Sunday Competition

Simon Jiang kicked off the new year with an amazing 46 points in the Mulligans event held on Sunday. Roly Wong picked up second place with 42 and the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th. Sam McDonald scored an eagle on the Lee and Thomas13th on his way to 41, Tony McLaughlin took the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole and the nearest the pin on the Alan Bill Electrical 7^th and finished with 40. Mac Fife made 38, Eddie Sivell 37, Glenn Baxter 36, and on 35 were Geoff Knight, Andrew Balabka and Gary Spence.

Lindsay Sergeant won the nearest the pin for the BC Training 6^th and after last week’s eagle on the 11^th John Smith won the nearest the pins for the Workers Club 8^th and Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th. Chris Ryan won the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16^th.

Sunday Jan 11 is a 4 Ball Best Ball stableford event.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Michael Wilson won the final Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp for 2025 on countback with a score of 27 points. Maxine McLaughlin was unlucky with her 27 points but she gets to lose another shot. Making up the rundown were Frances Miners 25, Ian Baxter 24, Don Grimston 23 and Ken Wray and Tony McLaughlin 22 after a countback.

Sunday Competition

The December Stroke and A Grade Monthly Medal was won by Andrew Balabka in perfect style with a 7 under round nett 61. Andrew also took the nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th. Tom James took the B grade with 65 and Don Grimston the C grade on 65.

The rundown included Luke Wray 67, Glenn Baxter 68 and John Smith 68. The jackpot Mitre 10 hole went to Chris Ryan who also took the Alan Bill Electrical 7^th and the Lee and Thomas 13^th drive and pitch. Max Sakiasi won the BC Training 6^th and Workers Club 8^th nearest the pins and James Will won the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th and Carpet Court 16^th prizes.

2026 kicks off with a Mulligan Stableford on January 4. Each player will have 4 chances to redo a bad shot. 2 in the front 9 holes and 2 in the back nine. If you only have a couple of shots ruining your game…then this is for you.

Don Grimston had the magic of Christmas with him on the way to 29 points last week for a win in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition. Maxine McLaughlin headed up the rundown with 26. Others in the rundown were Hayden Ward 25, France Miners 24, Terry Berg 23, Jeff Edwards 23 and Ken Wray 23.

Sam McDonald took the Santa sack with a win in the Par event on Sunday with a score of +5 and the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin 14^th . Tom James came in second on +4 followed by Tom Heath on +1. Making up the rundown in the top of the negative scores were John Smith , Tony McLaughlin , Glenn Baxter and Luke Wray all on -1 and Bill Reid on -2.

Tony McLaughlin won the Mitre 10 jackpot hole while Greg granger took nearest the pins on the  B C Training and Worker’s Club 6^th and 8^th , Luke Wray took the Alan Bill Electrical and Goulburn Soldiers Club 7^th and 9^th . Tom Heath won the Le and Thomas drive and pitch and Bill Reid took the same for the Carpet Court 16^th.

Condolences from the members of Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club to the family of Dave King and to Joy Leary and her family. Dave passed away recently and was a long time member of Tully Park as both member and Trust Board member. Joy Leary’s husband , and former Tully member, Stuart also passed this week.

The 4 person ambrose for Gala Day attracted 52 starters with the winning team Mick Gray, Kerry Bensley, Mick Wilson and Craig Langby with a nett 52.25. Chris Lewis, Sam Cosgrove, Luke Dixon and Craig Hussey came in with 52.875 followed by the teams of T James/S McDonald/T McLaughlin 53,J Burton/ A Croker/K Croker/P Wray 54, W Brown/M Taylor/B Brown/ M Stephenson 55.125  and M Ryan/ I Baxter/A McDonald/ L Sergeant 55.875.

The jackpot was won by Sam Cosgrove on the Mitre 10 hole. Nearest the pins went to Kirby Croker (Priceline 2^nd), Greg Granger (BC Training 6th), Jeremy Harrison (Alan Bill Electrical 7^th),Mick Gray (Workers Club 8^th and Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th), Alan McDonald (Goulburn soldiers Club 14^th) and Mick Wilson (Argyle Cleaning 17^th).

Glenn Baxter scored a nett 64 to win the 2025 Gold Medal playoff and the C grade monthly medal for November. Tom James was next best on 67 after a countback and took the B grade medal and Chris Ryan on 69 won the A grade. The rundown included Siomn Jiang and Don Grimston both on 67, Greg granger 68, Tony Clewett and Luke Wray both 69 and Mitch Cook and Tony Mclaughlin both on 71. The Mitre 10 jackpot hole was won by Ray Turner.

Nearest the pins were won by Chris Ryan (BC Training 6^th) Ken Wray 9Alan Bill Electrical 7^th), Chris Elliott Worker’s Club 8^th) , and Mick Wilson (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th) . Mitch Cook also scored and eagle on the Reid Plumbing 18^th.

The Tully Ladies have wound up their competition year and will return from February 2026. Closing day winners were Maxine McLaughlin 96 and Lil Ryan 115 (Gross winners div 1 & 2), Ratna Rankmore 97 and Frances Miners 120 (Gross runners up div 1 & 2),  Heather Buchanan 77 and Ruth Beveridge 88 (Nett winners div 1 & 2), Georgina Cook 77 and Barbara Miller 90 (Nett runners up div 1 & 2).

