on 26. On 25 were Max Sakiasi and Beryl Gray, Brian Larkin had 24 and Ben Pearson and Mark Berrisford made up the rundown on 23.

Ladies

The annual Captains v Presidents event was held last week with the Presidents’team victorious in a close match up of 201 to 199. For the captain’s team Maxine Mclaughlin came in with 41 points while the best for the President’s team was Georgina Cook on 38. Elsey Slater and Georgina Cook won the nearest the pins for the day and the rundown included Joy Leary on 37 and Holly Beard on 34.

BioCleanse 2 person Ambrose

The first week of the Biocleanse 2 person ambrose saw J ames Will and Jesse Cao team up best for a nett 38.5. Jon Gegg and Mac Fife were next on 41 followed by Russ Schmitt and Alan Bill on 41.4. The weekly event will run until Dec 9 . It can be played any day so check the notices in the clubhouse window for details.

AGM November 7th

Sunday Competition

A playoff will be held on Saturday to determine the A grade champion for 2021 after a tie between Trent Cooper and Anbarrasan Mitchell on Sunday. A Grade nett champion is Jeremy Harrison on 269. B Grade gross champion is John Smith 326 and nett is Ken Wray 274. C Grade was won by Alan McDonald 360 and Darrell Spence took the nett on 275

Round 3 of the championships saw wins for Russell Lieschke 64 nett (Div 1), Ken Wray 67 nett (div 2) and Hamish McCormack 65 (div 3). The rundown included  John Smith 66, Tony McLaughlin 67, Kerry Bensely 67 and went to 70 nett.

Round 4 had Jeremy Harrison 65 the best for division 1, Max Sakiasi 62 took division  2 and Bill Reid won division 3 on 66. The rundown included Russell Schmitt 67, John Smith 67, Ian Baxter 68 and Tom Heath 68 and went to 72 with a 4 card countback. Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th hole was won by Trent Cooper  and the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch was picked up by Anbarrasan Mitchell

47 starters took part in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition last week with Michael Brown finishing on top with 27 points. Beryl Gray played well for her 26 with daryl Holder and Russ Schmitt both on 25. Alan McDonald and Chris Deegan both came in with 24 in a rundown that went to 23.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin scored 36 points for the win in the Ladies stableford event for division 1 last week. Beryl Howe took division 2 with 32 with the rundown including Ratna Rankmore 35, Georgina Cook 34 and Joy Leary 33. Georgina cook was nearest the pin for the Jeremy Ryan Plumbing hole.

Sunday Competition

The first 2 rounds of the Championships has seen 46 starters each round for the 3 divisions taking advantage of the course at its best. Round 1 winners were Tom Heath 64, Brandon Courts 65 and Ian Baxter 64 with the rundown going to 68. Round 2 winners were Anbarrasan Mitchell 68, Simon Jiang 66 and Roly Wong 64 with the rundown to 71. Nearest the pin for the Jeremy Ryan Plumbinghole was Gary Spence and the drive and pitch for the D.One Accounting hole went to Max Sakiasi.

Leaders for the overall titles so far are: Gross – Trent Cooper and Anbarrasan Mitchell tied on 140 for A grade, John Smith 165 for B grade, Bill Reid 179 for C grade.  Nett – Jeremy Harrison 133 (A) , Brandon Courts 133 (B) , and Roly Wong 130 (C  ).

A high scoring round saw Jeremy Harrison scape home with a countback win in the 12 hole comp last week scoring 30 points along with Elsey Slater. Mark Berrisford came in with 28 ahead of Josh Ryrie and Daryl Holder both on 27 for a rundown that went to 22 on a 4 card countback. There were 71 starters. The Goulburn Soldiers club 12 hole competition runs every week of the year.

Her high scoring final round got Elsey Slater over the line for the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition for this year on 106 points. Don Grimston was still up there finishing in second place on 102 and Jon Gegg took third on 101.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin and Beryl Howe both scored 72 nett to take the division 1 and 2 respectively in the stroke event for the ladies last week. The rundown included Elsey Slater 73, Joy Leary 73 and Georgina Cook 74. Putting prizes went to Di Schmitt and Beryl Gray both having 31.

