Championships
Round 1 on Saturday saw Adam Boxsell take division 1 with nett 66 while young Ned Slater took division 2 with nett 63. The ball rundown for the day included Jack Murdoch 66, Josh Cooper, Russell Lieschke and Tony Clewett all on 67, Trent Cooper 68 on the way down to nett 71.
Sunday’s round 2 saw Adam Boxsell show his consistency with another 66 for the Division 1 while Wayne Minney took division 2 with an impressive 62.Sam McDonald had 65, Ned Slater 66 and Ray Turner and Russell Lieschke 69 each in a rundown to 71. Phil Elliott won the nearest the pin on Capital Country Plumbing 7th, Mac Fife won the Aarons trees drive and pitch on the 12th. Trent Cooper made an eagle on The Agency 15th.
Grade leaders so far are: A grade Gross Trent Cooper 145, A grade nett Adam Boxsell 132, B Grade gross Sam McDonald 178, B Grade nett Eddie Hawkins and Simon Jiang both on 145, C Grade Gross Ned Slater 172, C Grade nett Wayne Minney 133. Rounds 3 & 4 are this coming weekend with lots of changes to the leader board possible. Full results are in the clubhouse window.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Jack Murdoch got his first Goulburn Soldiers Club win with 29 points last week for the 12 holes over the field of 50 starters. Mick Regteschot was pushed into second for his 27 points round followed by Eddie Hawkins and Ned Slater both on 25. Tony Clewett, Malcolm Young, Lindsay Sergeant, Gordon Rankmore and Ratna rankmore all had 24 in a rundown that went to 21.
Coming from behind in the final week Mick Regteschot leapt to the top of the leader board in the Kevin Allen consistency comp to win with 104 points. Elsey Slater remained on 103 for second while Ned Slater crept to 102 for third. Thank you to all who took part in the competition and thanks to Val Allen for her continued support.
Ladies
Di Schmitt took the Division 1 and putting wins last week with nett 74 and 31 putts. Dvision 2 honours went to Beryl Howe on 73 nett and Ruth Beveridge with 30 putts (c/b). The rundown included June Spillane 76, Heather Buchanan 76 and Georgina Cook 78.
D.One chicken run
Jarred Twaddell’s foray into golf has paid off with a win in the 9 hole event of Friday afternoons at Tully. Jarred scored 23 points, and a handicap drop for next time, to find himself 3 ahead of the rundown trio of Trent Cooper, Josh Cooper and Jon Gegg all on 20.

Sunday Competition
Jack Murdoch and Jesse Cao topped the 40 player field in the 4 ball best ball stableford event on Sunday with 48 points. Anthony Cooper and Bryan Norris teamed up well for second on 45. Teams of Eddie Hawkins/ Russell Lieschke and John Smith/Ray Turner returned 42 points and for the rundown Graham tasker/ Royce Dockett and Tom James / Eddie Sivell on 42 on countback. Josh Cooper took nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8th and the Carpet Court drive and pitch on the 16th.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Tom Dunwoodie found some form to score 31 points last week for the win. Mick Regteschot had an impressive 27 followed by a strong ladies contingent of Di Schmitt 26, Nicole Minney, Ratna Rankmore and Elsey Slater all on 25. The rundown went to 21 on countback for the field of 43.
In a battle for the top spot for the Kevin Allen consistency comp, young Elsey Slater regained the lead last week with a 103 total while Ned Slater remained on 100. Mick Regteschot 99 started a late surge and Malcolm Young 93 and Gordon Rankmore still have a good chance to make a more in this final week.
Ladies
Georgina Cook was in the winners circle last week with 34 points to take out division 1 Beryl Howe won division 2 with 23 points. The rundown included Ratna Rankmore 34 and Joy Leary 33.
D.One chicken run
Tom James won the first D.One Accounting chicken run for 2020 after a countback with Jarred Hunt and Bill Reid when all three finished on 19 points.
Slater Drafting Par 3
Cooper Berrell scraped a close win on nett 22 just ahead of up and coming junior Cooper Cargill on 23. John Beveridge 25, Ellie Minney 26, Graham Mansfield 26, and Mick Regteschot, Beryl Gray, Terry Nixon and Noel James all on 27 made the rundown that went to 28 on countback.

Mick Regteschot backed up his recent form with a stableford win over the 18 holes last weekend scoring 39 points. Royce docket came in second on 37 with Phil Elliott next on 36. Chris Toole 35, Josh Cooper 34, Tim Elliott 34 and Gary Spence made up the rundown. Michael Wilson won the nearest the pin on the Goulurn Soldiers Club 14th and Jeremy Harrison took the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th. Trent Cooper took the eagles nest with a 3 on the Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th and Russell Lieschke scored 8 points for a countback win on the BC Training 6th, Chem Dry 10th and The Agency 15th holes for the mystery holes. Andrew Oliver won the lucky number draw with 75.

