Sunday Competition

Andrew Oliver led the way with a countback win for his 64 nett on Sunday in the stroke event. Tom James was unlucky after also scoring 64 but after recently welcoming his daughter into the world can probably cope with second place (congrats to the new mum and dad). Trent Cooper, Rob Kelly and Adam Boxsell each finished on 67, followed by Mac Fife, Chris Ryan, Alan McDonald, Wayne Minney and Ian Peterson, all on 68. The nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers club 14th was won by Ron Nunn and Adam Boxsell took the Gordon Hotel drive and pitch on the 11th. A great effort of 33 Starters for this week.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
Ian Ginn won on countback over the 12 holes for the Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher when he finished with 27 points last week over a field of 44. Unlucky were Trent Cooper and Tony Clewett both on 27, Gordon Rankmore 26, Greg Maskill, Angus Regterschot, Eddie Hawkins and John Blair all on 25. R Stacey, R Schmitt, J Slater all made 24, M Wilson, W James and R Nunn all had 23 and R Rankmore finished the rundown on countback with 22.

Ladies
Joy Leary took out division 1 in the stroke event with nett 69 and the putting with 29. Division 2 winner was Ruth Beveridge 74 on countback and she also took the putting with 33. The rundown included Heather Buchanan 73 and Ratna Rankmore 74.

Slater Drafting Par 3
A big field of 33 starters challenged for this month’s Slater Drafting Par 3 with Wayne Minney proving too good on the day with a nett 20 for the round. Josh Cooper was next best on 23 followed by J Kao 24, M Fife 25, A Swanson 25, R Stacey 25 and R Nunn 25. The next Par 3 is on Sat August 8.

Notices: Sunday July 19 Stableford. August 2 will see both rounds of the Foursome Championships- book early for carts on the day. The AGM is scheduled for August 16 so nominate for the committee or add agenda items from today. Big thanks to retiring President Shane Cooper for all of his help and sacrifice in recent years and getting the club into the strong position it now enjoys. Sunday competition
With 31 starters for the Sunday competition in a Stableford four ball best ball, the team of Wayne and Nicole Minney took the lead with 53 points. Following them was Anthony Cooper and Michael Welson on 48 points, Alan Bill and Andrew Oliver with 44 points, Chris Ryan and Peter Gurr also on 44 points, closely followed by Simon Jiang and Mark Berisford on 43 and the teams of Graham Tasker and Alan McDonald, Tom Health and Ray Turner, and Josh Cooper and Mac Fife all on 42 points. Wayne James took out the nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 5th hole and Shane Cooper won the drive and pitch on Aaron’s Trees 12th hole.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12-hole Competition
In the Goulburn Soldiers Club Midweek Competition there was 49 starters for the week. Michael Regterschot won with 27 points over the 16 person ball rundown. Starting the ball rundown was Simon Jiang, Stan Yeale, Ian Ginn, and Tom James all on 25 point. Following was Ian Ginn and Don Penney both on 24 points, Mark Berisford twice on 23 points as well as Andrew Oliver. Don Grimston, Jeanelle Slater, Alan McDonald and Greg Maskell all on 22 points, Scott Sterer followed with 21 points with Ratna Rankmore finishing the ball rundown with 21 points on a count back.
Ladies
The Ladies last week played in a stableford and nearest the pin. Rheannah Webb won Division 1 with 35 points. Ruth Beveridge won Division 2, also on 35 points. The ball run-down went to Di Schmitt on 34 points, Joy Leary on 33 points and Beryl Howl on 32 points. Joy Leary won the nearest the pin on the 14th hole. Rheannah Webb won the June Spillane Consistency Competition with 29 points.
Notices: Next Sunday the 12th of July is a Stroke event.
The par 3 event is on next Saturday the 11th of July from 8am to 12 noon.

