Tully Park Golf 4/11/18

Sunday Competition

Newcomer, Dennis Moore left the field behind as he scored 41 points in the stableford event on Sunday and still left some out on the course as well as picking up the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin on the 14th. Ron Nunn was next best on 39 followed by Shane Cooper 38, Phil Elliott 38, Tony Clewett and John Smith both on 36 in a 5 card countback. Jeremy Harrison won the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Tully junior, Ned Slater, stole the show last week with 28 points for the 12 hole competition.  Packed in behind him were visitor to the field, Mal Maher, Graham Tasker, Chris Ryan and Russell Schmitt on 27, Ryan Saville and Ryan Wilson both made 26, Martell Maher and Bryson Plumb both finished on 25. The rundown went to 23.

Multiquip Par 3

This Saturday is the final Par 3 event for the year with all welcome to tee off from 7.30am to 12pm. The cost is only $7 per person with $25 vouchers up for grabs for the adult and junior sections.

Ladies

Sharon Scott scored 39 points to win Division 1 in the ladies stableford event on Monday with Ruth Beveridge making 37 points for Division 2. The ball rundown included Martell Maher 35, Bev Grocott 35, June Spillane 33 and Joy Leary 32. Heather Buchanan was nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th.

Tully Park Golf 28/10/18

Sunday Competition

Trent Cooper held on to win the 2018 A Grade Gross in the championships concluded on Sunday after 4 rounds with a total of 304. A grade nett was Gary Spence (269), B Grade gross Tracker Tahana (326), and nett Chris Elliott (280), while C grade saw Tom James the winner (354) and Darrell Spence the nett winner (262).  Tom James also won the Rocky Harris Trophy for best overall nett on 261.

The Sunday stroke round saw Shane Cooper with a remarkable showing of talent to finish with a nett 58 round of 10 under to win the Oct monthly medal and the C grade. Russell Schmitt took the A Grade after a countback on 61 and Mark Berrisford was the b grade winner for the day on 67.    

Division winners over the weekend were: Saturday – Tracker Tahana 60 in Div 1 and Darrell Spence 62 for Div 2. Sunday winners were Russell Schmitt 61 Div 1 and Shane Cooper 58 Div 2. Ball rundown went to 69 on countback for Sat and 66 on Sunday. Nearest the Pin on the Capital Country Plumbing was Phil Elliott and the drive and pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st was tracker Tahana.   

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Mark Berrisford scored 27 points for the 12 hole win last week with Greg Maskill, Russell Lieschke and Don Grimston all close behind on 25. Graham tasker, Wayne James and John Smith all returned 23 in a rundown that went to 22 on countback. Congratulations to John Smith on winning 3 silver and a bronze medal at the masters Games for golf in Alice Springs recently. 

Ladies

A nett 70 round was good enough for Georgina Cook to chalk up a win in the stroke event for division 1 last Monday. June Spillane took division 2 with 68 nett and only had 29 putts to take their putting prize. Bev Grocott was div 1 putting winner also on 29. Included in the rundown were Sharon Scott 72, Joy Leary 73, Ratna Rankmore 74 and Bev Grocott 76. 

Notices: November 4 Stableford. Nov 10 is the final Par 3 for the year. A big thank you to the volunteers who got the course in such good condition for the championships. Your efforts were noted and appreciated.

The Goulburn District Prostate Cancer Support Group 2 person Ambrose is on Sunday Nov 11 with a shotgun start at 8.30am.  Cost is $20/player for the 2 Person Ambrose event and includes lunch. All players and teams are to be at Tully by 8am to help raise funds for this local support group and Goulburn Community health. Thank you to Goulburn Sand and Soil for their with $200 in vouchers for the day and to the  Prostate Cancer Support Group for their generous donation.  Cart bookings are essential for the day.

Sunday Competition

2018 Major championships commenced on Saturday with 2 divisions for the day. Chris Elliott took div 1 with nett 65 and Don Grimston returned a 62 to take div 2. Sunday saw Tracker Tahana carded the best for div 1 with 64 while Tully junior Ned Slater picked up div 2 with 61. Alan Bill was nearest the pin for the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole and Josh Cooper won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th.   Leaders for the grades after 2 rounds are A grade: Trent Cooper 157 (gross), Gary Spence 137 (nett), B Grade Tracker Tahana 166 and 134 (gross and nett) and C grade Tom James 180 and 132 (gross/ nett) Ned Slater 132 (nett).

