Tully Park Golf 25/04/2021

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Chris Ryan scooped the pool last week with a 27 point round just pipping Jason Slater on 26. Josh Lumsdon continues to improve with his 25 followed by Beryl Gray,  Josh Watling and Di Schmitt all on 24. Jack Murdoch came home with 23 then Alan McDonald 22 with Kade Watling, Mick Regterschot and Stephen Rigby making up the rundown after a countback on 21 over the 34 player field.

Minor Championships

Minor championships commence this Friday and run for 3 weeks. All Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole players must play off Blue (men) or Red (Ladies) for these 3 weeks even if you are not playing in the championships.  To play a championship round costs $15 only 1 round per week. Those not playing the championships pay the usual $7 (12 hole) or $10 (Sunday) fees.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan took top honours last week with a nett 65 and only 31 putts for the Div 1 and putting prizes. Beryl Gray won Div 2 with 69 and only 27 putts for the prize. In the rundown were Di Schmitt 71, Georgina Cook 72, Julia Scamperle 76 and Ratna Rankmore 77.

Kevin Peterson Matchplay

After some tight matches heading to the 19th hole for a winner the Kevin Peterson Matchplay event has entered round 2 with the 23 winners from round 1.  The updated draw is in the window and you have until May 20 to organise a time with your opponent and play the round.

Sunday Competition

Kerry Bensley and Darrell Spence teamed up to win the 4 ball best ball stableford on Sunday with 45 points. Within striking distance were the teams of Phil Elliott/ Max Sakiasi, Russ Schmitt/ Alan Bill and Alan McDonald/ Lindsay Sergeant each on 43 points. The Workers Club 8th nearest the pin and Gordon Hotel 11th drive and pitch were both unclaimed.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Trent Cooper came in with 27 points to take the win for the 12 holes last week after some strong rounds by Ratna Rankmore, Mark Berrisford and Tony Clewett all on 25.  Russell Lieschke and John Peterson both had 23 followed by Norm Aubrey Chris Ryan, Bryan Norris and Lindsay Sergeant all on 22 for the rundown. There were 36 starters.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore led division 1 with nett 76 last week in the ladies stroke event. Coming into form for division 2 was Nitika Chandola on 75. In the rundown were Beryl Howe 76 and Beryl Gray 78. Putting winners were Georgina Cook 31 and Beryl Gray 30.

Notices:  No competition Sunday April 25 due to ANZAC Day. Minor championships commence April 30 and run for three weeks. Minors can be played as part of 12 or 18 hole competitions cost $15/ round, only 1 round of minors per week. Check the draw for the Kevin Peterson Matchplay event as round 1 will finish April 22 and round 2 commences Friday 23 April.

Sunday Competition

Next Sunday 4BBB stableford at Tully.

Mick Regterschot handled the cold windy conditions well for a win with 36 points on Sunday as well as the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th. Mark Berrisford scored 34 points Bill Reid 33 and Michael Wilson and Russ Schmitt each on 32, Eddie Sivell and Ray Turner each 31 and finishing the rundown were Eddie Hawkins , Tom James and Chris Elliott all on 30. Ian Peterson won the mystery holes for April after countback on the Merino Fuel 3rd, Chem Dry 10th and The Agency 15th holes with 7 points. Ryan Saville won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th.

Mick Regterschot hasd a countback win for the 12 holes last week over Russell Lieschke after both finished on 25 points. Bryan Norris, Di Schmitt, Lachlan Bill and John Smith all finished on 24. Stephen Rigby made 23 and included in the rundown on 22 were Eddie Hawkins, James Will and Russell Schmitt.

 Ladies

Di Schmitt led the way for division 1 with 33 points in last week’s ladies stableford event. Joining the winners circle for the first time in division 2 Nitika Chandola won on countback over Beryl Howe with 32 points. Georgina Cook won the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th and Ruth Beveridge made the rundown with 31.

Southern Highlands Veterans

Last Thursday the Southern Highland Vets played a 4 person Ambrose at Tully with the winning team consisting of Ron Williams, Tony O’Brien, Brett Sloane  and Tully regular Michael Wilson on 56.25. Next best were Richard Crockett, John Smith, Elisabeth Shepherd and Michael Morrison on 56.75 and third were Terry Flint, Graham Tasker, Russell Hillsley and Roger Surian on 57.875.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Di Schmitt won the Par 3 with nett 26 with Jason Slater 28, Cooper Cargill 29 and Nitika Chandola 29 for the rundown.

Junior Pennants

Ned Slater won his pennants semifinal match 1 up but the Belconnen/ Tully team went down 4 to 3.

