Sunday Competition

Mick Gray took the August Monthly Medal and A grade win for his nett 67 on Sunday in the stroke event. Ryan Saville won B Grade with nett 68 and Roly Wong was the best of the C Grade with nett 73. Included in the rundown were Russell Lieschke 69, Tony McLaughlin 71, Russ Schmitt 72 Ian Peterson 72 and in a 7 card countback on 73 Roly Wong, Ken Wray, Mac Fife and Chris Ryan. The Jackpot hole was won by Mac Fife only 10mm from the hole on the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole.. Wayne Minney won the Jewell Builders nearest the pin hole and Tom James won the drive and pitch on D.One Accounting.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

The handicapper paid Tom Minney a visit after his 32 points and Julie Hearne for her 28 points for the 12 holes last week. It was a good return to golf for Tom since starting as a Tully junior and having had a considerable break. Julie Hearne is only new to golf and has shown she has a lot of potential. Marty Smith returned 26, Greg Maskill and Lindsay Sergeant both had 25 and Mick McDonald and Wayne Pull each had 23 in a rundown that went to 21. Kevin Allen Consistency Competition starts Friday Sept 9.

Ladies

Jenni Price has shown she is a force to be reckoned with after a nett 65 in last weeks Ladies stroke event. Heather Buchanan had 72, Maxine Mclaughlin 73 and Frances Miners 74 for the rundown. Di Schmitt won the putting with 30.

Ladies

The Ladies Foursome Championships for 2022 were won by the team of Heather Buchanan and Ruth Beveridge on 221 gross for the two rounds. Joy Leary and Beryl Howe took the nett prize on 160.

Sunday Competition

Bryan Norris and Anthony Cooper teamed up for the 4 ball stableford aggregate to get a win with 67 points on Sunday. Teams of Ken Wray/ Tony Clewett and Eddie Hawkins and Russell Lieschke came in with 65 and Alan McDonald/ Lindsay Sergeant had 64 for the rundown. Alan Bill managed to win the jackpot on the Workers Club hole while, Tom Minney won the mystery holes for August on the BC Training, Goulburn Soldiers club and Argyle Cleaning holes. Russell Liechke won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s trees and Eddie Hawkins took the nearest the pin on Jeremy Ryan Plumbing.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Maxine McLaughlin showed the depth of family golf skills with 26 points last week for her first 12 hole win.  Max Sakiasi played well for 23 followed by Chris Elliott on 22. On 21 were Brett Buckley, Scott Sherer, Russell Lieschke, Tony McLaughlin, Ian Baxter and Eddie Hawkins. Finishing the rundown on 20 were Don Pennay and Julie Hearne.

Notices:  Sunday August 28 Stroke Monthly Medal. The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition starts Friday Sept 9. The Special Meeting is set for Sept 11 at 1pm in a bid to find a secretary and captain for the club.

At the AGM on Sunday, as no one has accepted the roles of Secretary or Captain a special meeting is being called for September 11 at 1pm to appoint willing candidates to the positions or (as required under the constitution) begin proceedings toward a dissolution the Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club.

The interim committee for 2022/23 are: President Chris Webb, Treasurer Di Schmitt, Vice President Joe Fehir, Committee: Ken Wray, Gary Spence, Tom James, Roland Wong, Max Sakiasi, Russell Schmitt, Brett Buckley .

Sunday Competition

Tom James played well in the still damp conditions for 33 points to win Sunday’s stableford event. Mark Berrisford came second with 32 after a countback over Max Sakiasi. Roly Wong and Ron Nunn each had 30 for the rundown.

The Priceline jackpot will carry over, Ian Peterson won the Jewell Builders nearest the pin, Russell Lieschke won the drive and pitch on the Aaron’s trees hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Tony McLaughlin showed his in-depth knowledge of the course when he returned 30 points for the 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Club competition last week. Daylight behind to next best for Julie hearne and Matthew James. Malcolm Young had 23, Eddie Hawkins and Russell Lieschke each 22, Mark Berrisford 21 and Di Schmitt, Phil Heath and Marty Smith all on 20.

Ladies

Di Schmitt put it all together for the ladies having 34 points last week. Maxine McLaughlin came in on 30. Mystery Holes for the D.One Accounting, Carpet Court and Scott Reid Plumbing holes was Di Schmitt on 7 points.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Glenn Baxter won his first prize at Tully for his nett 20 in the Slater Drafting Par 3 event on Saturday. Tom Minney on 27 and Noel James on 29 after a countback.