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Greg Maskill won the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week on countback over Malcolm Young and Tom James when all three finished on 26 points in a rundown that went to 24. Greg. finished off the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition with another win to leave him the outright winner for the 6 week event with 113 points and take home the $100 voucher.  Alan Bill finished 2nd overall with 108 and Tom James jumped into 3rd on countback with 105. Thanks to V Allen for her continued support of this event.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore won the Maximum 9 stableford event at Tully for the ladies last week with a total of 23 for her best 9 holes. Heather Buchanan was next best on 22 followed by Beryl Gray and Georgina Cook on 21.

Notices:  Major Championships continue Oct 27 and 28. To win the overall prizes players must have 10 handicapable rounds in the last 12 months before Round 1. Tee off is anytime Sat (organise your own group) 7am to 7.30 is recommended for those looking for a group to play with, on Sunday tee off 6.45 to 8.30am. Cost $15/round.

Sunday Competition

Gary Spence scored 40 points on Sunday to win the stableford event. Phil Elliott made 39 and won the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th and the Mystery holes on the 2nd, Workers Club 8th and the 16th after a 3 card countback. Chris Elliott and Mark Berrisford both scored 38 while Don Grimston made up the rundown on 37.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Russell Schmitt managed a countback win over Shane Cooper after both finished on 28 points last week. Josh Cooper and Trent Cooper both made 27 with Alan Bill 26 and John Peterson 24 in the rundown that went to 22 on a countback. With the final round of the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition underway there is a tie at the top between Alan Bill and Greg Maskill on 108. Third place and under threat is Eddie Hawkins on 103 with Ruth Beveridge 101, Tom James 100 and Brian Larkin 98 all close enough to strike.  

Multiquip Par 3

Rheannah Webb returned from her winter hiatus to win the Multiquip Par 3 on countback over Ned Slater when both finished on 22 nett. The next Par 3 is Nov 10.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan won division 1 of the Ladies stroke event with 69 nett and the putting with 23 putts. Ruth Beveridge followed suit in the 2nd division with 81 (after a four card countback) and 30 puts. The rundown included Georgina Cook 71, Martell Maher 72 and Di Schmitt 76.

Sunday Competition

The team of Josh Cooper and Shane Cooper scraped home for a 1 point win on Sunday in the 4 Ball best ball stableford event with a score of 48 over Gary Spence and Jeremy Harrison on 47. Trent Cooper and Chris Elliott were tied as next best along with Russell Schmitt and Alan Bill on 46 in a rundown that went to 44.

Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was Tom Heath and the drive and pitch on Aarons Trees 12th was Chris Ryan.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

With a round of 31 points last week Greg Maskill leapt to the top of the 12 hole event and, with only 2 rounds remaining, to the top of the Kevin Allen Consistency competition on 108. Ruth Beveridge made her mark with another good round of 29 followed by Anthony Cooper 28 and Bryan Norris 27 in a rundown that went to 24 points. Currently holding second place in the consistency comp is Alan Bill on 106 and third is Eddie Hawkins on 103. 

Juniors

From October 6 the Saturday juniors will move to the new time of 10am to 11.30 and the cost will be $10 for the lessons with Pete Hayhoe.

Congratulations to Anbarasan Mitchell who finished tied 2nd in his division at the Jack Newton International in Cessnock last week with a total of 297 (+9).

Martell Maher picked up division 1 prize last week with 35 points in the stableford event with Ruth Beveridge the division 2 winner on 39. Beryl Howe won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre Ten 5th hole. The rundown included Beryl Howe 37 and Georgina Cook 34.

Sunday Competition

Phil Elliott was Sunday’s winner of the Stroke  event and monthly Medal for the B Grade with a nett 63. Hot on his heels were Alan Bill 64 (C grade winner) Tracker Tahana 66, Ian Peterson (A Grade winner) 66, and Darrell Spence 68 in a 4 card countback. Tracker won the Capital Country Plumbing nearest the pin on the 7th and won the eagles nest for his 3 on the par 5  Bio-Cleanse 10th hole. Alan Bill won the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th.   

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Forty-one players lined up last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition with another high scoring round the result. Tom James made 29 points ahead of a packed field with Ruth Beveridge 28, Ned Slater and Trent Cooper both on 27 and Beryl Howe making 26 in a rundown that went to 24 on countback.

After 3 rounds of the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition Alan Bill shares the lead with Eddie Hawkins on 80 points and Tom James is close behind in third on 79. Several others are within striking distance with 3 weeks to go to register 4 good rounds towards the $100, $60 and $30 prize vouchers.

