10/4/2022 Tully Park Golf

Sunday Competition

Tully scored a win over the RSL club in the teams event after a two year Covid/ flood hiatus for the competition. Leading the way for Tully was Kerry Bensley with 41 and close behind were Bill Reid and Mick Gray each on 39. Tony McLaughlin had 38 and John Smith and Mac Fife each finished on 37. It was a great day for the Tully players with thanks to the RSL Social Golf committee for their organising of the day, the RSL players for the competition and the Goulburn Golf Club for the facilities.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Visiting player Andrew Galland took the honours last week over the 12 holes with 26 points. Greg Robertson played well for his 25 to headline the rundown which included Garry Handley , Maxine McLaughlin and Dejan Nedanoski all on 23, Toni Mitchell and Beryl Gray on 22, Stan Geale on 21 and after a countback Darryl Robertson and John Smith.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin backed up last week’s win with a  74 nett for division 1 ‘this week. was Beryl Gray took Div 2 with 77. The rundown included Joy Leary 75, Heather Buchanan on 76 and Georgina Cook on 77.  Ratna Rankmore led the putting on 30 and Beryl Gray had 33.

K & N Peterson Matchplay Draw

Round 1 has commenced and is to be completed by April 21.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Russell Schmitt had a much needed return to form for the short game finishing with nett 30 for the Slater Drafting Par 3 on Saturday. Noel James was next best on 31. The May Par 3 event is on May 7.

Notices:  Sunday April 17 Stableford. Foursome Championships are May 1 with R1 & 2 on the day. Please book carts in advance with the expectation of sharing the carts for the rounds. Sunday Competition

Andrew Balabka scored 40 points to win the stableford event on Sunday. Tom Heath took second on 35 with Eddie Hawkins, Tony McLaughlin, Ian Baxter and Gary Spence all on 32. Mick Regterschot had 31 and John Smith and Chris Ryan both had 30. Trent Cooper took the Jeremy Ryan Plumbing nearest the pin and the Aaron’s trees drive and pitch and the Priceline Jackpot hole will be carried over to April 17 .

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Roly Wong had his first win in the the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp with 25 points last week. Brett Buckley had 24 followed on 23 by Angela Deacon, Beryl Gray and Stan Geale. On 22 were Michael Brown, Stephen Apps, and Ian Ginn and finishing the rundown on 21 were Maxine McLaughlin and Chris Ryan.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin was the Div 1 winner last week for the ladies with 75 nett and Berly Gray took Div 2 with 79. The rundown included Heather Buchanan and Georgina Cook each on 80. Heather also won Div 1 putting with 35 and Beryl Howe div 2 with 29.

Round 1 has commenced and is to be completed by April 21.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The April round of the Slater Drafting Par 3 is on Sat April 9 with tee off 7.30am to 11am. Cost is $7/ player.

Notices:  Sunday April 10 Tully v RSL at Goulburn 4BBB Stableford– cost $30 each please bring cash on the day.  Tee off 6.30 to 7.30am at Goulburn. Sunday Competition

Ian Baxter has joined the monthly medal winners list for the gold medal playoff in November after winning the March event with nett 66 to take the C Grade medal. John Smith returned refreshed to take the A grade win with 70 and won the drive and pitch on the D.One Accounting 11th and the jackpot on the Jeremy Ryan Plumbing 7th. The Workers Club nearest the pin went begging this month. Russ Schmitt won the B grade with net 27. In the rundown were Roly Wong and Tom Heath both on 71.

Ladies

Round 1 of the ladies’ championships was won by Georgina Cook with a nett score of 71 and having 29 putts. Heather Buchanan was in the rundown with 79 nett.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Kerry Bensley led the way with 26 points last week in a field of 46. Ian Ginn and Chris Deegan both had 24. On 23 were Jeremy Ryan, Mick Gray and Wayne Brown ahead of Eddie Hawkins on 22. Russell Lieschke, Zacc Broderick, John Blair, Mitch Cook, Roly Wong and Richard Miller all had 21 in a countback that went to 20 on a 10 card countback..

Pennants

The Tully Pennants team finished their season on Sunday with a loss to Yass 3.5 to 2.5. Adam Boxsell won 2 up, Tom James 1 up and Ray Turner finished square. Josh Cooper went down 1, Mick Regterschot down 4 & 2 and Mac Fife down 7 & 5.

Sunday Competition

Andrew Balabka held it together in a heavy course with 36 points on Sunday in the stableford event. Russell Lieschke headed up the rundown with 34 followed by Tony McLaughlin and Tom Heath on 32, Hamish McCormack 30 and Chris Ryan finished the rundown with 27 on countback. Russell Schmitt took the mystery holes for March with 7 points for Aaron’s Trees 9th, The Agency 12th and D.One Accounting 17th. Tom Heath took the Jewell Builder’s nearest the pin and the Jackpot hole for Argyle Cleaning and drive and pitch for carpet Court were not won.

