Sunday Competition

Alan Bill and Russell Schmitt teamed up for a nett 62 to win the 2 person Ambrose event on Sunday just ahead of Sam McDonald and Tom James on 62.25. Greg Granger and Luke Wray posted 64.25 and Ian Peterson and Tony Clewett had 66.75 for the rundown.

The jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole went to Jeremy Harrison, nearest the pins went to Chris Elliott (Alan Bill Electrical 7^th and Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th), Gary Spence (Workers Club 8^th) and Alan Bill (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th). The drive and pitch prizes went to Ian Peterson/ Tony Clewett (Lee and Thomas 13^th) and Jeremy Harrison/ Eddie Hawkins (Carpet Court 16^th)

Sunday March 22 is a 4 Ball  Aggregate. Saturday March 21 Joe Fehir Memorial Mixed Foursome event. Teams are asked to be at the clubhouse by 8.30 for a shotgun start at 9am. Thanks to all of our great volunteers for their help around the clubhouse and course.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Competition

Terry Berg scored 25 points last week to take the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. Malcolm Young had 23 followed by Craig Brown and Tony Clewett on 22. Also in the rundown were Brian Larkin and Steve Rigby on 21 and Lindsay Sergeant, Alan McDonald and Tony McLaughlin each on 20 on countback.

There will be changes to the handicapping for the midweek competition soon so keep an eye out for the notices in coming weeks.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin scored 28 points last Monday to win division 1 of the stableford event. Barbara Miller scored 31 for a win in division 2. Gail Kennerley 27 and Beryl Gray 20 and Lil Ryan 18 were in the rundown.

Sunday Competition

Chris Ryan won the stableford event on Sunday with 40 points. Roly Wong took second with 39. Luke Wray had 35 and won the mystery holes with 8 points. Tony McLaughlin and Ray Turner each had 34, on 33 were Ken Wray and Mark Ryan, Glenn Baxter had 32 and  Simon Jiang finished the rundown on 31.

The Mitre 10 Jackpot hole caries over to next week. Nearest the pins went to Simon Jiang (BC Training 6^th), Dean Horne (Alan Bill Electrical 7^th), Chris Elliott (Worker’s Club  8^th & Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th ) and Mick Regterschot  Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th ). The drive and pitch prizes went to Russell Schmitt (Lee and Thomas 13^th ) and Mark Ryan Carpet Court 16^th ).

Glenn Baxter won last weeks event with 23 points for the 12 holes. Craig Brown took second place with 21 and included in the run down were Wayne Blay and Ken Wray both on 20.

Ladies

Division 1 of the stroke event saw Maxine Mclaughlin win the Gross on 104, Gail Kennerley took the nett prize on 76 and Rantna Rankmore was the putting winner on 32. For division 2 Lil Ryan won the gross with 121, the nett was won by Barbara Miller on 80 as well as the putting with 37.

The rundown included Ratna Rankmore 84 and Berly Gray 93.

Sunday Competition

Mick Gray and Kerry Bensley teamed up to win the Canadian Foursomes on Sunday with a nett 66 and 7/8. The rundown went to Chris Ryan and Ray Turner 67.5 and Tony McLaughlin and Luke Wray 71 and 7/8. Mick Gray also picked up the Mitre 10 jackpot hole, Ray Turner was nearest the pin on the Alan Bill Electrical 7^th, Russell Schmitt took the Worker’s Club 8^th and Glenn Baxter and Eddie Sivell won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13^th.

Luke Wray put it all together to score 29 points last week to win the $50 voucher from the Goulburn Soldiers Club for the 12 hole event. Terry Berg was unlucky to finish second on 27 with Eddie Hawkins on 25. On 24 were Tony Clewett and Craig Brown and Simon Jiang and Hayden Ward each had 23. Finishing off the rundown on22 were Ian Baxter, Mick Gordon and Steve Rigby.

The 3 stick event last week was won by Georgina Cook with 35 points for division 1 and Barbara Miller with 39 points for division 2. The ball rundown included Gail Kennerley 33 and Lil Ryan on 32. Maxine McLaughlin won the nearest the pin.

