Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week Tully Park Golf Club hosted a 2 person ambrose with a bumper turnout and a lot of prizes on offer for Mens, Mixed and Social divisions. The course is in great condition and once the fog cleared it was an awesome day for golf. The results are as follows.

The ball run down saw Shane Jervis, Anura Tahana, Simon Jiang, Col Eggins, Alan Gray, Nathan Chandola, Ian Peterson, Kevin Peterson, Rob Channing and John Parent all grabbing a ball for their exploits.

With a heap of nearest to the pin prizes on offer the winners were Josh Cooper, Dave Gray, Ron Wenbon, Kerry Bensley, Beryl Howe, Jason Briggs and Craig Langby.

The committee would like to thank everyone who donated prizes for the day and those who gave up their time to prepare the course and put on a great lunch for all our golfers. It is a great testament to our club that we can produce such a quality golf course on the back of our many volunteers. Anybody wishing to get outside and volunteer some time should talk to a committee member and they will organize something that you can do.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by Kevin Peterson with 26 points giving him the highly sort after voucher from the Goulburn Soldiers Club. Tony Clewett 23, Mick Gray 23 and Roy McNair 21 rounded out the ball run down. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stroke and was taken out by Eddie “The Colonel” Sivell with an impressive score of nett 67 on a count back over Chris Webb, Eddie and Chris were the only players to beat their handicap in gale force conditions that got the best of most of the field. The ball rundown saw Russ Schmitt 69, Brian Mills 70 and Ken Wray 71 all grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Trent Cooper the Tully Park and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was taken out by Russ Schmitt.

Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a 2 person ambrose with heaps of prizes for mens, mixed and social divisions. Tee off is between 7-9am.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stroke and was taken out by Shane “Eagle Eye” Jervis with an impressive score of nett 64. The ball rundown saw Anura Tahana 65, Chris Webb 65, Russ Schmitt 67, Marty Hunter 67 and Darrell Spence 68 all grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Ray “Tonk” Turner the Tully Park 7th went to Ken Wray and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was taken out by Anura Tahana. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a stroke comp in conjunction with the second round of the minor championships.

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken won by Don Grimston with 25 points. John Smith 24, Grahame Cave 23 and Wally Thorn21 all picked up balls in the run down. Helen Carne grabbed a ball with 2 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

 

Par 3 Competition

The 9 hole par 3 competition is growing in popularity with a good turn out this month with everyone having a good time with some great results to show for it. Michelle Sullivan made the most of her generous social handicap after a few years out of the game to shoot the course to bits with a nett 14 that is sure to grab the attention of the club handicapper. Second place was a distant 9 shots behind with a tie between father and son Anthony and Josh Cooper both with nett 23 Joy Leary also had a good day out with a nett 24.

 

Keno Mixed 4BBB 

On Saturday Tully Park hosted a qualifying round for the Keno Mixed 4BBB with the winners to progress through to the regional round at Yass Golf Club. The results were tight with representative honors on the line, this saw Shane Jervis and Debbie Collins beat Shane Cooper and Joy Leary on a count back with 43 points. Shane and Debbie will represent Tully Park Golf Club on the 14th of June at Yass to try and progress through to the next round.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was the Monthly Medal stroke and was taken out by Mick Gray with a nett 64 to also win B Grade. Lachlan Bill 68 and Roy McNair 65 won A and C Grade respectively. The ball rundown also saw Shane Jervis 65, Shane Cooper 66 and Chris Webb 66 grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went begging this week unbelievably with nobody hitting the green the Tully Park 7th went to Roy McNair and on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Russ Schmitt showed his class to knock it the closest. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is the first round of the Minor Championships that will be two 12 hole rounds that will be played within two 18 hole stroke competitions .

The course is looking and playing great thanks to our devoted band of volunteers. The greens have come back great after all the recent work and will only get better over the coming months. Don Grimston 27 and Russ Schmitt 26 grabbed a ball for their efforts. Di Schmitt also picked up a ball for her efforts with 17 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

 

Tully Park Junior Golf

The young guns of Tully have been tearing up the course recently with the past few months seeing Trent Cooper, Lachlan Bill and Rheannah Webb all stepping up to the plate. Leading the way with several wins in both midweek and Sunday events, Trent has been working steadily on getting his handicap into single figures.
Lachlan recently represented the ACT in the Interstate matchplay event in Adelaide helping them to their best ever placing of 5th by winning a couple of his matches as their number 2 player. Lachlan also managed a sub-par round of 1 under during one of the rounds of the lead up tournament, The Australian Schoolboys Championships. This week he attends the NSW schoolboys championships in Sydney.Rheannah has also been putting in a big effort and making some personal bests on the holes at Tully and we know it won’t be long until she ties
it all together for that magical round we all know she has in her.

The junior coaching sessions return this Saturday from 3 – 4.30pm (winter program) with all players asked to bring $7 to take part in the monthly Par 3 Event, held the first Saturday of each month. This event is open to all golfers (handicapped and non handicapped) and all social players aged 5 to 95. A lot of fun for the whole family so bring someone along and have a hit.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a 4 person ambrose with Rheannah Webb, Chris Webb, Col Eggins and Ross Stacey taking home the win with 51 1/4. Royce Dockott, Reed Rowell, Nathan Chandler and Russ Schmitt came second with 54 3/4 with John Smith, Eddie Hawkins, Gary Spence and Ray Turner rounding out the ball run down with 58. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Ray Turner the Tully Park 7th went to John Smith and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was Anthony Cooper. Next Sunday is the Monthly Medal Stroke Competition.

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by Grahame Cave with 24 points to beat Eddie Hawkins on a count back. Don Grimston 23, John Smith 23, Margaret Gibson 22, Judy Moran 22 and Kevin Peterson 22 all collected a ball for their efforts. Alma Harvison also picked up a ball for her efforts with 5 points. This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a 4BBB Stableford and was taken out by the gun father daughter duo of Chris and Rheannah Webb with reports Rheannah carried out much of the heavy lifting in their score of 48. Tonk Turner and Josh Cooper had 46, Anthony Cooper and Shane Jervis 45 with Shane and Trent Cooper 43 all grabbing a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Shane Jervis the Tully Park 7th went to Gary Spence and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was Russ Schmitt. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a 4 person ambrose with social players welcome.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Canadian Foresomes with the father son duo of Anthony and Josh Cooper collecting the day with a nett 57 1/2. Second place went to Shane and Trent Cooper with nett 59 while Russ Schmitt and Lachlan Bill scored 63 and Brian Mills and Tom Heath with 63 1/2 rounded out the ball rundown. The nearest to the pins went to Craig Langby on the Goulburn Produce 5th to Mick Gray on the Tully Park 7th and Trent Cooper on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th. Next Sunday is the Monthly Medal stroke Competition.

Tully Park Pennants

The boys went down to Gunghalin Lakes to take on RMC in the semi finals on Sunday with the winner going on to play the final on the 29th of March at Gold Creek Golf Club. The team got the win in a tightly contested match and will now take on Goulburn Golf Club in the final. Well done lads and best of luck.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a 2 person ambrose taken out by the young gun duo of Trent Cooper and John Gegg with nett 59. Glen Wharton and Shane O’Donnall came a close second with 59 and a half with Grahame Cave/ Darrell Spence and Tim James/ Marty Hunter shooting 59 3/4 along with Marty Weise and Mick Harris 60 rounding out the ball run down. The social competition saw Dave Gray and Greg Slater take the goods with 64. The nearest to the pins were on the Tully Park 7th Peter Courts and on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Trent Cooper. Next Sunday is Canadian Foresomes Competition.
