Tully Park Golf 29/08/2021

Annual General Meeting postponed to September 12 at 1pm

Sunday Competition

Trent Cooper had 66 off the stick for a nett 65 to take out the A Grade monthly Medal for August and the stroke event on Sunday. James Will 66 won B Grade and Don Grimston took C grade with 67. In the rundown were Chris Ryan 67, Mick Regterschot 68, Ray Turner 69, Tom Heath Paul Wray and Ron Nunn all on 70 and Jon Gegg, Ryan Wilson and Alan McDonald all on 71. Tim Elliott was nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole and Ray Turner won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Andrew Balabka continued improvements to his game returning 28 points last week to beat Mick Regterschot on a countback. Also in the rundown were Eddie Hawkins 26, Tim Elliott 25, Russell Lieschke  and Brandon Courts 24 and golfing newcomer Helena Regterschot on 20 after a countback.

The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Comp commences Friday September 10 and runs for 6 weeks. The best round for a player each week in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp  is included and the best 4 of these over the 6 weeks count towards the prize vouchers of $100 (with thanks to Val Allen), $60 and $30.

Ladies

Georgina Cook’s 74 nett was enough to take division 1 for the ladies Championship round last week with Beryl Gray taking division 2 on 68. Elsey Slater 70, June Spillane 72 and Ruth Beveridge 74 were all in the rundown. Putting divisions were won by Maxine McLaughlin 28 and Elsey Slater 31 for the two divisions.

Notices:  September 5 Stableford. Championships are Oct 23/24 and 30/31 and to qualify for the overall titles you need at least 10 handicapped rounds over the 12 months to Oct 23.

Sunday Competition

Bill Reid took charge in a strong field of 35 to score 41 points for the stableford win on Sunday. Don Grimston took second on countback over Gus Regterschot when both finished on 40 points. Gus also took the eagles nest for his 2 on the Aaron’s Trees 12th hole. Tim Elliott had 39, Russell Lieschke and Kerry Bensley both had 38. Michael Wilson scored 37 followed by Trent Cooper 35, Brandon Courts, Mick Gray, Alan McDonald and Ron Nunn all on 34. Mac Fife took the Capital Country Plumbing nearest the pin on the 7th and Tom James won the drive and pitch on Ginny’s Building and Carpentry 1st. Ron Nunn won the lucky number draw.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Mick Regterschot took the Goulburn Soldiers Club $25 voucher for his 28 points last week. Tim Elliott scored 26 as did Michael Brown with James Will on 25. Alan McDonald 24, Nathaniel Ryan ad Don Grimston 23, Josh Watling 22 and Trent Cooper 22 on countback made up the rundown.

Sunday Competition

A lockdown depleted field left 23 starters to play in the stableford event on Sunday and it was Michael Wilson who took the honours with 38 points. Max Sakiasi and Tim Elliott both had 37 followed by Russell Lieschke and Ian Peterson both on 35, Andrew balabka 34Ray Turner 33 and on countback Mark Berrisford 32.

Andrew Balabka won the drive and pitch for the Aaron’s trees hole and Tom James managed the right three holes to shine for the mystery holes on the Priceline Pharmacy, Merino Fuels and Chris Ryan Plumbing holes where he had 8 points on countback.

With 42 starters last week it was Russell Lieschke who came up trumps after a 4 card countback on 26 points. Mark Berrisford, Eddie Hawkins and Mick Regterschot were all unlucky to have caught Russell on his game. On 25 was John Blair followed by Jon Gegg and Mac Fife on 24. Included in the rundown were Joy Leary 23, John Peterson 22 and new member Robyn Coyle on 21. The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Comp commences September 10 and runs for 6 weeks. Joy Leary had a welcome return to golf with 35 points to win division 1 last week. June Spillane took div 2 also with 35 points. The rundown included Beryl Gray 32, Beryl Howe 30, and Maxine McLaughlin 30. Georgina Cook won the nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 5th

Par 3

The August round of the Slater Drafting Par 3 was won by Graham Mansfield in the Adult division with 24 on a countback and golfing newcomer Amelia Wilson won the junior division on 23. In the rundown were Damien O’Brien 24, AlanMcDonald 25, Ron Nunn 25, Elsey Slater 25, and Angus O’Brien 26

Tee off is 7.30 for walkers and after them for carts (book carts early through Goulburn Golf Club if you need them). Sunday Competition

Trent Cooper and Brandon Courts were a formidable team returning 58.5 for the 2 person ambrose on Sunday. Of the 18 teams Mick Regterschot and James Will were just two back on 60.5 for next best. The rundown included the teams of Sam McDonald/ Ryan Wilson 61, Ray Turner/ Trent Cooper 61.75, Michael Wilson/ Eddie Sivell 65.25, and Eddie Hawkins/ Russell Lieschke 65.5.

