Tully Park News 15-03-2015

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a 2 person ambrose taken out by the young gun duo of Trent Cooper and John Gegg with nett 59. Glen Wharton and Shane O’Donnall came a close second with 59 and a half with Grahame Cave/ Darrell Spence and Tim James/ Marty Hunter shooting 59 3/4 along with Marty Weise and Mick Harris 60 rounding out the ball run down. The social competition saw Dave Gray and Greg Slater take the goods with 64. The nearest to the pins were on the Tully Park 7th Peter Courts and on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Trent Cooper. Next Sunday is Canadian Foresomes Competition.

The greens were cored during the week and the volunteers who came down on Saturday to spread the sand did a great job and the committee appreciates your time and efforts.  If anybody would like to help around the course speak to a committee member and they will happily find something to suit your availability and skill set.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by Chris Webb with a cracking 29 points to edge out Mick Hyland and Tony Clewett on 28 points. Kevin Peterson 27 and Matthew Hyland 25 all collected a ball for their efforts. Helen Carne also picked up a ball for her efforts with 15 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stableford multiplier and was taken out by the rampaging duo of Marty Weise and Mick Gray with the pair putting in an impressive performance clocking up 86 points. The formidable Mills/Heath combination scored 84 points along with the Gray/McNair team to collect a ball in the run down. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Trent Cooper and on the Gouburn Soldiers Club 14th Ross Stacey. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a 2 person ambrose with social players welcome.

The club would like to thank all the volunteers that have been keeping the club running. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed. With a special thanks to Lee and Thomas for the work they did during the week.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was won for the second week in a row by Brian Larkin with 28 points. John Gegg 27, Wally Thorn 25 and Bryson Plumb 25 rounded out the ball run down. Alma Harvison collected a ball with 4 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

 

Tully Park Early Birds Pennants 

The team hosted Murrumbidgee this week for the 6th and final round of their pennants competition. With a 3 point lead over the rest of their group and only 2 points on the line for a win a finals berth was already secured. The boys tee’d it up looking to build on their form for the upcoming playoff matches and won in convincing style 6-0, giving a confidence boost for the semi finals to be played in two weeks time.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stableford and was taken out by Mick Harris with 42 points on a count back over Ross Stacey. The ball rundown saw Anthony Cooper, Gary Spence, Chris Webb and Col Eggins all grab a rock. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Col Eggins and on the Gouburn Soldiers Club 8th Eddie Hawkins. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a 4 ball best ball multiplier.

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken won by Brian Larkin with 26 points in a count back over Don Grimston and Joy Leary. Trent Cooper 24 and Ross Stacey 23 picked up balls in the run down. Hellen Carne grabbed a ball with 7. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

The team hosted Queanbeyan this week for round 5 of their pennants competition. They played some great golf and came away with a 5-1 win . The team are back at home this week for the final round against Murrumbidgee looking to continue their good form and book a finals position. Best of Luck.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was the Monthly Medal stroke and was taken out by Col Eggins with a nett 61 to also win A Grade. Shane Jervis 63 and Josh Cooper 64 won B and C Grade respectively. The ball rundown saw Ross Stacey 64, Darrel Spence 66, John Gegg 67, Anthony Cooper 68 and Tony Clewett 68 all grab a rock. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Adam Boxsell and on the Gouburn Soldiers Club 14th Russ Schmitt. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a stableford.

Tully Park Early Birds Pennants 

The boys went down to Gold Creek on Sunday for round 4 of their pennants competition. They came away with a 3-3 draw with Gary Spence, Marty Hunter and Tim James all getting up in their matches. The team are back at home this week for round 5 against Queanbeyan looking to continue their good form with a record of 15-9 and the last two rounds at home the boys are in good shape to make a tilt at defending their title. This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was an American Foresomes with Shane Cooper and Col Eggins taking out the day with 62 3/8. Roy McNair and Mick Gray 62 1/2, Trent Cooper and John Gegg 63 1/8 and John Smith with Chris Elliott 66 7/8 all claiming a ball in the run down. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th and the Tully Park 7th went to Trent Cooper with the nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Workers Club 6th going to Chris Elliott. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a 2 Person Ambrose so grab a partner and come down for a hit social players are welcome.

Tully Park Early Birds Pennants 

The boys got their title defense off to a winning start at home last week with a 4.5 to 1.5 win over the team from Gold Creek. This week the boys traveled down to face Murrumbidgee for Round 2 hoping to continue their winning run. Marty Hunter, Tim James, Shane Jervis and Russ Lieschke all got up in their matches with Adam Boxsell squaring his match and Gary Spence going down in a close one.  The results gave Tully a 4.5 to 1.5 win, well done guys. The team heads down to Queanbeyan next Sunday for Round 3. Good luck fellas.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stableford with Brian Mills taking out the win with 43 points to smash the nearest competitors by 6 points. Tony Clewett, Josh Cooper, John Smith, Col Eggins and Tom Heath decided to all have 37 Shane Cooper, Trent Cooper and Mick Harris with 36 all claimed a ball in the run down. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th was Ken Wray. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is an American Foresomes so grab a partner and come down for a hit.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was the Monthly Medal stroke and was taken out by club young gun Trent Cooper with a nett 63 to also win A Grade. Russ Schmitt 67 and Eddie Hawkins 67 won B and C Grade respectively. The ball rundown saw Russ Lieschke 65, Ray Turner and Col Eggins with 70 grab a rock. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th went to Adam Boxsell and the Drive and Pitch on the Kev’s Meats 12th went to Lachlan Bill. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a stableford.
