Sunday Competition

The 4 ball multiplier held on Sunday yielded some good high scores with Tony Clewett and Darrell Spence finishing with a superb 83 points for their efforts. Tony was also lucky enough to have been a dual partner for Kerry Bensley and managed 82 for that team up. Don Grimston and Ken Wray  plodded along for a 78 while Eddie Sivell and Brian Mills made 74 to complete the rundown. Nearest the pins went to Don Grimston (5th hole – Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10), Trent Cooper (7th RSM) and Gary Spence (8th – Workers Club). Tracker Tahana was the individual winner for the day on 43 points.  Trophies were by Russell Schmitt and Tully Park Golf Club.

Goulburn Soldiers Club event

Eddie Hawkins has been making the most of his recent good form with 28 points in last weeks 12 hole stableford event. Hot on his heels were Ron Nunn and Russell Schmitt, who both scored 27, John Blair and Don Grimston made 24 and Joy Leary finished the rundown on 23 after a 5 card countback.

Notices: Good luck to the mens B grade h’cap pennants team who begin their title defence next Sunday at Gungahlin Lakes. Our juniors kick off their title defence Feb 5 also at Gungahlin and will be looking to get off to a good start with Rheannah Webb’s latest form of winning the Ladies division of the Gold Creek stableford on Jan 11 and coming 2nd in the junior girls at Federal last week. A reminder that trophy voucher donations for the Sunday and Par 3 events will be greatly welcomed just see Joy or Russ at the clubhouse to help our club.

Sunday Competition – 2 Person Ambrose

Shane Wilson and Daniel Cooper made a formidable team to card a nett 58 at the Tully Park Golf Club on Sunday to steal a win from Josh Cooper and Ray Turner in a countback. Also in the rundown were Gary Spence and Tracker Tahana on 60.5 and Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins on 61 in a countback. The 5th hole nearest the pin for Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 was won by Russell Lieschke while Col Eggins took the RSM 7th and Trent Cooper the Workers Club 8th.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Competition

Capping off a winning week from last Sunday Don Grimston showed up his visiting family with a 27 point round for the 12 hole competition. Jon Gegg and John Peterson were both on his heels with 26 apiece with Tony Grimston, Tony Clewett and Ron Nunn all making 24 for the rundown.

At only 12 holes this comp is a great way to play golf competitions in the summer months and fill in an afternoon after work.

Notices: Sunday Jan 22 Stableford multiplier. A huge thanks to all volunteers who showed up on Saturday for our working bee. A big success with some major work carried out over the course during the rather warm day. We can only hope all visitors and members can appreciate the time and effort you all gave to keeping this looking and playing so good.

Sunday Competition

Don Grimston proved the best of a strong bunch on Sunday as he carded a nett 62 to win the Sunday stroke competition. Hot on his heels in the rundown were Shane Cooper (63), Chris Elliott (64), Trent Cooper (65) and after a four card countback  Ian Peterson (66).  Alan Bill was nearest the pins on his favourite hole, the 5th sponsored by Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10, while Eddie Sivell took the RSM 7th and Tracker Tahana won the Workers Club 8th. The trophy for the day was provided by M Weise.

Goulburn Soldiers Weekly Competition

Eddie Hawkins was back in the winners circle with 26 points last week to take out the $25 voucher from Goulburn Soldiers Club. Brian Larkin was unlucky on countback with his 26 while Russell Schmitt made 25 in a countback that went to 23.

Par 3

Saturday saw the monthly Par 3 event run and was won is style by stalwart of the event Shane Cooper with a par round off the stick. Shane managed 2 birdies to balance his 2 bogies and finished up with a nett 19 for the day. The handicapper will be visiting you Shane before the next round on Feb 11.

Notices: This Saturday is the much anticipate Working Bee with volunteers asked to lend a hand for some of the day between 6am and 2pm. Just turn up at the clubhouse or compound with gloves, old clothes and possibly a shovel and find out where you can help out. Thanks to all of the volunteers who have toiled in the sun recently to get the course looking so good. Anyone who can offer a trophy donation for the Sunday comps for 2017 please see someone at the clubhouse to make arrangement. Vouchers for $30, $25, $20 and $15 are greatly appreciated. Pennants commences Jan 29, players please contact R Turner regarding your availability.

Sunday Competition

Showing no mercy to the Tully course Gary Spence tore it up on his way to 44 points in Sunday’s stableford event. Nearest challenger was Shane Cooper on 38 closely followed by Phil Elliott and Alan Bill each on 37. Shane also took the mystery holes prize on countback for his 8 points on the Millenium Windows 1st, RSM 7th and Capital Country Plumbing 18th holes. Nearest the pins went to Tom Heath on the 5th (Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10), Russell Lieschke 7th (RSM) and Gary Spence 8th (Worker’s Club) .