Mixed Foursomes

The mixed foursomes was won by Georgina Cook and Tony McLaughlin with 73.5 nett while Beryl Howe and Kerry Bensley were second on 73.9

Ladies

Georgina Cook handled the wet conditions the best on her way to a win in the gross event with 120 for division 1 and had a countback win for the nett on 91 with Joy Leary. Grace Prigg scored 119 for the division 2 win and Lil Ryan won the nett on 76. Beryl Gray 82 and June Spillane were in the rundown. Putting went to June Spillane 33 and Beryl Gray 30.

The Ladies’ stableford event was won by Lil Ryan on 33 while Grace Prigg was next on 30. Grace also won the Mystery Holes on Ginny’s building and Carpentry, Goulburn Soldiers Club and Alan Bill Electrical holes. The rundown included Beryl Gray 27 and Beryl Howe 19.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Brett Buckley scored 24 points last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp to take the win with Peter Webster and Stephen Apps each on 22. On 21 were Jeremy Ryan, Tony McLaughlin and Greg Maskill and on 20 Dejan Nedanoski, Ian Baxter, Eddie Anning and Mark Berrisford. Max Sakiasi took the final ball after a countback on 19.

Pennants

The Tully pennants team scored a 5 to 1 win over Belconnen in the second last round of the season. Josh Cooper won 5 and 4, Jeremy Harrison, Tom James and Brett Buckley all were 3 and 2, and Adam Boxsell won 2 up. Ray Turner went down in a close match 3 and 1.

After a wet week Tully is back in action.

Sunday Competition

Michael Wilson handled the condition better than the rest on his way to a nett 70 on Sunday in the stroke event. Ian Baxter finished second with 71 and the jackpot win on the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole. Phil Elliott had 73, Kerry Bensley 75, Zacc Broderick 75, Tony Clewett 75, Gary Spence 76, and after a 6 card countback Chris Ryan and Tom Heath 77. Russell Lieschke won both the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas hole and the nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole.

Ladies

Ladies were washed out last week.

Slater Drafting Par 3

Graham Mansfield took top honours for the Slater Drafting Par 3 for march with nett 27. Nicole Minney took family bragging rights with 29 and Michael Wilson made up the rundown after a countback on 30.

Elsey Slater got a win for her match against Goulburn 3 and 2 as the Tully /Yowani team went down 4 to 2.

The Tully men played against Gold Creek at Federal and lost 4 and 2 with Tom James getting a win and Jon Gegg and Brett Buckley both halved their matches.

Chris Deegan, with 23 points, has scored his first win in the 12 hole comp at Tully after a countback over Mark Berrisford. Stephen Apps and Ian Ginn both made the rundown in a wet round for the week. Thanks to Goulburn Soldiers Club for their continued support.

Ladies

Georgina Cook has had good form recently with another Division 1 win with 29 points in the stableford event and the nearest the pin on the Priceline 2nd . Ruth Beveridge also played well taking division 2 with 30. Beryl Gray 29 and Beryl Howe 28 made the rundown

The Tully team went down to Goulburn at Yass on Sunday 4 to 2. Ray Turner got a win 3 & 2 while Mick Regterschot and Josh Cooper both squared. Jon Gegg lost 4 & 2, Jeremy Harrison was only 1 down and Mac Fife lost 8 & 6. Next week they play at Federal against Gold Creek.

Sunday Competition

Chris Ryan won the stroke event and the A grade Monthly Medal for February after a countback over Gary Spence when both finished on 64 nett. Ian Peterson won B grade with nett 65 and Andrew Balabka took C grade with 72. Also in the rundown were Jeremy Harrison 69, Kerry Bensley 69, Russell Lieschke 71 and Mick Gray 72 after a countback. Mac Fife won the jackpot hole on the Argyle Cleaning 17th, Andrew Balabka was nearest the pin on Goulburn Soldiers 14th and Michael Wilson won the drive and pitch for the Carpet Court 16th.

Ian Baxter topped the list last week with 27 points for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event. Chris Ryan and Tony McLaughlin each scored 26 and Maxine Mclaughlin, Russell Lieschke and Mick McDonald all had 25 points. The rundown went to 22 on a 4 card countback. Russell Lieschke won the eagles nest for the D.One Accounting hole.

Ladies

In the minimum 9 competition last week Georgina Cook led the way for division 1 with her nett 25 while also taking the putting for the group on 35. Div 2 was a tie between Beryl Howe and Ruth Beveridge with both on 30.6, Beryl also won the putting with 28. The rundown included Ratna Rankmore 28 and Maxine McLaughlin 29.6.

