Tully Park Golf Club 10/3/2019

Sunday Competition

An excellent field of 75 players took to Tully Park Golf Club on  Sunday to celebrate 80 years of the club and its many volunteers who have contributed to the club it is today. Winners for the day’s 2 Person Ambrose were Tony Clewett and Peter Wheeldon on 56 nett for the mens division and Elsey Slater and Ray Turner for the mixed teams on 61.75.

Second place went to Luke McLean and Mitchel Clark for the mens on 58 and Rheannah Webb and Lachlan Bill on 65.12 for the mixed. The rundown included A Bill/ R Schmitt 60.75, A Meylan / Y Mani 61.5, M Hunter/ T James 61.5, N Bricknell/ N Slater 62, T Cooper/ S Cooper 62.5, C Ryan B Corby 63, and finished with the teams of T Kadzeila/ M Kadzeila, T Rosevear/ D Gray, J Harrison/ G Spence and D Davis and M McGeechan all on 63.5 for the mens division.  The mixed saw M Maher/ S Scott 66.75, J Slater/ J Slater 67.75 and B Howe/ M Howe 69.75.

Nearest the pin on the Jewel Builders 14th hole went to G Rankmore (men), M Maher (ladies) and E Slater (junior). On the Goulburn Soldiers Club inland 11th R Schmitt was closest.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Don Grimston showed everybody that he still has the touch, on his way to 31 points last week. Four shots behind were Joy Leary and Michael McPake both on 27, then Russell Schmitt 26, and Brett Cooper 25 in a rundown that went to a countback on 22.

Ladies

Heather Buchanan won the division 1 gross on 91 while Bev Grocott took the net on 72 and the putting on 28. For division 2 Ratna Rankmore was the gross winner on 95 and Beryl Howe the net winner on 73 and the putting on 31 . 

Multiquip Par 3

Jason Slater has stepped of the shadow of his children to win the Par 3 event for March on a countback for his 22 nett. Ned Slater and Michelle Sullivan also scored 22, Elsey Slater 23, Beryl Gray 23, Nathan Chandola 23 and Ross Stacey 24 made up the rundown.

The next junior pennants match is against Federal at Queanbeyan on March 17.

Sunday Competition

Russell Lieschke found his form on Sunday to return 40 points for the stableford event. Jeremy Harrison and Ryan Saville both made 38 with Don Grimston and Ken Wray each  on 37. Tony Clewett also made 37 and showed his accuracy with the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11th. Last week J Smith won the lucky number competition.

Last week saw back to back wins for Michael McPake after another countback win this time on 30 points over Anthony Cooper. Mark Berrisford again played well in the great conditions making 28 followed by Don Grimston 27, Ron Nunn, Ryan Wilson and Ned Slater on 26 in a rundown that went to 24.

Ladies

Last Monday the Ladies played a stableford event which saw Bev Grocott win division 1 on 33 points and June Spillane take division 2 on 31. Ladies tee off on Mondays at 9 so players are asked to be there around 8.30 so teams can be organised.

Sunday Competition

Ryan Wilson’s 61 nett was good enough to win the stroke event and the C Grade monthly Medal ahead of a strong Sunday field. Adam Boxsell took the A grade with net 68 and Eddie Hawkins made 64 for the B Grade. The rundown included Brett Cooper 62, Bill Brodie 63, Kerry Bensley 65, Tony Clewett 66, Eddie Sivell 67, Don Grimston 67 and Darrell Spence 68 on countback. Ken Wray was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole and the drive and pitch on Carpet Court’s 16th went to John Smith.

Michael McPake had a countback win over Mark Berrisford when both finished their respective rounds on 28 points last week. Ron Nunn also performed well in the 33 strong field with 27 points while Brian Larkin, Tony Clewett and Gordon Rankmore all made 26 in a rundown that went to 24 on countback.

Ladies

In returning for the Summer months the Tully Ladies played 12 holes for the warm day last Monday with a stroke , putting and minimum 6. Beryl Gray won the stroke/ minimum 6 event on 20.3  and Beryl Howe was the putting master on 20.

The Tully Park Gold Creek pennants team played Royal Canberra at Yowani on Sunday losing the match 4 to 2. Local players performed well with Noah Bricknell giving 9 shots to the lower handicapped Royal player and managed a respectable loss of 8 and 6 as they play off scratch. Rheannah Webb fought hard to come back from 5 down to finish down 3 and 1. Ned Slater managed another win 6 and 4. Their next match is against Federal at Queanbeyan on March 17.

Mark Berrisford’s 43 points stole the show for Sunday’s stableford event also winning the drive and pitch on Aaron’s trees 12th. Jeremy Harrison on 40 was the next best. Ryan Wilson made 39 and won the Mystery Holes for February with 9 points on the BC Training 6th, Chemdry 10th and Argyle Cleaning 17th holes. Bill Vesty 38, Tony Clewett 38 and Don Grimston 38 were all in the rundown.

Ryan Saville was back in the winners circle with 29 points for last weeks Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. In the biggest field for a long time Peter Webster and Greg Maskill both made 27 followed by Mark Berrisford and John Peterson both on 26. The rundown went down to 22 on a four card countback.

Ladies

Ladies competition returned from the Xmas break with Georgina Cook the division 1 winner for the stableford event with 35 points and the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th. Ratna Rankmore won division 2 with 30 points. The rundown went to 30.

Sunday’s Par event was won by Ron Wenban with +3. Chris Elliott and Bill Vesty both finished on +2, Ray Turner +1 and Chris Ryan and Peter Gurr were square for the rundown. Mary Weise won the nearest the pin on the Capital Country plumbing 7th and  the drive and pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st went begging.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Greg Maskill scraped in on a countback for the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week with 25 points. Eddie Hawkins also made 25 ahead of John Blair and Ron Nunn both on 24. Peter Webster made 23 in a rundown that went to 21 on countback.