Sunday competition
A field of 24 players competed in the monthly medal stroke competition with Ian Peterson taking out the A-grade and overall winner of the day with a nett 66. Tom James took the B-grade lead on a nett 69. C-grade was taken out by Grahame Tasker with a nett of 74. The ball rundown went to Tom Heath on 68, and Lachlan Bill, Tom James, Tony Grimston all on 69. Lachlan Bill won the Carpet Court 16th Drive and Pitch.
Goulburn Soldiers Club 12-hole Competition
This weeks competition had a field of 44 players with Simon Jiang taking the lead with 28 points, closely following was Peter Webster and Josh Cooper on 27, Max Sakiasi had 26, followed by Ron Nunn, Jeremy Ryan, Russell Schmitt and Trent Cooper all on 25 in the count back that went down to 21 points on a countback.
Ladies
The ladies competed in a stableford and nearest the pin competition last Monday. Rheannah Webb took out the Division 1 with 36 points, closely followed by Beryl Gray who took out the Division 2 with 35 points. The nearest the pin on the second hole was won by Beryl Howe. The ball run down went to Ratna Rankmore on 31 points, Julia Scamperle on 29 and Di Schmitt on 28 points.

Sunday Competition

Chris Webb backed up last week’s ambrose form with a stableford win on Sunday with 39 points. Newcomer Tim Elliott had his first time in the rundown with 38 and took home the Mystery Holes for June with 8 points on the Chem-Dry 10th, The Agency 15th and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th holes. The rundown also included Mac Fife and Lachlan Bill both on 37, then Alan Bill and Jeremy Harrison both on 36 after a 4 card countback. Lachlan Bill won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th and Chris Ryan won the nearest the pin on the Worker’s Club 8th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Simon Jiang was back in the winners circle last week with 28 points for the 12 hole competition over a field of 39 players. Trent Cooper and newcomer to competitions Chris Arnold both made 25 points to head up the rundown that included Stan Geale 24, Eddie Hawkins 24, Josh Cooper 23, Greg Maskill 22 and Mark Berrisford 22. Following up were Tony Clewett 22, Ron Nunn 22, Scott Sherer 21, Alan McDonald 21 and Don Pennay 20 after a 6 card countback. This competition is run with the great support of the Goulburn Soldiers Club.

Ladies

The Ladies played a championship round last week that saw Rheannah Webb the division 1 winner with a nett score of 70 and Beryl Howe winning division 2 with 78. The rundown included Ratna Rankmore 71, Heather Buchanan 75 and Di Schmitt 79. The putting for the day was won by Di Schmitt (D1) with 28 and Ruth Beveridge (D2) with 32 after a countback.

Juniors

Tully Park Juniors will return to coaching sessions from 8.30am August 1. Juniors can play in the next Slater Drafting Par 3 on July 11.

Sunday Competition

A field of 64 players competed in a 4 person ambrose on Sunday with the winning team of Dejan Nedanoski, Jordan Lees, Corey Manning and Dean Gray on a nett of 51.25. Chris Webb, Rheannah Webb, Eddie Sivell and golf newcomer Andrew Oliver were second on 52.5. Trent Cooper, Shane Cooper, Anthony Cooper and Mac Fife were next on 56.5, followed by Chris Ryan, Jeremy Ryan , Tom Heath and Peter Gurr on 56.75, then Gordon Rankmore, Peter Webster, Ratna Rankmore and Gordon Rankmore on 57.75 then Michael Regterschot, Angus Regterschot, Josh Cooper and Tim Elliott on 58.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Michael Regterschot won his first Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition with 28 points last week ahead of a strong field that included Trent Cooper and Jeremy Ryan both on 26 and Russell Schmitt o 25. On 24 were Brian Larkin and Eddie Hawkins followed by Gordon Rankmore, Max Sakiasi and Stan Geale all on 23 in a rundown that went to 21 on countback.

Ladies

June Spillane took division 1 honours and Ruth Beveridge took div 2 last Monday after both finished their rounds with 32 points in the ladies stableford event. On 30 points were Di Schmitt and Ratna Rankmore along with Julia Scamperle who also won the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th.