Last weeks voucher went to Mick Regteschot after a countback win over Ned Slater on 26. Andrew Olvier came in with 25 followed by Elsey Slater and Malcol;m Young both on 24. On 23 were Russell Schmitt, Tom Dunwoodie, Gordon Rankmore and Elsey Slater. The five people on 22 were Tom James, Beryl Howe, Margaret Gibson, Ken Wray and Don Pennay, then Graham tasker took the last ball in a countback on 21.
With only this week and next for anyone to make a move it is still Ned Slater on top in the Kevin Allen Consistency Comp with 100 points. Sister Elsey is still in range with 97 with Malcolm Young 93 and Mick Regteschot 92 still within striking distance of the top spot. Also in range of the top 3 prizes are Gordon Rankmore 88, John Smith 88, Andrew Oliver 87, Sam McDonald 86 and Trent Cooper 84. Thanks to V Allen for her donation to this competition

The Tully Ladies played a choice 9 stroke event last week with Ratna Rankmore the best in for division 1 with a nett 35 while Nicole Minney was division 2 winner on 36. The stroke and September monthly medal were won by Russell Schmitt (B grade) after a 4 card countback on 67. Michael Wilson won the A Grade after a countback on 67 and Andrew Oliver took the C Grade on 68. Also in the rundown were Craig Langby and Trent Cooper both on 67, Josh Cooper, Wayne Minney and Jack Murdoch each on 69, and Eddie Sivell, Tony Clewett and Ray Turner all on 70. Simon Jiang was nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole while Michael Wilson won the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch.

Di Schmitt finished with 25 points last week to take the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher in a field of 49 players. Ned Slater, Greg Maskill and Ruth Beveridge each came in with 23 followed by Mick Regteschot, John Smith, Ron Nunn, and Angus Regteschot all on 22. On 21 were Alan McDonald, Garry Handley and Malcolm Young and taking the final balls in the rundown were June Spillane, Don Pennay,Trent Cooper, Chris Ryan and Sam McDonald all on 20.
Last weeks 3rd round of the Kevin Allen consistency comp saw a change at the top with Ned Slater 74 steal the lead from sister Elsey on 73 and just holding ahead of John Smith 71, Malcolm Young and Trent Cooper both on 69. With 3 weeks to go it is still anybody’s race.
Ladies
The Ladies stroke event last Monday was won by Di Schmitt on 70 nett for division 1 and Elsey Slater on countback with 74 for division 2. The rundown included June Spillane 73, Nicole Minney 74, Heather Buchanan 76 and Ruth Beveridge 77. Putting went to Julia Scamperle and Ruth Beveridge for each division.

A wet Sunday morning saw 16 starters for the stableford event with Josh Cooper best placed with 35 points. On 34 points were Andrew Oliver, Bryan Norris, Angus Regteschot and Trent Cooper. Gary Spence and Ian Ginn both had 26 followed by John Smith on 25, then John Peterson on 24. The rundown went a long way down to 22. After 2 rounds of the annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition it is Elsey Slater who leads the way in 54 followed by Trent Cooper and John Smith both on 49 then Malcolm Young on 48. With 4 rounds left it is anyone’s race to the top prize of a $100 voucher (thanks to v Allen), the $60 and $30 vouchers.

Ratna Rankmore scored 32 points last week in the Ladies Stableford event winning on countback over Beryl Howe. June Spillane was next best on 24.

Dylan Maddock well have to check his handicap after a round of +4 in the Par event on Sunday saw him take the top prize and the Nearest the pin on the Worker’s Club 8th hole. Russell Schmitt finished on +2, Ryan Saville, Gary Spence and Chris Toole all on +1, Mac Fife and Andrew Oliver both finished square and Josh Lumsden played well for his -1 in a rundown that went to -3 for the field of 38 starters. Josh Cooper won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s trees 12th while Trent Cooper took the eagles nest on the Marino Fuels 3rd..