Sunday Competition

Lachlan Bill and Mick Regterschot teamed up for the American Foursomes on Sunday returning 61 nett for a win. Teams of Jeremy Harrison / Phil Elliott and Tom James / Ryan Saville both performed well to finish with 63. Simon Jiang took the nearest the pin on both the Mitre 10 and Worker’s Club holes. Names are needed for the Tully vs RSL match at Goulburn on April 18 so if you are going to play get your name down at the clubhouse asap.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Max Sakiasi was last week’s winner on 27 points after a countback against Malcolm Young. Simon Jiang and Tim Elliott both finished on 23 followed by Russ Schmitt and Greg Maskill on 22, Graham Tasker 21 and Don Pennay on a countback on 20.

 Ladies

Georgina Cook took the win last week with 27 points for the round. Di Schmitt and Beryl Howe each finished with 26 points.

Slater Drafting Par 3

April Par 3 event is on Sat April 10 tee 7.30am to 12pm. Cost $7/ player.

Sunday Competition

The March Stroke monthly medal round was won by Bill Reid with nett 68 on countback over Aaron Swanson. Jeremy Harrison, Russ Schmitt and Ray Turner all finished on 73followed by Craig Langby, Chris Ryan and Don Grimston on 74, Mick Gray and Paul Wray each on 75 and on 76 after a 4 card countback Russell Lieschke. Mick Gray won the nearest the pin on the Jewell Builders hole and Ray Turner took the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole and Ladies comps were abandoned last week due to flooding.

Sunday Competition

A waterlogged group took the field on Sunday with Tim Elliott proving the best of the field with 35 points  after a countback with Mick Regterschot. Chris Toole took both the March mystery holes with 7points on the Merino Fuel, Goulburn Soldiers Club and Chris Ryan Plumbing holes and the nearest the pin .

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Jon Gegg’s 27 points last week was enough to get him a win for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition. Craig Langby was next best on 26 followed by Bryan Norris 23, Brian Larkin and Greg Maskill both on 22. O 21 were Trent Cooper, Simon Jiang and Mark Berrisford and finishing the rundown for the 33 players were Chris Ryan, John Peterson and Ned Slater all on 21 on countback.

Ladies

Georgina Cook was best in the Ladies stroke event last week at Tully with nett 74 for division 1 while Beryl Howe won division 2 with 84 on countback. The rundown included Julia Scaperle 79, Heather Buchanan 80 and Joy Leary 82. Putting honours went to Joy Leary on 24 and Beryl Howe on 30 for each division.

Pennants

The final round of the pennants season saw Tully defeat Crookwell 4 to 2 at RMC. Trent Cooper 6 and 5, Jeremy Harrison 2up, Adam Boxsell 2 and 1 and Mick Regterschot  4 and 2 racked up the points while Josh Cooper 3 and 2 and Mac Fife 2 down were both unlucky on the day. That is the final game for the Fife Stockfeed sponsored Tully Pennants team for 2021. Hopefully the guys have the hunger for next year.

Sunday Competition

Michael Wilson’s nett 70 was good enough to win the stroke event last weekend over the small but wet field. Mick Regterschot had 71 and Mark Berrisford 72. Paul Wray took the n.t.p for the Workers Club 8th and the drive and pitch for Ginny’s Building and Carpentry went begging.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Di Schmitt won last weeks voucher from the Goulburn Soldiers Club with 29 points for the 12 holes. Wayne James also played the course well with his 27 points and Malcolm Young scored 25. The rundown included Bryan Norris 24, John Blair 23 and after a 7 card countback on 22; Wayne Brown, Brett Buckley, Brian Larkin Don Pennay and John Smith.

Ladies

The Ladies divisions 1 and 2  stableford event s last week were won y Diana Schmitt and Beryl Howe respectively on 39 and 30 points. Ratna Rankmore led the rundown on 32 with Julia Scamperle 30 and Beryl Gray 27. Julia also took the nenarest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th  .

Pennants

All matches were washed out. The men play their final round next Sunday at RMC against Crookwell.

Sunday Competition

+3 was the best score for the Par event on Sunday and Eddie Hawkins prevailed after a 3 card countback over Ben Elliott and Russell Lieschke. Chris Elliott finished with +1 and along with Alan McDonald and Max Sakiasi, both square, made up the rundown. Russell Lieschke won both the Mitre 10 nearest the pin and the Gordon Hotel drive and pitch.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Lindsay Sergeant scored top honours last week in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition with his 27 points. Josh Lumsdon was next best on 26 followed by Wayne Brown on 25 and Craig Langby 25 and an eagle on the Merino Fuels 3rd. Michael Wilson and Di Schmitt each scored 24, Greg Maskill, Alan McDonald and Simon Jiang 23, Bill Reid, Mick Gray and Waýne James each on 22 made the rundown. There were 37 starters.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan scored a countback win for the Gross prize at last weeks Ladies Opening Day.  Heather had scored 100 and won on countback over Di Schmitt. Ratna Rankmore took the nett prize for Division 1 on 73. June Spillane won Division 2 with 101 gross while Elsey Slater earned the nett for her 74.Putting for the divisions went to Georgina Cook (30) and Beryl Howe (31 on c/b). The rundown included Di Schmitt 74, Jeanelle Slater 78, Beryl Gray 80, Joy Leary 81, Georgina Cook 83 and Ruth Beveridge 85.