Slater Drafting Par 3

It has been a while coming for Cooper Cargill but all of his recent practice has paid off as he carded a nett 19 for the June Par 3 event. Making the rundown were Ratna Rankmore 23, Rheannah Webb 23, Beryl Howe 24 and Beryl Gray 24.

Sunday Competition

Spurred on by a countback loss in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition Ryan Wilson made sure of a win with 43 points on Sunday. Next best was Russell Schmitt on 39 followed by Ray Turner 37. On 36 were Mac Fife, Ryan Saville and Eddie Sivell, ahead of Royce Dockett 33 and Chris Ryan on 32 on countback.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Chris Ryan crept home over Ryan Wilson after a countback on 26 points last week. In his first competition Dejan Nedanoski proved the one to watch scoring 25 points taking home the eagles nest for his 2 on the Aaron’s trees 12th hole. Tom James, Garry Handley and Gordon Rankmore also all finished on 25 followed by Dean Kennedy, Don Pennay and Jeremy Ryan all on 24. Graham Tasker 23, Malcolm Young 22 and Ron Nunn 22 made up the rundown after a countback.

Ladies

Rheannah Webb took the A Grade medal for her nett 70 last week with Ruth Beveridge taking the B grade on 74. Rheannah also won the div 1 putting with 28 while Nicole Minney took div 2 with 31. The rundown included Heather Buchanan 72, Nicole Minney 75, Julia Scamperle 77 and Beryl Gray 77.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The June par 3 event is on Saturday June 13 with tee off from 7.30am to 12pm. The event is open to anyone who likes to swing a golf club and the cost is only $7/person.

Sunday Competition

Lachlan Bill rose to the occasion for the monthly medal for May to card the best round at the club in many a year with a 6 under round of 62 off the stick to claim the A Grade medal. Tom James took the B Grade with 65 and Eddie Hawkins had a countback win on 69 for the C Grade. In the rundown were Russell Schmitt 65, Ken Wray 67, Eddie Sivell 67, Tom Heath 68, followed by Ryan Saville, Ryan Wilson, Simon Jiang and Chris Ryan all on 69 and Phil Elliott on 70.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

While visiting local family members Angela Deacon managed to squeeze in a round of golf scoring 25 points and taking the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher on a countback over the field of 43. Included in the rundown were Don Grimston and Chris Ryan both on 25, Eddie Hawkins 24, Tony Clewett and Lachlan Bill 23, and on 22 Gordon Rankmore, Lindsay Sergeant, Malcolm Young and Alan McDonald. Completing the rundown on countback were Don Pennay, Brian Larkin, Di Schmitt and first time competitor Max Sakaisi all on 21.

Ladies

The Tully Ladies played a stableford event on Monday and in a tough scoring round the division winners were Di Schmitt for div 1 and Beryl Gray in div 2 both with 29 points. June Spillane and Ruth Beveridge both made 28 and Beryl Gray was nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole.

Sunday Competition

Alan Bill won the stableford event on Sunday with a faultless round of 40 points leaving the field behind. On 35 were Chris Ryan, Tom Heath, Russell Schmitt, John Smith, Ryan Saville, Ray Turner and Eddie Sivell. The rundown went to 33 on countback with Anthony Cooper, Mac Fife and Lachlan Bill receiving balls.

Mystery holes on the Merino Fuels 3rd, Argyle Cleaning 17th and Chris Ryan Plumbing 18th was won by Trent Cooper with 7 points.

Change to the program: A 4 person Ambrose will now be played on Sunday June 14 (in place of the stroke event) so organise your teams. Cost is $10/ player with tee off between 7am and 8.30am. Open to all G.A handicapped players.

Ron Nunn and Malcolm Young both finished with 26 points each followed by Alan Bill, Wayne Brown, Nicole Minney, Sam McDonald and Di Schmitt all on 25. Alan McDonald, John Blair, Eddie Sivell and Rob Scott had 24 in a rundown that went to 23 on countback.

