Mid week competition

  1. Rain is Finished!

The course looks brand new. It is amazing how quickly the course comes  back after good rain. All that absorbed CO2 really works well as a fertiliser.  

Come out and play the 12 hole comp. there is only 25 points to beat. Also don’t forget the par 3 comp. on Saturday, it should be great fun.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition 3/1/2016

Mild overcast conditions greeted the first Sunday comp. of the New Year. These conditions and the dry fairways resulted in some good scoring for the day. A Stableford competition was won by Russell Lieschke with 41 points closely followed by Russell Schmitt and Chris Webb on 40 whilst Eddie Hawkins filled 4th. place on a countback. The mystery holes today were 4, 10, 14 and Brian Norris won these with 9 points.

The Goulburn Produce and Rural supplies sponsored 5th hole nearest the pin was won by Eddie Sivell and Russell Lieschke rounded off a good day by taking out both the NTP on the 7th and the Workers club 8th hole.

The Goulburn Soldiers Club sponsored 12 hole weekly competition 

Russell Lieshke’s form continued during the week and resulted in him winning with 28 points. Other good scores were Josh Cooper 26, Bryson Plumb, Eddie Hawkins and Tony Clewett 25 and Don Grimson 24. The Special ball this week was won by Brian Wyndham on 16 points.

With beautiful weather forecast for the next few days why don’t you play in the 12 hole Stableford competition? The course is in good shape and the Greens “to putt” on.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

A very pleasant day greeted members for the Gordon Hotel Monthly Medal competition. The course was in great condition after some light rain which settled the dust and the great work done by the course volunteers. The Greens were in fantastic condition and were certainly no excuse for any missed putts.

Ian Peterson took out Best Nett with a great score of Nett 59. A Grade was won by Russell Lieschke on nett 66, B grade Ian Peterson, Nett 59 and C Grade Anthony Cooper Nett 65. Nearest to pin winners were Kerry Bensley, Goulburn Produce and Rural supplies, 5th hole. Marty Hunter won Goulburn Farm Machiner 7th. and Ian Peterson got the Goulburn Workers club 8th.

Goulburn Soldiers club mid week 12 hole competition

The Soldiers Club mid week competition was well supported this week. Phil Elliot took out 1st. with 29 points followed by Bryson Plumb on 28 and Russell Schmitt on 26

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

A small field fronted up for the Gordon Hotel Sunday Stableford Competition. The predicted 40 deg. temperature no doubt influenced the majority to stay at home. Shane Cooper however, was unaffected by the heat as he streaked the field to win with a massive 43 points. Anthony Cooper also scored well with 40 points with Gary Spence on 39 and Kerry Bensley taking out 4th with 38. We had a mystery 3 hole competition which Chris Elliott won with 8 points. Nearest to pin results were Gary Spence on the Goulburn Produce and Rural Supplies 5th. Chris Elliot took out the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th. whilst Phil Elliot was closest on the Goulburn Workers Club 7th.

Goulburn Soldiers club Mid Week Competition

Russell Schmitt scored well in this weeks Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Stableford competition, winning with a good 30 points for the 12 holes. Joy Leary on 27 took out 2nd on a countback from Bryson Plumb while Tony clewett finished 4th on 26 points. The hot dry weather has really dried the course out and it is only due to the early morning watering by Russell Schmitt and his helpers that have kept the course respectable.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This weeks event was a 3 man Stableford. We had a large field which resulted in a very close competition.  The Men’s winners were Ken Wray, Don Grimson and Tony Clewett on 54 2/3 , winning on a count back from  John Gegg,Chris Bruton and Trent Cooper. Debbie Collins,Beryl Howe and John Smith on 56 1/3 won the mixed comp.from Georgina Cook,Beryl Gray and Judy Marsh.  Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Ken Wray, the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th went to Russell Schmitt and Tony Clewett won the Goulburn Workers Club 8th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

Ron Wenben with 28 points won this weeks 12 hole stableford competition. Wayne Brown scored 26, Di Schmitt, 25 and Russell Schmitt scored 26.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a 4 Ball Best Ball competition taken out by Col Eggins and Ross Stacey with 52 points. The ball rundown saw Don Grimston, Ken Wray, Ray Turner and Gary Spence all grabing a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Tom Heath the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th went to John Smith and on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Russ Lieschke.

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by Joy Leary with 27 points on a count back. Kevin Breen 27, Beryl Gray 27, Tony Clewett 26, Trent Cooper 26 Bryson Plumb 26 and Mick Hyland 25 all picked up balls in the run down. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was the Monthly Medal stroke and was taken out by Eddie Sivell with a nett 61 this also saw him claim the gold medal for 2015. Gary Spence 69 and Roy McNair won A and C Grade respectively. The ball rundown saw Mick Gray 62, Roy McNair 64, Anthony Cooper 66 and Chris Elliott 67 grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Brian Mills the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th went to Tom Heath and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th also went to Tom Heath. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is Stableford 4 Ball Best Ball competition.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stableford competition that was also the final for the coveted Gordon Shield. Josh Cooper claimed the day with 43 points to get his name on the shield for 2015. The ball rundown saw Russ Leischke 41, Adam Boxsell 41 and Chris Elliott 40 collecting a ball for their efforts. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Chris Elliott the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th went to Eddie Hawkins and the closest on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was Adam Boxsell. The club would like to thank all the volunteers that have given up their valuable time to get the course looking outstanding leading into summer your efforts don’t go unnoticed.

Next Sunday there will be a 2 Person Charity Ambrose with all proceeds going to the Goulburn District Prostate Cancer Support Group. The event costs $20 per person including lunch with tee off between 7 and 9am. Come down and support a great cause.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stableford competition taken out by Tom “Sharp Shooter” Heath with a barnstorming 46 points to edge out the cracking score of 45 by Mick Gray. The ball rundown saw Ray Turner 40 and Kevin Peterson 40 collecting a ball for their efforts. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Ray Turner the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th went to Ian Peterson who also knocked it the closest on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th.

Next Saturday will be a 9 hole par 3 competition with social players welcome for the low cost of $7 come down for a hit and a lot of fun.

Sunday will see a 3 person ambrose competition being held with social players welcome.