Sam McDonald scored a nett 65 to win the Stroke event and the B grade monthly medal. B Geoff Knight took C Grade on 66 and Tom James got a countback win for A Grade on 67. The rundown included Don Grimston, Chris Ryan and Glenn Baxter all on 67, Ian Baxter and Russell Schmitt 68, John Smith 69 and Ken Wray 71 on countback

The Jackpot was not won. The nearest the pin winners were John Smith (Alan Bill Electrical 7^th), Roly Wong (Worker’s Club 8^th), and Glenn Baxter (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th). Tom James (Lee and Thomas13^th) and John Smith (Carpet Court 16^th ) won the drive and pitches.

Ken Wray scraped home with a countback win over Tony Mclaughlin last week after both scored 26 points. Ian Baxter had 25, Alan McDonald 24, Sam Cockburn and Malcolm Young 23, Scott Sherer had 22 and on 21 on countback was Tony Clewett.

Ladies

Ratna Rankmore was the division 1 winner in the stroke minimum 9 hole competition last week with 27 2/3 nett. Division 2 winner with 29 nett was Barbara Miller. The ball rundown included Georgina Cook 30 and Beryl Gray 32, who also won the putting prizes with 32 and 37 putts respectively.

Sunday Competition

Sam McDonald won the stableford event on Sunday with 39 points and the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th hole. Also performing well on the day was Glenn Baxter with a hole in 1 on the Alan Bill Electrical 7^th on his way to 33 points.

Second place for the round went to Doug Stevens 37, while in the rundown were Luke Wray 36, Tom James 35 , Tony McLaughlin 35, Jeremy Harrison 35, Tom Heath 35, Ian Baxter 33, John Smith 32 and Roly Wong 32.

The Mystery Holes was won by Luke Wray on the Goulburn Solar 3^rd, Jeremy Ryan Plumbing 4^th and The Agency 15^th where he scored 9 points. Chris Elliott was best on the jackpot Mitre 10 hole. Other nearest the pins were won by Roly Wong (BC Training 6^th), Eddie Sivell (Worker’s Club 8^th) and Tom James (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th). The drive and pitch prizes went to Chris Lewis (Lee and Thomas 13^th) and Tom Heath (Carpet Court 16^th).

Sunday Feb 22 is the Stroke Monthly medal.

Wayne Blay had a countback win last week to take the Goulburn Soldiers Club $50 voucher with 25 points to just edge out Greg Maskill. Craig Brown and Sam Cosgrove both had 24, Don Grimston 23, Mick Gray and Glenn Baxter 22 and on 21 for the rundown were Phil Heath, Kim  Fahey, Tony McLaughlin and Simon Jiang.

Ladies

Tully Ladies played a 2 person ambrose last week with Beryl Gray and Ratna Rankmore the winners on nett 69. Lil Ryan and Georgina Cook were next best on 75. Nearest the pin went to Maxine Mclaughlin and Barbara Miller on the Alan Bill Electrical 7^th.

Brian Larkin took top honours last week after a countback over Graham Mansfield on 26 points each.  Phil Heath had 25 Eddie Hawkins 24, Tony Clewett 23, Maxine Mclaughlin and Craig Brown each had 22 to take the final balls in the rundown on countback.

Tully Ladies returned on Feb 2 and  started the  year with a stableford event with Ratna Rankmore taking division 1 with 42 points and beryl Gray the division 2 winner on 40. Nearest the pin was Lil Ryan while Gail Kennerley 34 and Barbara Miller 31 made the rundown.

It was tight at the top for the Stroke Monthly Medal for January held on Sunday as Tony Clewett took the overall win and the C grade medal with nett 65 over Alan McDonald who took second. Doug Stevens was next best on 67 then A grade winner Tom James 68 and Don Grimston 68. On 69 Simon Jiang earned the B Grade medal just pipping Russell Schmitt on countback then the rundown included Chris Ryan and Dean Horne each on 70 and Eddie Sivell on 72 on countback.