Notices: R Nunn was the $100 lucky number winner. This Saturday is the monthly social event of the Par 3 event for all players with or without golfing ability. Tee from 8am to 3pm. Sunday Jan 8 is a stroke event. Saturday Jan 14 is a working bee for all available to assist anywhere between 6am and 2pm – if possible bring trailers, shovel and plenty of energy as we try and spruce up the course a bit. Anyone who can donate a trophy for the Sunday or Par 3 events  for 2017 please put your name down on the sheet in the clubhouse.

Goulburn Soldiers Weekly Competition

An eagle on the 3rd hole (par 5) and several birdies saw Lachlan Bill secure a win last week in the 12 hole competition as he shot 2 under off the stick for his 28 points. John Smith made 27 followed by the 26 point group of Brian Mills, Alan Bill, Joy Leary and Di Schmitt. The 12 hole event is great through summer to get in a game and get out of the sun quickly and you can play any day of the week.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Weekly Competition

In a high scoring round with great course conditions Russell Lieschke won with 27 points to take home the $25 voucher after nudging out playing partner Eddie Hawkins on a countback. Don Grimston 26 and John Blair 25 were in the rundown along with Rheannah Webb on 24 on a countback. The Goulburn Soldiers weekly competition runs all through the year with great thanks for the support they give our club.

Tully is open every day through the holidays and we ask that if you would like a cart to use please ring and leave a message to book at least a day early to avoid disappointment.

Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all and thank you to all who have volunteered throughout the year to help keep our club running.

Goulburn Soldiers Weekly Competition 

Bryson Plumb proved too good in the final 6 holes to beat Don Grimston on countback for the Goulburn Soldiers Club $25 voucher last week when both scored 28 points for the 12 holes. Rheannah Webb also performed well to make 25 and Russell Schmitt and Angela Deacon both scored 24. The Soldiers club event runs every day right through the Xmas season and all players with a golflink handicap are welcome to play for just $7.

Sunday Competition

Ray Turner finished the A Grade winner and overall winner on a countback for Sunday’s Stroke monthly Medal event when he returned a nett score of 65. Phil Elliott (69) and Ron Nunn (65) won the B and C grades respectively. Nearest the pins went to Tony Clewett on the 5th, Don Grimston won the 7th and Ron Nunn the 8th sponsored by Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10, RSM and Goulburn Workers Club.  Included in the rundown were R Lieschke 65 and Don Grimston 68.

Notices: Pennants for the B grade team commences Jan 29 as Tully play Fairbairn at Gungahlin Lakes arrive at 11.10 to tee off 11.40. Players please contact the team captain, Ray Turner, regarding availability. A copy of the schedule is at the clubhouse. Gala Day

Jackpot goes off on Gala Day along with Bi- Rite Xmas draw. Eddie Sivell won the jackpot for the nearest the pins on 2 out of 3 of the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10, RSM and Workers Club 5th, 7th and 8th holes. It had been building up weekly for 85 weeks before Eddie managed the best shots on the 7th and 8th holes. Eddie was also part of the winning ambrose team with Tom Heath and Brian Mills on 53.83. Next best were John Blair, Eddie Hawkins and Russell Lieschke on 54.5 and Gary Spence, Chris Elliott and Phil Elliott took third on 56.3. Berryl Gray won the ladies n-t-p on the 5th.

The Bi-Rite $500 voucher was won by Anne Piggott in the big Xmas guessing competition, B Plumb took second prize valued at $200 and D Grimston third with the $100 Merino fuels voucher.  R Webb won the drinks voucher draw.

Notices: Sunday Dec 18 – Stroke Monthly Medal, (following Sunday is Xmas). The Goulburn Soldiers Club weekly event runs everyday through the Xmas season for the 12 hole stableford.

Goulburn Soldiers Competition

Last weeks winner on countback was Don Grimston with 27 points who made a 4 pointer in the last few holes to edge in front of Ron Nunn also on 27. Tony Clewett and Ian Peterson both made 26 for the rundown.

Rheannah Webb received the Barry Pengelly ‘Junior of the Year’ award at the juniors presentation day on Saturday Dec 3.

On Saturday Rheannah also received the awards from the Tully Park Ladies for; Biggest handicap reduction through the year -12 shots,  best Gross on the inland course and best Nett on the River course for the division 2 eclectic prizes. This caps off a big year for Rheannah as she was also part of the winning junior pennants team for the ACT Monaro District earlier in the year and is ready to join the combined Tully Park /Gold Creek team again next year.