A large field of 55 contested the 12 hole event last week with young Elsey Slater taking home the $25 voucher from Goulburn Soldiers Club after a countback win over Greg Maskill when both finished on 27 points. On 26 were Malcolm Young, Gordon Rankmore and Trent Cooper followed by Don Pennay, Sam McDonald and Michael Wilson all on 25. The ball rundown went to 22 on a countback.
Ladies
Heading up the ladies division 1 last week and taking the Club Medal was Ratna Rankmore with nett 74 in the stroke event. Young gun Elsey Slater took division 2 with 68 nett and won the division 2 medal. Division 1 putting was won Georgina Cook with 34 while division 2 had Beryl Howe in front with 30. The ball rundown went to Nicole Minney 69, Beryl Howe 74 and Di Schmitt 79.
Slater Drafting Par 3
Noel James crept home over a field of 32 players in the September Slater Drafting Par 3 event on Saturday with a nett 24. Di Schmitt, Dylan Maddock and Trent Cooper all made 25 followed by Barry Brown, Nicole Minney and Max Sakaisi on 26 , Wayne Minney 27 and Ned Slater and John Beveridge 28 on countback.

In a battle of the best Tom Heath toppled Trent Cooper on a countback after both finished with 68 nett for the stroke event. Ryan Saville returned 70 followed by Ray Turner, Phil Elliott, Chris Toole, and Tom James all on 71. Gary Spence finished with 72 along with Sam McDonald in a four card countback. Darrelll Spence took the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club inland 11th and Mac Fife won the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel inland 8th.
Last week the Mystery holes went to Darrell Spence on the Merino Fuel 3rd, Goulburn Soldiers (inland) 6th and Aarons trees (inland) 18th with 7 points.

Trent Cooper broke through off his low handicap to send it lower with a 29 point countback win in the 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Club comp last week. Lindsay Sergeant was unlucky after also scoring 29 ahead of Chris Ryan 27, Eddie Hawkins 26, Alan McDonald 26, John Peterson 25, and Di Schmitt 25. Making up the rundown were Craig Langby 24, Kerry Bensley, Russell Lieschke, Ned Slater , Ratna Rankmore and Nicole Minney all on 23 and Josh Cooper, Brian Larkin and Peter Webster on 22 on countback. Friday saw the start of the first round of Kevin Allen Consistency Comp for 2020.

Ratna Rankmore took top honours last Monday for division 1 after scoring 32 points for her round. Di Schmitt won division 2 with 34. The rundown included Nicole Minney32, Ruth Beveridge 30 and Beryl Howe 30. Georgina Cook took the nearest the Pin on the Mitre 10 hole and Nicole Minney won the 18 hole consistency comp for the ladies.

A great round of 63 nett by Wayne Minney saw him take the monthly medal and win the stroke and C grade for August. Josh Cooper had 69 nett for the A grade win and Chris Elliott took the B Grade with 70. Mick Gray 66, Tim Elliott 67, Craig Langby 69, Gary Spence 70, Alan McDonald 70, Ian Peterson 71, Chris Toole 71, and Don Grimston 72 on countback. The Jewell Builders nearest the Pin was won by Mick Gray and Gary Spence won the Carpet Court Drive and Pitch.

Malcolm Young 23, Elsey Slater and Tim Elliott 22, Trent Cooper 21 headed up the rundown ahead of Chris Elliott, Russel Lieschke, Josh Cooper, Don Grimston, Eddie Hawkins and Ned Slater all on 20. Nicole Minney had a nett 77 for a win in the stroke event last week in the next round of the championships. Ruth Beveridge 79 and Elsey Slater 79 were in the rundown and Julia Scamperle won the putting comp with had 32 putts.

Mac Fife won the Mitre 10 nearest the pin and Chris Ryan won the drive and pitch on Ginny’s Building and Carpentry 1st.

With the recent flooding of the course and resultant closure the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp was cut short. Of those who got in early Tim Elliott played best securing his first Goulburn Soldiers Club $25 voucher for a rain affected 20 points.
AGM
The club’s Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday and saw the stepping down of Shane Cooper from the Presidency. Shane was thanked greatly for his service and for steering the club through a tough time to its current prosperity. Taking up positions for 2020-21 are Jeremy Ryan (Pres.), Chris Webb (vice Pres), Diana Schmitt (Sec/ Treas.), Russell Schmitt (Capt.), Tom James (Vice Capt.), Joy Leary (Ass. Sec.), and the committee of Joe Fehir, Ken Wray, Kerry Bensley and Gary Spence.
Juniors
The Tully Park – Belconnen team have won their final game against Gungahlin Lakes 3.5 to 2.5 leaving them in 3rd place and possibly just missing the finals by only 0.5 on a for and against. This final round saw Rheannah Webb, in her last season, win 2 up with 1 to play, Ned Slater winning 4 up and 2 to play and Elsey Slater squaring her match. A great effort by these three young Tully stars in what has been a difficult year of pennants.