Dean Horne and Greg Granger teamed up to win the 4 ball best ball on Sunday with 45 points. Luke Wray and Doug Stevens played well for 41 and Tony Clewett and Ian Peterson had 40 to be included in the rundown.

Ladies

Georgina Cook led the way with 64 nett for a win in the division 1 stroke event last week. Barbara Miller won division 2 with 81. In the rundown were Maxine Mclaughlin 65, Heather Buchana 68 and Ratna Rankmore 77. The putting prizes went to Georgina Cook 29 and Barbara Miller 39.

Brian Mills Charity Day raised around $1500 for Goulburn Riding for Disabled with64 players taking part.

Winners of the 2 Person Ambrose were Tom Heath and  Ray Turner with 60.75 nett, runners up Roly Wong and Mick Wilson 61. The rundown included the teams of Tony Clewett/ Ian Peterson 62, Wayne Brown / Mark Stephenson 63.5, Sam Cosgrove/ Sam Cockburn 63.75, Sam McDonald/ Luke Wray 63.75, Maxine Mclaughlin/ Terry Berg 64.25, Russ Schmitt/ Di Schmitt 64.25 and R Schmitt/ Alan Bill 65.75.

Social teams winners were Jay Fletcher and Graham Bush 65 and Tom James and Wayne James were the runners up 67.75. The rundown included Wayne Blay/ Nathan Mclaughlin 69 and Jaemin Frazer / Elliott Frazer 69.5.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Alan McDonald crept in with 25 points on countback over Michael Wilson for a win in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event last week. In the rundown were Ian Baxter 24, Simon Jiang 24, Tony Clewett 23, Maxine McLaughlin 23, Craig Hussey 23, Lindsay Sergeant 21 and Stephen Rigby 20 on countback.

Ladies

A nett 70 won Maxine McLaughlin division 1 in the stroke event last Monday with Lil Ryan taking  division 2 with 71. The ball rundown went to Heather Buchanan 72 and Barbara Miller 73. Putting prizes went to Ratna Rankmore 31putts while Georgina Cook had 37.

Sunday Competition

The Mexican Team event was won by the team of Ian Peterson, Tony Clewett, Ken Wray and Don Grimston on 103 points. Jeremy Harrison, Gary Spence, Garry Handley and Eddie Hawkins came I second on 98 followed by Ian Baxter, Tony McLaughlin, Max Sakiasi and Roly Wong 97 and finishing the rundown Alan Bill, Alan McDonald, Lindsay Sergeant and Russell Schmitt on 93.

The Mitre 10 jackpot hole and the Alan Bill Electrical 7^th were won by Jeremy Harrison. Other nearest the pins were won by Simon Jiang (Workers Club 8^th ), Garry Handley (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th ) and Chris Ryan (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th ). Drive and pitch prizes were taken by Max Sakiasi and Ian Baxter (Lee and Thomas 13^th ) and Chris Ryan/ Phil Heath (Carpet Court 16^th ).

November 16:  Brian Mills 2 person Ambrose Charity Day. Get your teams nominated at the clubhouse before Wed Nov 12 at 2pm to assist us with catering for the day. Cost $20/ player (incl BBQ lunch) with proceeds going to the Goulburn Riding for Disabled.

Note : the course will be closed until 1pm Sunday Nov 16 for the charity event.

Sam Cockburn was last week’s winner with 25 points with Maxine Mcvlaughlin showing her consistency again with 24. Sam Cosgrove and Scott Sherer each had 22,, Greg Maskill and Ian Baxter 21 and Jeff Edwards finished the rundown with 20.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore led the way for the Captain vs President stableford event on Monday with 35 points. Maxine Mclaughlin was the best in for the President’s team with 30. Nearest the pins on the Priceline 2^nd  were Heather Buchanan and Maxine Mclaughlin. The rundown for the day included Georgina Cook 31 and Ruth Beveridge 22.

2025 Championships

The 2025 championships are over with the Gross grade winners-  Brett Buckley 310 (A Grade), Max Sakiasi 337 (B Grade) and Alan McDonald 382 (C Grade). Overall nett winners were Mitch Cook 282, Luke Dixon 279, and Dean Horne 310 for the A, B and C grades respectively.

The round 3 winner on Saturday was Max Sakiasi with nett 66, followed by Sam Cosgrove with 68. The rundown included Luke Dixon 69, Alan Bill 71, Andrew Balabka 71 down to 76 on countback .

Was the fourth round winner with64 nett was Mitch Cook and second place went to Sam McDonald 68  . The rundown included Max Sakiasi 69, Russell Schmitt 69, Simon Jiang 70, down to 72.

The Mitre 10 jackpot hole was won by Andrew Balabka. Nearest the pins went to James Will (alan Bill Electrical 7^th) Chris Elliott and Mac Fife (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^thand 14^th respectively)Sam McDonald took the drive and pitch for the Lee and Thomas 13^th and Chris Lewis took it for the Carpet Court 16^th.