Par 3

Jaemin was the Par 3 junior winner with a nett score of 17 for the 9 holes and Jeanelle Slater won the adult division with nett 16. This great event will return in 2017 on the second Saturday each month with the first scheduled for Jan 7. All people new to golf and regulars are welcome to attend with tee of from 8am to 3pm.

Sunday Competition

The 4 Ball Best Ball Stableford event was won by Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins with a total of 49 points for the day. Eddie contributed well with 44 individual points on the day. Tony Clewett and Shane Cooper made 47 to be placed second for the round while Bryan Norris and Josh Cooper made 46. Being the Captains v Presidents day saw the Presidents team winners with 225 points to the Captains 216. Nearest the pins went to Ken Wray on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole while Brian Mills and Tom Heath took out the RSM and Workers Club sponsored holes.

Notices: Next Sunday (Dec 11) is Gala Day for the members with a 3 Person Ambrose due to hit off at 8am in a shotgun start. Cost is $15 /person for those who have played at least 10 competition rounds through the year and $25 for those who have played less. Presentation of the years trophies will be after the lunch at 12.30 (approx.). Thanks to the volunteers who have given up their time recently on the course and around the clubhouse your efforts are applauded by all.

Goulburn Soldier Club

Ron Nunn took out the 12 hole comp last week with an excellent 30 point round. Regulars of the competition Tony Clewett and Don Grimston were second and third with 27 and 24. This competition will run right through the Christmas season and is great fun for golfers starting out in competition.

Sunday Competition

Ken Wray set the course on fire with a seven under round of 61 nett to take out the Gold Medal Playoff for 2016 and win the November Monthly Medal for the B grade.  Tom Heath and Brian Mills (on countback) both scored 65 to take out the A and C grade respectively and all three will now go into next years playoff list. The ball rundown for the day included Tony Clewett 65, John Smith and Chris Elliott 66 and Phil Elliott 67. Brian Norris picked up a $20 voucher for his 2 nearest the pins on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 and RSM 5th and 7th holes while Tony Clewett picked up the Workers Club 8th.

Notices : Sunday Dec 4 4BBB Captain v President. Raffle tickets for Gala Day are required to be in by Dec 11 so please get them in sooner rather than later to make it easier for the committee. Gala Day is a 3 person Ambrose costing $15 for members with more than 10 comp games for the year and $25 for those with less than 10.  Tee off is a shotgun start at 8am. The final par 3 for the year is on this Saturday (Dec 3) with tee off from 8am to 3pm. Thank you to all the volunteers for your help over this past warm week.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club Competition

Tony Clewett scored 26 points last week to take out the $25 Goulburn Soldier Club prize. Hot on his heels were Berryl Gray and John Peterson both o 25 and Don Grimston on 24. With daylight now around so late this is a great competition for all golfers to enjoy after work or on the weekend and only costs $7 for the 12 hole event.

Juniors

Tully juniors had a coaching day last Saturday with prizes for best chipping to Cathal Carragherand chipping and putting to Rheannah Webb. This Saturday is the final hit for the year with the Par 3 event teeing off at 8.30.

2 Person Ambrose Charity Event

For a small volunteer club Tully proved it’s worth by raising  a total of $2422 for the Goulburn  and District Prostate Support Group ($500) and Goulburn Community Health ($1922). Tully would like to thank the golfers and hackers who supported the day coming from as far away Nowra and Bathurst to enjoy the day. Also the following local businesses who chipped in with prizes and money; Woolworths Goulburn, Coles Goulburn, Bunnings Goulburn, marketplace BWS, and Rick’s Trees.

Winning teams for the day were Mens: Mick Kadziela and Mark Geale on 58, Social: Josh Cooper and Tom Dwyer 64.25,  Mixed: Anthony and Kerrie Cooper on 68.5 and Juniors: Richie and Lachlan Jiang on 86. Nearest the pins went to Tony Clewett on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 5th and Don Grimston on RSM 7th.

Notices: Thank you to all of the volunteers for their help in preparing the course and clubhouse for the event, your efforts are greatly appreciated and contributed to such a great day. Next Sunday Nov 27 is the Stroke monthly medal along with Gold Medal Playoff for 2016. Gala Day for the members is Nov 11, those who have played 10 or more comp rounds through the year pay $15 for the game and lunch, those members  with less than 10 pay $25/person for the 3 person Ambrose. Gala day tickets for the $500 Bi-Rite voucher need to be returned by Dec 11.

27 was the winning score for Don Grimston last week in the 12 hole event. John Peterson 26 was next best in with Ron Wenban third on 23. The rundown went to the three players on 22.

Jack Chamberlain and Henry Vandeven were the stableford winners for the junior event on Saturday. This week is a coaching session from 8.30 to 10.30 with the presentation day the following Saturday (Dec 3) with the Par 3 event. Cost $7