Bill Reid hit his straps on his way to 42 points on Sunday in the stableford event. Eddie Hawkins stayed strong for his 39. Ron Nunn and Chris Ryan both had 36 followed by Jeremy Ryan, Peter Gurr and Kerry Bensley each on 35. Ian Baxter and Don Grimston both had 34 for the rundown. Daniel Dugdale won the Mystery Holes for his 8 points on the B C Training 6th, The Agency 15th and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th. Roly Wong took the neares the pin for the Mitre 10 hole and Tom Heath won the drive and pitch for Aaron’s trees 12th. Ian Baxter took the jackpot hole for the Priceline Pharmacy 2nd.

Phil Heath was last week’s winner with 29 points followed closely by Rn Nunn on 28. Ian Baxter scored 26 then Wayne Blay on 25. Russell Lieschke and Mark Berrisford each had 24 and on 23 were Eddie Hawkins, Brian Larkin and Stephen Rigby. John Blair made 22 and on 21 were Stephen Apps, Maxine McLaughlin and John Smith then, after a countback on 20, Mick McDonald.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin won division 1 of the ladies stableford event last week with 33 points. Grace prig won div 2 on 35. Nearest the Pin on Jeremy Ryan Plumbing 7th was Ruth Beveridge. The rundown for the day went to Beryl Gray 33 and Heather Buchanan 27.

Pennants

Elsey Slater squared her pennants match for the Tully Park/ Yowani team. The team, coming off a win for their last match went down this time against Belconnen/ Queanbeyan. Her next match will be in a couple of weeks.

The Tully Park men’s B grade handicap team scored a win 3.5 to 2.5 against Crookwell. Jon Gegg, Ray Turner and Jeremy Harrison all won, Mick Regterschot squared and Josh Cooper and Tom James has losses. Tully have the bye next week while they host the other teams.

Sunday Competition

Fifteen teams took part in the 4 person ambrose on Sunday with Andrew Balabka, Brandon Courts, Mitch Cook and Hamish McCormack proving victorious in a tight field with 53.25. Tom Heath, Chris Ryan, Jeremy Ryan and Peter Gurr banded together well for their 53.5 and the team of Brett Buckley, Josh Buckley, Brad Buckley and Chris Deegan returned 54. Teams of James Will, Josh Ryrie, Dylan Maddock and Shane Wilson had 54.6 and Ryan Wilson, Ryan Saville, Tom James and James Wilson had 55.5. Fourteen of the teams finished under 60. Chris Deegan won the first nearest the pin on Jeremy Ryan Plumbing hole and Ian Peterson took the second on the Worker’s Club hole

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Zacc Broderick came in a winner for his first competition last week finishing with 29 points. Mitch Cook and other newcomer Adam Gordon both had 27. Ian Baxter scored 26 just ahead of Brett Buckley and Eddie Anning on 25 each. Mark Berrisford and Trent Cooper both made 24 followed by John Smith and Ron Nunn 22 and then Russell Lieschke, Maxine McLaughlin and Max Sakiasi on 21 after a countback.

Slater Drafting par 3

Flynn Wilson had a countback win over Alan Gray after both finished on nett 24 in the February Slater drafting Par 3 at Tully on Saturday. In the rundown for the day were

Grace Prigg won the Ladies stableford last Monday with 34 points taking the nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole on her way. Beryl Howe was next best on 28 and Maxine McLaughlin had 27. Ladies play Mondays and meet at 8.30am.

Pennants

In her first round of pennants last week Elsey Slater was unlucky to go down 4 and 3 in her spot for the combined Tully / Yowani team against Yass.

The Tully Men’s B grade handicap team played Federal at Crookwell on Sunday and finished with a draw. Mac Fife won big with 7 up and 6 to play while Josh Cooper and Jeremy Harrison both won 3 & 2. Mick regterschot, Jon Gegg and Adam Boxsell were each unlucky to go down in close matches.

Tony McLaughlin scored a countback win over Ray Turner after both finished on 37 points on Sunday for the stableford event. Ray also won the jackpot on the Jewell Builder hole. Tom Heath had 35, Jeremy Harrison and Michael Wilson both on 33, Eddie Hawkins and Tony Clewett each on 31 and Mark Berrisford and Mitch Cook each on 30 finished off the rundown after a 5 card countback. Ian Peterson won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

James Wilson backed up last week’s great performance with another win on 28 points. Mark Berrisford finished with 26 followed by Brett Buckley 24 and then on 22 John Smith, Chris Deegan and Shaun O’Neill. There were 22 players last week.