Ladies

Division 1 in the stroke event last Monday was won by Di Schmitt with nett 67 while division 2 was won by the in form Beryl Gray with 72. The rundown included Rheannah Webb 73, June Spillane 74, Heather Buchanan 74 and Ratna Rankmore 75. Putting was won for the two divisions by June Spillane and Beryl Gray both with 30.

The team of Alan and Lachlan Bill won the 4 ball stableford aggregate on Sunday after a countback with Tom Heath and Chris Ryan when both teams finished on 73 points. Trent Cooper and Sam McDonald finished with 71, Ryan Saville and Ryan Wilson 70 followed by Garry Handley and Darrell Spence 68, Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins 66 and Wayne and Nicole Minney 65.

Please note that the 12 hole comp is back to white markers for another year.

Gordon Rankmore managed to top the field of 47 on a countback over Tony Clewett last week after both finished on 28 points. Malcolm Young and Beryl Gray both scored 27 while Mick Gordon and Ron Wenban both had 26. Ron Nunn, Simon Jiang and Ryan Wilson each had 24 in a rundown that finished on 23.

Minor Championships

Lachlan Bill with 141 has taken out the A Grade Gross title for the 2020 minor Championships while Rheannah Webb has taken out the Ladies Gross title on 194. B Grade was won, after a countback, by Sam McDonald on 166 and the C Grade winner was Mac Fife on 170. Nett winners for each grade were Ray Turner (A grade) on 136, Simon Jiang (B) on 133.3, Wayne Minney (C )on 121.3 and Beryl Gray (Ladies) on 134.6.

Round 3 nett winners were Beryl Gray (ladies) on 41.6, Ken Wray Div 1 on 42.6 and Wayne Minney div 2 on 38.3.

Heather Buchanan scored 36 points in the Ladies stableford event last Monday with Beryl Howe next best on 32. Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th was Ruth Beveridge who was also in the rundown with 31 followed by ratna rankmore 30, Beryl Gray 28 and Nicole Minney 25.

Wayne Minney had a return to old form as he carded a nett 60 to win the stroke event on Sunday. Mac Fife came in with 62 followed by Trent Cooper, Anthony Cooper and Sam McDonald all on 67. John Smith had 70 while Tom James, Ryan Wilson and Ken Wray scored 71, Ray Turner, Tom Heath and Mark Berrisford each made 72 and Phil Elliott had 73 on countback for the rundown.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Beryl Gray swept the field of 48 aside to win with 25 points last week. Ron Nunn hotly contested the top honours but fell short by 1 to score 24. John Smith made 23 ahead of Mark Berrisford, Mick Gordon, Wayne James, Ian Ginn, and Stephen Rigby all on 22. Jeremy Ryan had a return to competition with 21 followed by Alan McDonald on 20 with the rundown going to 19 on countback.

Minor Championships

After 2 rounds of the minor championships it is Lachlan Bill leading the A grade gross on 97 with Chris Elliott 108 leading the B, Mac Fife and Wayne Minney both on 117 tied for the lead in C grade and Julia Scamperle 112 for the ladies division. Nett leaders in each division are Ray Turner 90.67, Chris Elliott 88.67, Wayne Minney 83, and Beryl Gray 93. The round 2 winners were (A) Ray Turner 45.3, (B) Wayne Minney 41.3 and (Ladies) Beryl Gray 43.67. Round 3 concludes the minors this Thursday afternoon so from Friday all 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Club players are back to the white markers.

Par 3

Nicole Minney took the honours after a countback win over Beryl Gray when both finished on nett 23. Chris Webb, Ratna Rankmore, Ross Stacey and Jeanelle Slater all featured in the rundown on 25 on countback.

Ladies

Last Monday the ladies played a stroke event with putting prizes and Julia Scamperle won div 1 on countback over Rheannah Webb when both made 76 nett. Di Schmitt won div 2 with 83 nett. Putting winners were Julia Scamperle 29 and Di Schmitt 31. The rundown included Rheannah Webb 76, Heather Buchanan 79, Joy Leary 83 and Ratna Rankmore 83.