Sunday Competition

Tom Heath and Chris Ryan won the Canadian Foursome event on Sunday at Tully with a nett 69.9. Eddie Hawkins and Russell Lieschke were close behind on 70.Trent Cooper and Brandon Courts finished 70.25 and Jeremy Ryan and Ray Turner teamed up for 73.75. Trent Cooper won the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole and Mick Regterschot was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole.

There will be a re-union group out after the competition next Sunday so competition carts will have to go out at 7am to be back in time. Also the AGM is on with committee positions vacant and needing to be filled. The AGM starts at 1pm so come along and see what is happening at Tully.

Dean Hearne took top honours on the podium with 27 points last week. Russell Schmitt returned 26 points just edging Julie Hearne on 25. Tony Clewett and Ray Turner each had 24 followed by Andrew Cole and Eddie Hawkins each on 23. On 22 to finish the rundown in a 7 card countback were Graham Tasker, John Blair and Eddie Anning.

Ladies

Maxine Mclaughlin managed a nett 70 round to win the stroke event for the ladies last week. Beryl Howe was next best on 76. Beryl also won the putting comp with 32 putts.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The August round of the Slater Drafting Par 3 is on this Saturday with tee off from 7.30am to 11am. A great way to try out golf for people of all skill levels. Cost is $7/ player.

K & N Peterson Matchplay Final

The 2022 K & N Peterson matchplay event was won by Ray Turner, 2 up with 1 to play, over Mark Berrisford after a tough challenge.  Thanks to Goulburn Power Centre for their sponsorship of this event.

Sunday Competition

Russell Schmitt held it together for 18 holes to finish nett 65 for a win in the stroke event and the B grade Monthly Medal. MickRegterschot 69 took A Grade and Tony Clewett won C Grade on 67. Also in the ball rundown were Max Sakiasi 69, Darrell Spence 69, Tom Heath 71, Alan McDonald 72, Graham tasker 72, and Chris Ryan 73. Mick Gray won the jackpothole for the Goulburn Soldiers club 9th, Russell lieschke won the Mitre 10 nearest the pin and the drive and pitch went unclaimed for Ginny’s Building and Carpentry.

Lindsay Sergeant was the best performer last week with 26 points over the 12 holes. Roly Wong played well for his 25. Maxine McLaughlin scored 24 in a rundown that went to 21. September 9 sees the start of the 2022 Kevin Allen Consistency Competition.

Beryl Howe came home with -2 for the Par event to win division 1 while Beryl Gray took division 2 playing to square. Di Schmitt had -3, Frances Miners -3 and Ruth Beveridge -4 for the rundown. Nearest the pin was Heather Buchanan on the Mitre 10 hole.

Mitch Cook, Mac Fife and Shane Wilson as a team of 3 managed to win the 4 person ambrose at Tully on Sunday with 6 under off the stick for a nett 56.33. Next best were Brett Buckley, Liam Harmer, Chris Spillane and Andrew Tivey on 57.13, followed by Tom James, Ryan Wilson, Ryan Saville and Sam McDonald on 57.25. Anthony Cooper, Bryan Norris and Matt James also teamed up well for 57.33 then Russell Lieschke, Eddie Hawkins, Gary Spence and John Blair 57.38. Nearest the pins were won by Ryan Wilson  on the Worker’s Club 8th and Gary Spence on the Mitre 10 hole. The jackpot hole on the Argyle Cleaning hole will carry over to next week.

Josh Cooper and Mick Regterschot teamed up well in the windy conditions to win the 4 ball multiplier on Sunday with 58 points. Lindsay Sergeant and Alan McDonald came in with 49, Roly Wong and Max Sakiasi 47, Russ Schmitt and Alan Bill 46 and Ian Baxter and Tony McLaughlin finished the rundown on 44. Roly also picked up the mystery hole with 7 points on Free One Building Design, Goulburn Soldiers Club and Scott Reid Plumbing holes. Trent Cooper won the jackpot hole for the Workers Club 8th (4.3m) as well as taking the drive and pitch on D.One Accounting 11th. Chris Ryan was nearest the pin on Jeremy Ryan Plumbing hole.

Ian Baxter took second place honours for his 68 with Russell Lieschke (69) taking A grade, Max Sakiasi (69), Mac Fife (70, Ray Turner (70), Tom Heath (72), Tony McLaughlin (72), Corey Wilmot (72) and Bill Reid (73) all in the ball rundown after a 6 card countback.  C Grade was won by Darrell Spence on 73. Roly Wong took the jackpot hole with 5.2m on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9th, Don Grimston was nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole and Mick Regterschot won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s Trees 12th.