Pennants

Two in a row for the Fife’s Stockfeed sponsored team from Tully Park against Yowani at Crookwell on Sunday. Jeremy Harrison, Ray Turner, Sam McDonald and Mick Regterschot all won and with Tom James coming home square the team got up 4.5 to 1.5.  Next Sunday is at Goulburn against Fairbairne.

In the juniors Ned Slater lost his match for the Belconnen/ Tully team 7 and 5 as the team went down to Gungahlin Lakes. The team’s next match is against Gold Creek.

Sunday Competition

Ben Elliott showed the way blitzing the field with a nett 59 on Sunday to take the C Grade medal and the stroke event win. Michael Wilson topped the A Grade with nett 70 and Ian Peterson took the B Grade with 71. In the rundown were Andrew McDonald 67, Chris Toole 70, Josh Lumsdon 70, Robert Kelly 70, Bill Reid 71 and Darrell Spence 71 after a 3 card countback. Bill Reid was nearest the Pin on Captial Country Plumbing 7th and Chris Toole took the drive and pitch on Aaron’s Trees 12th.

Greg Maskill was victorious last week over the 12 holes  with 25 points. Mark Berrisford scored 24 followed by Stephen Rigby and Peter Webster each on 23. Eddie Hawkins, Lindsay Sergeant , Trent Cooper and Josh Cooper all had 22 and Malcolm Young, Don Pennay and John Smith each had 21 for the countback in the rundown.

Ladies

Di Schmitt had a countback win in the stableford event for division 1 last week after she and Ratna Rankmore both finished on 31 points. Beryl Howe took division 2 with 26 points. The rundown included Rheannah Webb 28, Joy Leary 26 and Ruth Beveridge 26.

Pennants

The Fife’s Stock Feed sponsored men’s Tully Park pennants team notched up a win over Yass at Fairbairne on Sunday. Mick Regterschot up 6 & 4, Ray Turner up 2 &1 , Josh Cooper up 2 &1, and after a totally played for “cart path” bounce, Trent Cooper squared his match. This Sunday they play Yowani at Crookwell.

The Tully juniors Ned and Elsey Slater, as part of the Belconnen team, Ned won 3 & 1 Elsey went down 3 & 2 and the team won 4 to 2 against Royal Canberra. Next week they play Gungahlin Lakes at Royal.

Sunday Competition

40 points by Eddie Sivell won the stableford event on Sunday followed by Chris Elliott next on 37. Chris also won the mystery holes for February with 7 on countback for the BC Training 6th, The Agency 15th and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th  holes. Making up the rundown were Simon Jiang 34,  Max Sakiasi and Tom Dunwoodie each 33 and Lindsay Sergeant on 32 on countback. Nearest the pin on the Workers 8th was James Will and the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th was Simon Jiang.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Ken Wray took top honours for the 12 hole event sponsored by the Goulburn Soldiers Club with his 24 points last week. Mark Berrisford and Brian Larkin both finished on 23, and on 22 were Gordon Rankmore, Eddie Hawkins, Jack Murdoch, John Smith and Brett Buckley. Finishing off the rundown on countback were Alan McDonald and Malcolm Young each on 21.  There were 32 starters for the round.

Ladies

Joy Leary and Ratna Rankmore were joint winners of division 1 of the Stroke minimum 9 when both finished with 33.3 nett. Beryl Gray won division 2 with 32 nett. The rundown included Di Schmitt 32.3 and Heather Buchanan 32.6. Putting was won by Di Schmitt with 26 and Beryl Howe on 34 for Div 1 and Div 2 respectively.

Pennants

The Tully Pennant team sponsored by Fife Stockfeed battled hard but went down 3.5 to 2.5 against Gold Creek on Sunday. Trent Cooper and Jeremy Harrison scored wins and Mick Regterschot squared his match. Next week they play Yass at Fairbairne.

Mixed Foursomes

Chris Toole and Rheannah Webb teamed up well on Saturday to scrape home for a win in the Tully Park Mixed Foursomes sponsored by W & N Minney when they finished with nett 68.5 while Heather Dunlop and Alan McDonald finished on 69. The rundown saw the teams of Beryl Gray / Bruce Dunlop 72, Beryl Howe/ Alan Bill 72 and Ratna Rankmore/ Gordon Rankmore 23.5.  Bery Gray and Bruce Dunlop won the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th and Rheannah Webb and Chris Toole took the drive and pitch on Aaron’s Trees 12th. Nine teams played.

Notices:  Sunday Feb 28 Stroke Monthly Medal.   This is the final week for names to go on the Kevin Peterson Matchplay event so we can get the draw done up to run from April. It is open to all Tully members with a G.A handicap – check details in the clubhouse window (right of door). All golfers are asked to download the Service NSW app onto their phones and scan the QR code in the window (left of door) when playing at Tully.