Multiquip Par 3

Jenny Brodie was the Multiquip par 3 winner for February after a 4 way countback when she finished on 24 along with Ned Slater, Jason Slater and Letitia Webb. Included in the ball rundown were Mick Gordon, Ryan Wilson and Ryan Saville all on 25.

Tully Park Junior Golf

The junior pennants players played on the tough Gungahlin Lakes course on Sunday against Yowani.

The Tully Park juniors results were Rheannah Webb lost 6 & 5, Ned Slater was downed 2 &1 and Nathan Chandola fought hard to lose on the 18th hole 1 down. The team lost 5.5 to 0.5. The next match is on Feb 24th at Yowani against Royal Canberra.

Junior coaching with Pete Hayhoe is on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10.30am, cost $10/child.

Ken Wray scored 43 points for a win on Sunday in the stableford event. Don Grimston was next best on 42, Darrell Spence made 40, Eddie Hawkins 39 and Chris Elliott 39. Eddie Sivell won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and Tony Clewett won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th hole.

Kerry Bensley won on 29 points after a countback with Don Grimston. Bryan Norris was next best on 28 followed by Brian Larkin and Graham tasker both on 27. Ron Nunn and Ryan Wilson both made 26 in a rundown that went to 24 on countback.

Multiquip Par 3

The next Muiltiquip Par is on this Saturday Jan 12 with tee off from 7am to 12pm. This is a great competition for players of all levels to hone their skills and only costs $7 per player.

Tully Park Junior Golf

The junior pennants players played at Royal Canberra on Sunday against Gungahlin Lakes. The team went down 4 to 2 with local players Rheannah Webb losing 9 &8, Ned Slater won 4 & 3, Elsey Slater lost 6 & 5 and Noah Bricknell lost 7 &6. This Sunday they play at Gungahlin Lakes against Yowani.

Junior coaching with Pete Hayhoe is on Saturday mornings from 9am to 10.30am, cost $10/child.

Sunday Competition

Chris Ryan won the January Stroke and A grade Monthly Medal with a nett 63. Dave King won the C Grade with 64 and Don Grimston the B grade on 70. Included in the rundown were Gary Spence 65 (who also won the Gordon Hotel 11th drive and pitch), Ryan Wilson 66 and Chris Elliott 67.  Don Grimston also won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole.

Tony Clewett finally made it to the top of the heap to win last weeks $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher with 26 points. Bryan Norris made an eagle on the BioCleanse 10th and finished with 25, Alan McDonald 25, Michael McPake 24, Brian Larkin 23 and Don Grimston 23 (countback) made up the rundown.

Tully Park Junior golf

Junior golf coaching commences for 2019 this Saturday from 9am to 10.30 with golf professional Pete Hayhoe costing $10/junior. Clubs can be provided for juniors who do not have any but would like to have a go. Good luck to the Tully Park juniors of Rheannah Webb, Nathan Chandola, Ned and Elsey Slater who will play on Sunday in the first round of the ACT Monaro pennants.

Ryan Saville lost more from his handicap after 44 points in the stableford event on Sunday. Graham Tasker made 39, Eddie Hawkins 37, Ray Turner 37, Tony Clewett 36 and Chris Elliott 35 on countback made up the rundown. Tony Clewett also won the Mystery Holes for January on 8 points for the Priceline Pharmacy 2nd, C B Training 6th and Professionals Real Estate 15th. The Workers Club Nearest the pin was now won but Aaron’s trees drive and pitch went to Jeremy Harrison.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp

Ryan Saville had 27 points for the win last week in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event. Alan McDonald, Tony Clewett, Greg Maskill and Wayne James all had 25 points in a rundown that went to 22 on countback.

Sunday Competition

Ryan Wilson and Ryan Saville showed how to combine for a team effort as they returned 52 points for the 4 ball best ball event on Sunday. Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins had 48 in another good pairing followed by Don Grimston and Ken Wray 46, Chris Elliott and Phil Elliott 46, and Darryn Davis and Kayne Davis 45 for the rundown. Mitch Clark made an eagle on the Gordon Hotel 11 from behind the tree-line for an excellent recovery shot. Gary Spence won the nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club Club 14th hole Comp and Tracker Tahana won the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16th.

Tom James finished with 27 to take the $25 voucher last week beating Don Grimston 25, Alan McDonald 24, Alan Bill 24, Russell Lieschke 22, Wayne James 22 and Bryan Norris 21 in a 4 card countback.

Multiquip Par 3

The January Multiquip Par 3 was won in a close contest by Tom James with a nett 20 to just fend off Anbarasan Mitchell and Chris Webb both on 21. The next Par 3 is February 9.

Gary Spence showed the way with 41 points on Sunday for the stableford event. Shane Cooper and Trent Cooper both came in with 40 points each. Darryn Davis 39, Tom James 37, Chris Elliott, Tony Clewett, and Mark Berrisford all on 36 made up the rundown that went to a 6 card countback. Tony Clewett won the Capital Country Plumbing 7th nearest the pin and Trent Cooper won the Lee and Thomas drive and pitch on the 13th.

Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Graham Tasker made 30 points to take the Goulburn Soldiers Club $25 voucher with Tony Clewett on 29 close behind. Gary Spence made 27 Ron Nunn 26, Chris Ryan 25, Alan Bill 25 and Bryson Plumb 24 were in the rundown.

Multiquip Par 3

The first Multiquip Par 3 event for the year is on this Sat Jan 12. Tee from 7am to 12pm. Great fun for golfers of all levels. Handicaps given to newcomers to the sport. Cost is $7 per player