Nearest the pins on the Mitre 10 and Goulburn Soldiers Club holes went to Ryan Wilson and Darrell Spence respectively.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Graham Tasker took top honours after a countback over Andrew Balabka as both returned 24 points last week. In a tight field Elsey Slater, Ron Nunn , Mark Berrisford, Russell Lieschke Chris Deegan and John Blair all had 23. Bryan Norris made 22 and to finish off the rundown Angus Regterschot scored 21.

Ladies

Julia Scamperle won the ladies stroke event last week with nett 76 on the inland course.  Beryl Gray had 78 and Georgina Cook was next on 80 . The putting prize for the day went to June Spillane on 32 after a countback.

Juniors

The August round of the Slater Drafting Par 3 is on Saturday August 14th with tee off 7.30am to 11am.  All are welcome to play this great way to start adults and children off at golf.

Sunday Competition

It was a tight competition, a good field of 30 starters and a damp day to play for the Foursomes Championships on Sunday. Chris Ryan and Ray Turner are the 2021 Foursomes Gross winners after a countback win on 168 and Ryan Wilson and Sam McDonald combined well for the overall nett win on 140.

Round 1 winners were Sam McDonald and Ryan Wilson with nett 66 followed by Jeremy Harrison/ Phil Elliott 69.5, Russ Schmitt / Alan Bill 72.5, Chris Ryan/ Ray Turner 76 and Josh Ryrie/ Mitch Cook 76. Gross leaders for the round were Jeremy Harrison / Phil Elliott on 82.

Round 2 winners were Russ Schmitt and Alan Bill 68.5, followed by Tim Elliott/ Andrew Balabka 71.5, Chris Ryan/ Ray Turner 72, Mick Regterschot/ Jon Gegg 72.5 and  Eddie Hawkins/ Russell Lieschke 73.5.

Thank you to the greenkeeper Luke and the volunteers for the great course and food on the day.

Nearest the pins for the day were won by Tom James (Jewell Builders 14th) Tim Elliott (Goulburn Soldiers Club 11th) and Chris Ryan (Jewell Builders 14th).

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Bill Reid made it in for a win with 25 points last week just ahead of Brandon Courts on 24. There was a run on 23 points by Tony Clewett, Chris Ryan, Russell Schmitt, Alan McDonald and Peter Gurr.

Ladies

31 points saw Beryl Howe storm home in wintery conditions last week in the stableford event with daylight back to Maxine McLaughlin 24, Beryl Gray 23 and Ruth Beveridge 21.

Juniors

Tully juniors return to coaching from this Saturday August 7 at 8.30am. The August Slater Drafting Par 3 is on August 15th with tee off 7.30am to 11am.

Mick Regterschot scooped the pool in cold and windy conditions with a nett 68 to win the B grade monthly medal and the stroke event on Sunday. James Will was next best with 69 and Tom James brought home a 70. Bill Reid took the C grade medal with his 72 and Russ Schmitt won A grade with 75 and won the drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel hole. Alan Bill was nearest the pin on the Jewell Builder hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Mac Fife made his way to the top of the list last week with 26 points just edging out Josh Cooper on 25. On 23 were Wayne James, Di Schmitt and Rusell Lieschke followed by Don Grimston and Trent Cooper both on 22.

Ladies

Maxine McLaughlin scored a countback win for division 1 last week with 74 nett as well as the putting with 29. Beryl Howe took division 2 on 77 nett and June Spillane won their putting on 29. The rundown included Heather Buchanan 74, Di Schmitt 78 and Beryl Gray 78.

Trent Cooper and Jon Gegg teamed up for the tough event of the stableford multiplier to great effect coming in with 75 points. Mick Regterschot and Andrew Balabka were next best on 72 before a large gap to Chris Ryan and Tom Heath in third. Josh Cooper/ Tim Elliott, Bill Reid/ Grant Mooney, and Dylan Maddock/ James Will all came in with 56.

Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club hole was Ron Nunn and the drive and pitch went to Jon Gegg on Aaron’s trees hole. Dylan Maddock took this month’s Mystery Holes for his 8 points on the Merino Fuel, Mitre 10 and The Agency holes.