Notices:  Stroke for the Championships off the Blue markers for Oct 30/31 for all G.A handicap males and to qualify for the overall titles you need at least 10 handicapped rounds over the 12 months to Oct 23 (there are prizes for individual rounds). Sunday Competition

Russell Lieschke was the best of the 38 player field with 37 points for the stableford event  heading into the championships next weekend. Ian Baxter took second prize with 36. Gary Spence headed up the rundown with 35 followed by Chris Ryan 34, then Max Sakiasi , Alan Bill, Tom James, and Russell Schmitt all on 33. Darrell Spence and John Smith both 32 and Michael Wilson and Tony Clewett both 31 in a 4 card countback made up the rundown. Nearest the pi on the Mitre 10 hole was Chris Ryan and Gary Spence won the drive and pitch on the Aaron’s trees hole. Tom James won the mystery holes for October for his 8 points on the BioCleanse, The Agency and Chris Ryan Plumbing holes.

New Tully member Daryl Holder won last weeks $25 voucher from the Goulburn Soldiers Club with 28 points in a 67 strong field. On 26 were Craig Langby, Ratna Rankmore, Max Sakiasi, Beryl Howe, Lindsay Sergeant and Jon Gegg. On 25 were Elsey Slater, Alan Bill, Maxine McLaughlin, Stan Geale, Trent Cooper, Brandon Courts, Josh Cooper and Don Grimston in a rundown that went to 23 for a 7 card countback.

With the final round underway in the Kevin Alen Consistency Competition this week will be crucial. Don Grimston still leads on 102 just ahead of Jon Gegg and Elsey Slater both on 98. Still close are Alan Bill, Lindsay Sergeant and Trent Cooper on 97 and with 9 scores in the 90’s the top 3 spots are still up for grabs.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore took division 1 honours last week after a countback over Di Schmitt with both on nett 71. Beryl Howe won division 2 with 69. Ratna and Beryl both won their division putting with 32 and 31 respectively. The rundown included Di Schmitt 71, Ruth Beveridge 71 and Maxine McLaughlin 74.

Sunday Competition

Max Sakiasi finished with 40 points to lose another 2 shots off his handicap in the stableford event on Sunday. Jeremy Harrison ended in second place after a countback over Anbarrasan Mitchell  both on 39.  The rundown included AlanMcDonald 38, Tom heath, Andrew Balabka, Roly Wong, Ian Baxter, Paul Wray and Gary Spence all on 37 in a rundown that went to 36.  Alan Bill won the Carpet Court drive and pitch while Mark berrisford was nearest the pin for the Workers Club.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Trent Cooper finished on top after a 5 card countback for first place in the 67 strong field after finishing with 26 points. Also on 26 were Alan Bill, Jane Kilmister, Andrew Balabka and Ben Pearson. On 25 was Mac Fife followed by Mick Regterschot, Holly Beard and Ruth Beveridge all on 24. The rundown went to a 10 card countback on 21.

With the first 4 rounds completed of the Kevin Alen Consistency Competition it is getting tight at the top. Don Grimston still leads on 96 just ahead of Trent Cooper and Elsey Slater both on 95. Still close are Alan Bill on 93 and on 90 Mick Regterschot, Bryan Norris, Alan McDonald and Joy Leary.  Round 5 of the 6 week comp is currently under way. Elsey Slater took division 1 last week for the ladies with 35 points while Jane Kilmister won division 2 on 41 points. In the rundown were Ratna Rankmore 34, Beryl Gray 33 and Ruth Beveridge 33. Nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole  was Maxine McLaughlin.

Slater drafting Par 3

Continuing her recent good form Elsey Slater won the adult Par 3 competition with a nett 22 after a countback win over brother Ned. The junior category was won by Cooper Cargill with 20. Included in the rundown for the 33 player field were Flynn Wilson 22, Adam Wilson 23, Wayne Murdoch 24, Beryl Howe 24. The rundown went to 26 on countback. Next month is the final Slate Drafting Par 3 for the year.

