Ladies played their annual Captain Vs Presidents Day , the winner was the Captains team with 134 pts , the Captains winner was Heather Buchanan with 36 pts , the Presidents winner was Maxine McLaughlin with 35 pts , NTP for the Captains team was Heather Buchanan and NTP for the Presidents team was Jenni Price , the ball rundown went to Ratna Rankmore 33 pts , Lil Ryan 33 pts & Georgina Cook 32 pts .

The Goulburn Soldiers Club Midweek comp was won by Peter Webster with 26 pts on C/B from Alan McDonald , Hayden Ward managed 25 pts , Brian Larkin scored 24 pts , Tony McLaughlin , Ken Wray , Russell Lieschke & Greg Maskill all had 23 pts , Phil Heath , Craig Brown & Kevin Breen all scored 22 pts , Wayne Blay and daughter Kylie Blay both had 21 pts .

Sunday was Championships Round 2 and Monthly Medal combined which saw Wade Pomery win overall with 63 nett taking the medal and A Grade in the Championships , Russell Schmitt won B Grade with 66 nett & Wayne Blay claimed C Grade with 65 nett , the ball rundown then went to Chris Lewis & Wayne Blay 65 nett , John Smith , Russell Schmitt & Gary Spence all with 66 nett , Bill Ried & Adam Rowe 67 nett , Kerry Bensley & Mick Evens 68 nett , Kim Fahey , Dean Horne & Ian Baxter all on 69 nett . John Gray took the jackpot hole , 2 weeks running now . John Smith jagged the 7th NTP , Roly Wong managed the 14th NTP , Tony McLaughlin snuck in to take the 13th D&P and Russell Lieschke was closest on the 16th D&P .

Round 3 of the Championships starts Saturday morning so the course is closed to Social players until 12pm .

The overall winner on C/B was Matt Bird on 65 nett from Mick Evans , Russell Lieschke won A Grade with 66 nett , Sam Cosgrove won B Grade with 67 nett & matt Bird won C Grade . The ball rundown went to Russell Lieschke 66 nett , Sam Cosgrove & John Smith 67 nett , ray Turner & Mitch Cook 68 nett , Ian Peterson , Bill Reid  Glenn Baxter & Dean Horne all on 69 nett , Tony McLaughlin & Simon Jiang on 70 nett . John Gray won the jackpot hole , Ray Turner cleaned up the 7th NTP , Tom James claimed both the NTP 14th & the D&P 16th , Roly Wong jagged the D&P 16th .

Ladies golf results for Monday 21st October , the ladies played their 18 hole stroke & putting event which Georgina Cook won division 1 with 75 nett on C/B from Maxine McLaughlin , Lil Ryan won division 2 with 71 nett . Maxine McLaughlin won the putting aspect of division 1 with 32 putts & Ruth Beveridge won division 2 with 30 putts on C/B , The ball rundown then went to Maxine McLaughlin 75 nett , Jenni Price 76 nett and Heather Buchanan with 77 nett .

The Goulburn Soldiers Club midweek competition was won by Scott Sherer with 24 pts , Russell Lieschke and Tony Clewett both had 23 pts , Chris Lewis , Kim Fahey , Hayden Ward , Lindsay Sergeant and Dean Horne all had 22 pts , Brett Buckley and Maxine McLaughlin both had 21 pts.

Sunday Competition was a 2 person ambrose which Trent Cooper & Bill Reid won with 60 3/4 nett , next were Chris Lewis & Luke Dixon with 61 1/2 nett, Justin Cross & Sam Woodberry totalled 62 1/4 nett ,Eddie Sivell & Simon Jiang managed 62 3/4 nett and Brett Buckley & Sam Cosgrove got away with 64 nett . Bill Reid was best at the jackpot hole .

This Saturday is round 1 of the championships and they will be played as preferred lies throughout the green due to the course not having enough volunteers to mow it adequately to host such an event , unfortunately the rough in places will make it very difficult for members to find their balls .