Backing up his recent good form Trent Cooper made eagle on the Aaron’s trees 12th to win on countback with 25 points last week over Brandon Courts. Alan McDonald had 24 and Mac Fife 23 followed by Eddie Hawkins and Lindsay Sergeant both on 22.Chris Ryan rounded out the rundown with 21 in a 5 card countback. There were 22 starters.

Ladies

Di Schmitt scored 24 for her best 9 holes in the Max 9 stableford last week. Ratna Rankmore and Beryl Howe both made 22 for the rundown.

Sunday Competition

Tom James had better check his handicap next time after a nett 64 in the stroke event on Sunday. Trent Cooper was next best on 65 followed by Jeremy Harrison 66. Mark Berrisford came in with 67 before Jeremy Ryan, Eddie Hawkins, Russell Schmitt, Mick Regtertschot, Bill Reid, Russell Lieschke and Josh Cooper, all on 70.  Max Sakiasi won the workers Club nearest the pin on the 8th and Trent Cooper took the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13th. There were 31 starters.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Trent Cooper has taken out last weeks 12hole stableford comp with 25 points after countback with Max Sakiasi and Bryan Norris. On 24 was Nathaniel Ryan , on 23 Russell Lieschke and Russell Sxhmitt then on 22 Bryson Plumb, John Blair and Michael Brown after a countback. There were 29 starters.

Ladies

Julia Scamperle was the stroke winner last week with nett 79 and only 31 putts. Beryl Gray was next best on 81.

K &N Peterson Matchplay

After 6 tough rounds, congratulations go to Jeremy Harrison who has won the first K & N Peterson Matchplay event with 2 and 1 win over Max Sakiasi.

Slater Drafting Par 3

A big field of 29 starters saw Kody Jones take out the juniors section with nett 19 followed closely by Flynn Wilson on 20. For the adults Beryl Gray took top honours on 22 with Beryl Howe not far back on 24. On 25 were Ross Stacy and Mac Fife then Mick Regterschot on 26. On 27 Jarrod Stacey then Garth Stacey on 28 and Bryan Norris on 29 on countback made up the rundown.

Sunday Competition

In his first round of competition golf Andrew Balabka teamed up with Chris Arnold as a formidable team to score 47 points in the 4 Ball best ball on Sunday. Next best on 42 were the teams of Tom James/ Bill Reid, Chris Ryan/ Peter Gurr, and Michael Wilson/ Ken Wray. Next best were Jeremy Harrison and Ian Peterson on 40. Trent Cooper took the nearest the pin on the Jewell Builders hole and Russell Lieschke was best placed for the drive and pitch on Ginny’s Building and Carpentry hole.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole

Josh Cooper’s 26 points scored him the win for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event just pipping Ian Ginn on 25.  Trent Cooper made 23, Elsey Slater Jason Slater and Russell Lieschke each had 22 followed by Russ Schmitt, Brandon Courts and Adam Bruckshaw made up the rundown on 21 on countback.

Ladies

Di Schmitt won the stableford event with 34 points last week after a countback with Beryl Grey . Heather Buchanan won the nearest the pin on the Mitre 10 hole.

K &N Peterson Matchplay

Jeremy Harrison has moved to the grand final of the matchplay and will play the best of Max Sakiasi and Elsey Slater.

Slater Drafting Par 3

The July Slater drafting Par 3 is on this Saturday with tee off 7.30 to 11am. Cost $7/player and all golf levels are welcome.

Sunday Competition

Gary Spence had a countback win for the stroke monthly medal on Sunday over Josh Cooper after both finished on 70 nett. Gary took the A grade while Josh was the B grade winner. Don Grimston showed age is no barrier as he took the C grade with nett 74. In the rundown for the day were: Phil Elliott 72, Jeremy Ryan 73, Jeremy Harrison 74, Ray Turner 74, Lachlan Bill 75 and on 77 Mac Fife and Russ Schmitt. Lachlan Bill won the Gordon Hotel drive and pitch while Russell Lieschke took the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin.

Tim Elliott was back in the winners circle last week for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp with 25 points followed by Mick Regterschot on 24. On 23 were Alan McDonald, Tony Clewitt and Russell Lieschke then  Russell Schmitt 22, then Malcolm Young, Eddie Hawkins and Trent Cooper all on 21.

Ladies

The Semi-finalists have been determined with Elsey Slater due to play Max Sakiasi and Jeremy Harrison to play Ian Peterson. There are a few weeks to get the games organised but sooner is better than too late.