Juniors

Sunday Competition

Graham Tasker dominated a high scoring field with 43 points in the stableford event on Sunday just edging out Trent Cooper 41 and Sharon Scott 41. Tom James returned an equally impressive 40 followed by Ken Wray 39 in a rundown that went to 37. Phil Elliott won the Mystery Holes for September with 9 points on the BP Marino Fuels 3rd, Aaron’s Trees 12th and Argyle Cleaning 17th. Russell Lieschke was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and Adam Boxsell won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th.

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

With 40 players last week it was Greg Maskill who took out round 2 of the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition in a high scoring week across the board. Greg Scored a magnificent 31 points for the 12 holes and was closely followed by Eddie Hawkins on 30. The Ladies made their presence known with Sharon Scott, Georgina Cook, and Heather Buchanan all scoring 27 points along with Alan Bill. The packed rundown went to 24 on a countback.  The overall standings listed in the clubhouse window show Alan Bill in the lead on 56, Eddie Hawkins on 55 and Greg Maskill on 51. The river holes are open again so please use the access point between the plastic barriers provided and good luck for round 3.

Malcolm Young won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole on his way to a net score of  67 for his first win at Tully Park in the Stroke event on Sunday after a countback over Phil Elliott and Tom James. Don Grimston and Ken Wray both made 68 to make up the rundown. Shane Cooper won the Drive and Pitch on the Carpet Court 16th

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition is underway with Tracker Tahana leading the way in a high scoring round 1. Tracker scored 30 points for the 12 hole comp just pipping Alan Bill on 29, Graham Tasker and John Peterson on 28 and Brian Larkin on 27. The rundown went to 24 and the standings for each round are listed in the clubhouse window. With the walking track work passing through under the bridge an alley will be setfrom Friday for players to get over to the river holes so please use it for the safety of all.

Juniors

Nathan Chandola won the junior stableford event on Saturday with 22 points for the 9 holes. Nitika Chandola was second on 15 points.

Sunday Competition

Tracker Tahana blitzed the field on Sunday with 47 points in the stableford event ahead of another high score by Eddie Hawkins on 42 points. Alan Bill 39, Josh Cooper 38 and Russell Schmitt 38 made up the rundown. Phil Elliott was nearest the pin for the Workers Club 8th hole while Stuart Tahana took the eagles nest on the drive and pitch Aarons Trees 12th hole.  

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Tony Clewett played to his par for the 12 holes scoring 24 points to win on countback over new member Michael McPake. John Peterson and Don Grimston both made 23 and Lachlan Bill and Tom James were next best on 22 on countback.

 The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition is underway with Round 2 commencing this Friday as part of the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition or the Sunday comp. From this Friday Sept 14 for 1 week all golfers are asked to play the inland course only. This is to allow the walking track work at the river holes to be carried out more easily. Thank you

Multiquip Par 3

Twenty –three players took part in the Multiquip Par 3 with the winners for September  Beryl Howe on countback and Ned Slater for the Adult and junior sections respectively both with 24 nett.

Ratna Rankmore returned a nett 76 to win the stroke event for division 1 last Monday.  Beryl Gray won division 2 with 74 nett and took out their putting comp with 33. Bev Grocott was the division 1 putting winner with 31. In the rundown were Beryl Howe 75, Georgina Cook 84 and June Spillane 81.

Sunday Competition

Ray Turner won the Par event on Sunday with an excellent round of +6. Mark Berresford was next best on +3 with Jeremy Harrison +2, and Josh Cooper +1 all in the positive. Ken Wray and Chris Ryan both finished square with the card for their rounds. Tom Heath won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and the Drive and Pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st went unclaimed.

Joy Leary returned to form with nett 73 and 26 putts to win the division 1 stroke and putting event  on Monday. Beryl Howe was the division 2 winner with 71 nett and 29 putts. Included in the ball rundown were Ratna Rankmore 73, Georgina Cook 77 and Beryl Gray 78.

Notices: September 9 Stableford.  The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition (with thanks to Val Allen) is underway with Round 1 now being played in conjunction with the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition or the Sunday comp.  Players are reminded you can beat the winter frosts for non-championship rounds by playing on Saturdays for the Sunday competition, monthly medals can only be won on the Sunday. Thanks to the hard working volunteers for their work on the greens on Saturday, it was a hard job done well.

All players are asked to check the blackboard for changes to play conditions due to the walking track work.
