Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
John Blair fired up the course with 31 points for the 12 hole competition and put to rest any thoughts of his regular playing partner being better than him. In another high scoring week newcomer Nick Kearns returned 28 as did recent winner Peter Webster, both can expect the handicapping program to love them this week. The rundown went to 26 points with Chris Ryan, John Peterson, Joy Leary and Ratna Rankmore all playing to better than their handicaps to win a ball.
Sunday Competition
The much needed rain disrupted Sunday’s golf as the comp had to be called off.
Notices: Sunday March 4 Stableford. Tully Park will have Drummond Golf Professional James McMaster holding a junior golf coaching clinic from 9.30am to 11am Thursday April 19 with a sausage sizzle after. Cost $5/junior. Weekly coaching has recommenced on Saturdays from 8.30 to 10am. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Thanks to our tireless volunteers for their efforts at tidying up the course in recent weeks and looking after the clubhouse and gardens.
Juniors
The Tully Park/ Gold Creek team loaned a couple of players to the opposition on Sunday in the spirit of sportsmanship as Belconnen had players out competing at a Jack Newton event at Wagga Wagga. As it turned out the weather resulted in the games being cancelled. Good luck to the team in holding on to their tied second position next week at Yowani against current leaders, Gungahlin Lakes, in what will certainly be a tough match.
Ned Slater won the voucher for his 14 points for the junior stableford event on Saturday. He was closely followed on 13 by Nitika Chandola.
Ladies
Joy Leary scored 33 points to win last Monday’s stableford event for division 1 as well as taking the nearest the pin. Ruth Beveridge took the division 2 honours with 38.