Sunday Competition

Visiting Tully to kick off his competitive golfing Jordan Gregory will be checking his handicap after carding 43 points in the stableford event for a win over the 49 strong field. Also impressive on the day was Adam Bruckshaw with a hole-in-one on the Mitre 10 hole. Ray Turner carried the locals with 39 points for second place followed by Alan Bill, Roly Wong, and Graham tasker all on 38. Jon Gegg, Angus Regterschot and Lindsay Sergeant all had 37 in a rundown that went to 35. James Will won the Jewell Builder nearest the pin and Chris Elliott was closest for the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas hole.

59 starters played in a rain affected week and in a high scoring round it was Alan McDonald who triumphed after a 3 card countback on 28. Lindsay Sergeant and Greg Maskill also scored 28 ahead of Joy Leary, Josh Ryrie, Don Grimston and Ben Pearson all on 27. Tim Elliott and Graham tasker both scored 26 in a rundown that went to Chris Arnold on 23 in a 4 card countback.

The half way mark of the Kevin Allen Consistency Comp sees Don Grimston in the lead on 77 followed by  Elsey Slater with 73. Tied for third are Joy Leary, Josh Ryrie and Bryan Norris , all on 70. Round 4 of the 6 week comp is currently under way. The prize vouchers of $100 (with thanks to Val Allen), $60 and $30 will be awarded at the end.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan and Di Schmitt both finished on 32.33 nett for division 1 in the Choice 9 competition and Beryl Howe took division 2 with 35 nett. Putting prizes went to Di Schmitt 28 and Beryl Howe with 31.

Slater drafting Par 3

The October round of the Slater drafting Par 3 is on this Saturday Oct 9 with tee off from 7.30am to 11am. Cost is $7/ player and all are welcome to have a go.

Sunday Competition

Damien O’Brien shone for his first competition round with a nett 60 to win the C Grade and take the September Monthly Medal. Andrew Balabka was next best with 61 followed by Mitch Cook 64, Trent Cooper 66 and A grade winner, Tom James (B Grade winner) and Ryan Wilson both on 67. The rundown for the 48 starters went to 71. Trent Cooper managed 2 eagles one each on the Merino Fuels 3rd and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th as well as the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th. Chris  Ryan won the drive and pitch on Ginny’s Building and Carpentry 1st.

Breaking records again at Tully, 71 starters played in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp and the second round of the Kevin Allen Consistency. Last week’s winner on 28 points was Don Grimston with a strong field close behind including Helena Regterschot, Tom Heath, and Ruth Beveridge all on 27. On 26 were Adam Bruckshaw, Elsey Slater and Kade Watling followed by Beryl Howe and Tony Clewett both on 25 in a rundown that went to 21 for a 6 card countback.  Leading after round 2 are Jon Gegg and Elsey Slater both on 51 while Don Grimston and Bryan Norris are next best both on 50.

The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Comp has commenced and round 3 of the 6 week comp is under way. The prize vouchers of $100 (with thanks to Val Allen), $60 and $30 will  be awarded at the end.

A field of 43 players contested the stableford event on Sunday to see Don Grimston handle the conditions best for his 40 points. Andrew Tivey won on countback for second place with 35 over Tom James who also managed the drive and pitch on Aaron’s trees 12th. The rundown commenced with Gary Spence, Jon Gegg and Alan McDonald all on 34, Josh Cooper, Alan Bill, Mitch Cook, Paul Wray and Eddie Sivell all on 33 and after a 7 card countback Mark Berrisford, Trent Cooper, Simon Jiang and Russell Lieschke all on 32. Russ Schmitt won the Mitre 10 nearest the pin on the 5th.

With the biggest field ever of 67 for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition and the Kevin Allen consistency comp it is looking like being a tough challenge for all who take part, and this is only round 1. Jon Gegg stamped his name as the one to chase returning 30 points ahead of Roy McNair on 27. On 26 were Bryan Norris and Ryan Wilson, followed by Stan Geale, Elsey Slater, Mark Berrisford and Alan Bill all on 25. The rundown went to 22 in an 8 card countback. This is still anyone’s race.

The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Comp has commenced and runs for another 5 weeks. The best round for a player each week in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp  is included and the best 4 of these over the 6 weeks count towards the prize vouchers of $100 (with thanks to Val Allen), $60 and $30.