Ladies results for 14th October 2024 , Ladies played a 18 hole stroke & putting event which saw the division 1 winner as Heather Buchanan with 70 nett and division 2 winner to be Lil Ryan with 73 nett . Putting winner for division 1 was Heather Buchanan on C/B with 30 putts and Ruth Beveridge taking out division 2 with 36 putts . The ball rundown went to Georgina Cook with 75 nett & Maxine McLaughlin with 76 nett .

The Goulburn Soldiers Club Midweek comp was won by Greg Maskill with 25 pts , Liam Harmer & Brian Larkin followed up  with 23 pts , Ian Baxter , John Gray , David King , Tony Clewett , Malcolm Young & Lindsay Sergeant al had 22 pts .

Sunday Competition was a 4 Ball Aggregate and Justin Cross & Mitch Cook were triumphant amassing 70 pts , Russell Lieschke & Eddie Hawkins came in 2nd with 66 pts ,Ken Wray & Luke Wray had 65 pts . Tony Clewett & Don Grimston had 64 pts , Lindsay Sergeant & Alan McDonald had 63 pts .  Max Sakiasi won the Jackpot Hole as well as the NTP 14th , Matt Bird won the NTP 7th , Dean Horne collected the D&P 13th whilst Grant Mooney took the D&P 16th . Jesse Cao jagged an eagle on the par 5 15th hole .

Next week is a 2 person ambrose . members please be reminded that there is only preferred lies on the fairway of the hole you are playing only . Championships begin Saturday 26th October 2024 and the rounds 3 & 4 will be seeded .

The Goulburn Soldiers Club Midweek Comp was won by David King with 25 pts on C/B from Mal Maher , Ian Baxter , Ian Peterson & Tony McLaughlin all finished up with 24 pts , Don Pennay , Martell Maher , Russell Lieschke & Marty Smith all had 23 pts , Peter Webster managed 22 pts . Russell Lieschke claimed the eagles nest with an eagle on the 11th hole .

Sunday Competition was a stableford and Doug Stevens snuck away with the main prize scoring 36 pts , Matt Bird came in with 33 pts , John Smith & Alan Bill both shot 32 pts whilst Eddie Sivell & Ian Peterson both came in with 31 pts . Eddie Sivell took home the mystery holes prize , Tony Mclaughlin was closest on the D&P 13th & 16th holes . No one got even close to the jackpot or the NTP holes .

Tony McLaughlin lost to Ian Peterson in their round of the Matchplay and this leaves Ian Peterson to play Andrew Balabka in the final for the major prize and honours . They will play the final round on Sunday the 20th October 2024

Next week is a 4 Ball Aggregate , there will only be  “preferred lies” only on the fairway you are playing in preparation for the championships beginning 26th October 2024 .

Ladies played their 2 Person Ambrose & NTP Event , the winners were Georgina Cook & Heather Buchanan with 73 1/4 nett , NTP winners were Jenni Price & Lil Ryan .

The Goulburn Soldiers Club Midweek comp was won this week by John Blair easily with 26 pts , followed by Scott Sherer who shot 24 pts , Bryan Norris on 22 pts , then Tony Clewett , Dean Horne & Ian Baxter all with 21 pts , Malcolm, Young & Ken Wray both with 20 pts.

Sunday was the Monthly Medal which had Matt Bird winning with 64 nett on C/B from Justin Cross , Ray Turner won the A Grade division with a solid 68 nett , Simon Jiang took out B Grade also with 68 nett & Matt Bird won C Grade , after those blokes the ball rundown went to Mick Evans 68 nett ,  Roly Wong  , Alan McDonald & Max Sakiasi all having tallied 70 nett , Alan Bill managed 71 nett , Tony Clewett , Dean Horne & Doug Stevens all scored 72 nett . Roly Wong took the Jackpot Hole 5th , Graeme Nesbitt claimed both the NTP holes , Josh Cohen won the D&P 13th leaving Max Sakiasi with the D&P 16th .