John Smith won the jackpot Mitre 10 hole and the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th. John Gray won both the nearest the pin on the BC Training 6th and the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16^th. Ian Peterson, Tom James and Chris Elliott won the nearest the pins for the Alan Bill Electrical, Worker’s Club and Goulburn Soldiers Club 7th, 8^th and 9^th respectively. Chris also won the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch on the 13^th.

Sunday Feb 8 is a 2 Person Ambrose. Thank you to the exceptional volunteers for all of their hard work over the recent extremely hot days at keeping the course in such good condition. Both the Southern Highland Veteran Golfers and ACT Monaro Pennants players had praise for the course.

Frances Miners was the runaway winner last week with 30 points and receives a visit from the handicapper. Next best on 24 were Ian Baxter, Stephen Apps and Jeff Edwards. On 23 was Russell Schmitt followed by Lindsay Sergeant and Don Grimston on 22 after a countback.

Tully Ladies return Feb 2 to start the 2026 year.

The Maximum 9 stableford event was won by Glenn Baxter with 27 points, along the way also picking up the jackpot on the Mitre 10 hole and the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th. Greg Granger was 2^nd on countback with 24 over Sam McDonald.

Ken Wray, John Smith and Russell Schmitt all had 23. On 22 were Sam Cosgrove also winning the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin 14^th, Ian Baxter taking the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch, Craig Hussey and Geoff Knight.

Other nearest the pins went to Alan McDonald (Alan Bill Electrical 7^th), and Tom James (Worker’s Club 8^th). Sam Cockburn won the drive and Pitch for the Carpet Court 16^th.

Sunday Feb 1^st Stroke Monthly Medal for Jan. All players are asked to tee off before 7.30 as Tully hosts the pennants for the day. No social play on Sunday Feb 1^st.

Tully also host the Southern Highland Veterans golfers this Thursday Jan 29 with a shotgun start at 8.30am . Sorry, no social play until after 3pm on this day.

The rest of the rundown included Lindsay Sergeant 22, Ian Baxter 22, Ken Wray 21, and Mick Gordon and France Miners each with 20 in a six card countback.

Sunday’s stableford event as well as the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th was won by Geoff Knight with 38 points. Luke Wray had 36 points for second as well as the Worker’s Club 8^th nearest the pin. The rundown saw Tom James score 35, Sam McDonald 34, Doug Stevens 34 Mac Fife 33, Andrew Balabka 32, Greg Granger 31 and Don Grimston 3.

Mystery holes went to Greg Granger with 7points on the Goulburn Solar 3rd, Worker’s Club 8th and D One Accounting 11^th  along with the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13^th .

The Mitre 10 Jackpot hole and the Alan Bill Electrical 7th went to Max Sakiasi while Sam McDonald got the BC Training 6^th and James Will won the Carpet Court 16^th drive and pitch.

Sunday Jan 25 is a Maximum 9 Stableford.  Stroke Monthly Medal for Jan on Feb 1^st.

Eddie Sivell and Glenn Baxter won the 4 ball best ball event on Sunday with 45 points. On 44 were the teams of Roly Wong and Chris Elliott along with Don Grimston and Ken Wray.

Max Sakiasi won the Mitre 10 jackpot hole , and nearest the pins went to  Alan McDonald (BC Training 6^th), Craig Hussey (Workers Club 8^th), Eddie Sivell (Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th) and John Smith (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th). The drive and pitch prizes went to Ken Wray (Lee and Thomas 13^th) and Tony McLaughlin (Carpet Court 16^th).

Sunday Jan 18 is a Stableford event with Mystery holes.

Tony McLaughlin fired on all cylinders last week to return 29 points for the 12 holes to just pip Greg Maskill on 28. Craig Hussey had 26, Glenn Baxter and Tony Clewett each 25, Alan McDonald 24, Ratna Rankmore and Russell Schmitt 23 and Maxine McLaughlin had 22 for the rundown.
