Tully Park Golf 15/7/18

Sunday Competition
Trent Cooper proved the best in the icy conditions on Sunday returning a nett 66 for the stroke event. Alan Bill and Tom James both came in with 67 followed by Gary Spence 69 and Don Grimston 71. Nearest the Pin was Gary Spence on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and Ken Wray took the drive and pitch for the Lee and Thomas 13th .

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Russell Schmitt led the way for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event last week with 27 points ahead of a strong field with John Peterson and Don Grimston, both 26, Sharon Scott 25 Chris Ryan and Beryl Gray 24 and Ron Nunn 23 on countback.

Multiquip Par 3
Elsey Slater scored 23 nett to win the Par 3 event on Saturday. It was a great round for this up and coming junior at Tully who only recently got her Ladies handicap.

A reminder to our Keno4 Ball Par representatives that the district round is on August 5 at Fairbairn so keep the date free. August 12 is the annual Foursomes championships with both rounds 1 and 2 being played on the day with a lunch included in the $30/person. The Annual General Meeting on August 19 at 1pm agenda items and nominations for the committee are now being accepted.

Ladies
Sharon Scott won the stableford event on Monday over a field that was tight at the top. Heather Buchanan made 34 points, (and won the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th), while Georgina Cook and Beryl Gray both made 33

Sunday Competition
The cold weather conditions on Sunday, brought 13 starters to the stableford 4BBB. The team of Jeremy Harrison and Gary Spence took out the win on a score of 47 points, close behind them was the team of Josh and Trent Cooper on 46 points then just behind them was John Smith and Ken Wray on 44 points. Jeremy Harrison won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Workers Club 8TH hole and John Smith won the drive and pitch on the Goulburn Carpet Court 16th.

Memberships for 2018/19 are due now.
Agenda items for AGM on August 19th will be able to be added to the meeting agenda. Nominations to join the committee for 2018/19 are now open.
The par 3 event is on next Saturday the 14th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp
The mid-week competition this week brought 17 players to our course. Darryl Spence took out the win on 24 points on a count back with Kerry Bensley. Next was Peter Webster, Ron Nunn and Don Pennay all on 23 points then Joy Leary came in with 21 points on a count back.

Sunday Competition
A cold frosty morning greeted 15 starters in the par event with Ray Turners +1 being too good for Russell Lieschke, Eddie Hawkins, Gary Spence and Eddy Sivell, all on -1. Gary Spence had a good day taking out the Goulburn Produce Mitre Ten nearest the pin on the 5th and the drive and pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st

Judy Moran was too good for the 16 others starts in this weeks midweek comp with 24 points, followed by Russell Schmitt on 22 points, Ron Nunn on 22, Peter Webster on 21, Bryson Plumb on 21 and Graham Tasker on 20.

Ladies
The Ladies competition ended up with a win to Sharon Scott to win A Grade on 35 points, B Grade was taken out by Beryl Howe on 32 points. The ball run down went to Georgia Cook and Di Schmitt. Joy Leary won the Goulburn Produce Mitre Ten 5th hole nearest the pin.

Sunday Competition

Ron Nunn finished off a good week with a nett 67 to win the stroke event and the C Grade monthly Medal for June. Gary Spence 69 took out the A Grade after a countback over Ian Peterson and Tom Heath 70 and Josh Cooper 71 on countback made up the rundown. Chris Elliott led the way for the B Grade with 74. Tom Heath managed the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th and the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th.

Ron Nunn’s 24 points last week were enough to win him the $25 Goulburn soldiers Club voucher ahead of Chris Ryan and Russell Schmitt on 23 and 22 respectively. Bryan Norris 21 Greg Maskill 20 and Beryl Gray 20 made up the rundown.

Sunday Competition

 Only the hearty braved the cold windy conditions on Sunday and only a few managed to tame it. Anthony Cooper plays his best when it blows as he showed with 41 points after a 25 point front 9. Chris Ryan also showed his mettle with a solid 38 and took the Mystery Holes for June with 8 points on the Merino Fuels 3rd, Workers Club 8th and Lee and Thomas 13th. Russell Schmitt made 36 and was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th while Russell Lieschke’s 34 included the Drive and Pitch on Aaron’s Trees 12th.

Malcolm Young scored his first Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole win with 27 points last week in his best round to date at Tully. John Blair was next best on 23, while Kevin Breen 22, Joy Leary 21 and Eddie Hawkins 20 made up the rundown.

Georgina cook won last week for the Ladies with 33 points in the stableford event with Sharon Scott 29 and Martel Maher 24 next best in the rundown that went to 18.

Sunday Competition

Chris and Phil Elliott teamed up to show the field how it is done with a nett 58.25 for the 2 Person Ambrose on Sunday. Brian Mills and Tom Heath finished next best with 63 and Anthony and Trent Cooper managed 64.5 for their round. Brian Mills was nearest the pin for the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole and Phil Elliott managed to beat the fog for nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th.

Back to back wins for john Smith as he made 25 points last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition. Brian Larkin performed well for his 23 and Bryson Plumb 20, Martell Maher 18 and Ron Nunn 17 made up the rundown.

Ladies

Sharon Scott played the best of the Ladies for her 75 nett to win Division 2 on a countback in the stroke event last Monday. Joy Leary was the division 1 winner on 78. The rundown included Beryl Gray 75, Georgina Cook 78 and Bev Grocott 80. Putting comps were won by Heather Buchanan and Georgina Cook both with 31.

Sunday Competition

The Stableford Aggregate was won by the team of Phil Elliott and Chris Elliott with a score of 80 leaving the field in their wake as the next best to come in was 69 by Jeremy Harrison a Gary Spence. Eddie Sivell and Ken Wray combined to make 67 with Eddie also taking out the Nearest the Pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th. Tom Heath won the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch on the 13th.

  Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

John Smith took top honours last week with 26 points nudging Eddie Hawkins into the rundown for his 25. Holding their own on 23 were Margaret Gibson, Don Grimston, Chris Elliott, Jon Gegg and with a welcome return to golf Brian Mills. The Goulburn Soldiers Club event runs every day of the week with the round closing on Friday mornings at 9am.

Multiquip Par 3

Ned Slater returned to form for the Multiquip Par 3 on Saturday taking out the junior division with nett 27. Jenny  Brodie won the adult section with nett 20. The next Par 3 is on July 14.

 Notices: 2 Person ambrose on June 10.  Membership renewals are now being sent out with only $270 for the year to June 30 2019. Thanks to the volunteers who have tidied the course and clubhouse up over recent weeks it looks amazing.

Ladies

Division 1 of the stableford event was won by Bev Grocott, who also took out the drive and pitch on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th , with 34 points. Beryl Gray won Division 2 with 35 points. The rundown included Judy Moran 34, Georgina cook 32, di Schmitt 32 and beryl Howe 30.

Sunday Competition

Josh Cooper held on to win the May Monthly Medal and stroke event with a nett 63 taking our the A Grade. Russell Schmitt was the B Grade winner on 64 and Tony Clewett took the C Grade with 67. In the rundown were Mick Harris 65, Phil Elliott 65 and Trent Cooper 67.  Trent also managed the Carpet Court Drive and Pitch on the 16th and John Smith was nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th.

   

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Kerry Bensley clawed his way to a countback win in a low scoring round of 22 points for the 12 holes. Don Grimston and John Peterson also managed 22 followed by Gary Spence and Bill Skelly on 21. Brian Larkin made up the rundown on countback for his 20.  Thank you to the Goulburn Soldiers Club for your support of this great weekly event that allows so many busy people to participate at their convenience.

 

Notices: June 3 is a 4 Ball stableford Aggregate.  The June Par 3 is on this Saturday with tee off from 8am to 12pm. Bev Grocott won the stroke event for Division 1 with a nett 74 on countback and Beryl Gray won the division 2 on 76 and the div 2 putting with 30. Di Schmitt won the putting with 33 for Div 1. The ball rundown went to 76.

Sunday Competition

The 2 person Ambrose at Tully on Sunday saw a host of winners for the day. 1st placed teams for the $100/ vouchers were Adam Boxsell/ Tracker 64 for the Div 1 men, Cortey Manning / Chris Roberts 61 for Div 2 Mens, and Ned Slater/ Janelle Slater 65.75 for the mixed. Second place getters  for $50 vouchers were Josh Cooper/ Anthony Cooper mens div 1 64, Mick Kadzeila/ Mark Geale 62. 25 in the mens Div 2, Sharon Scott and Dave King 67.25 in the mixed.

Third place vouchers of $30 went to Alan Bill/ Jeremy Harrison 65 in Div 1, Graham Tasker/ Eddie Sivell 62.75 Div 2 and Mixed to Shane and Tracey Cooper 75.

Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole went Mark Geale at 2.75m and to Tracker at 5.95m for the men and Rheannah Webb at 7.13m for the ladies on the Workers Club 8th.

  Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Peter Webster crept over the line at the end of the week to take the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher with 27 points edging out Tully junior Nathan Chandola and Brian Larkin who both scored 26. John Blair and Ray Turner made 25 each in a rundown that went to countback on 23. All players are to tee off from the white markers for the rest of the year.

 Minor Championships

 Jeremy Harrison stole the show in the final round of the championships taking out the best nett for the round (38.3) and winning the A Grade gross prize for 2018 on 149. B grade gross was won by Chris Elliott on 164 and the C Grade winner was Alan Bill on 181. The Ladies gross champion (on 193) and final round winner (on 46) was Di Schmitt.

The overall nett winners were A Grade Ray Turner (127), B Grade Don Grimston (132.3), C Grade Nathan Chandola (140 c/b) and Ladies Beryl Gray (146).

Sunday Competition

Jeremy Harrison came home steady to keep in front in the stroke event on Sunday with a nett 62, just keeping the Cooper pair of Shane and Trent at bay as they each came in with 63 nett. Don Grimston and Chris Elliott were next best on 68 each. Col Eggins secured the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th while John Smith came close to an eagle as he took the Gordon Hotel Drive and Pitch on the 11th with only a couple of centimetres to spare.   

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Eddie Hawkins was back in the winner’s circle last week for his 29 point round. Judy Moran headed up the ladies contingent with 24 points followed by John Blair 23, Chris Ryan 22, Nathan Chandola 21 and Josh Cooper 21. This Thursday (May 17) is the end of the 12 hole comp playing off the blue markers with the end of round 3 of the minor championships.   From Friday it is back to the whites.

Minor Championships

Round 2 saw Russell Lieschke (40.3) the best of the men and June Spillane (46.6) the best of the ladies and taking the weekly prizes. Overall leaders for the Gross scores after 2 rounds are Ray Turner 100 (A Grade), Nick Kearns 108 (B), Tony Clewett 121 (C) and Joy Leary 127 ( Ladies). Results are in the clubhouse window.

Congratulations to Anbarasan Mitchell on his 60m pitch for birdie in the Jack Newton Schools event at Forster Tuncurry last week.  

Ladies

Di Schmitt was the ladies division 1 winner last Monday with a nett 78 in the stroke event. June Spillane took out division 2 with her nett round of 75. Putting prizes went to Bev grocott (Div 1) with 32 putts and June Spillane (div 2) with 27. Joy Leary 81, Bev Grocott 82 and Georgina Cook 83 were in the rundown.
