Sunday Competition

Russell Lieschke was returning to his best with a win in the stroke event on Sunday with a nett 67 while also taking the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole. Ron Nunn was next best on 68 with Chris Ryan 69 (and drive and pitch winner on the Millenium Windows 1^st hole) just ahead of Ken Wray and Tom Heath both on 70.

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Russell Lieschke took the weekly double with a win in the 12 hole event last week with 27 points. Ron Nunn was again unlucky to be pushed into second place on 25 along with Don Grimston. John Blair made 23 and Greg Maskill and Tony Clewett both returned 22 points for the rundown.

 Par 3

The January Par 3 event was well supported last Saturday with 34 players having some fun in the ever changing weather conditions. Many were first time players from the MBK under 13 soccer team and it was Kilke Leten proving she has what it takes scoring a nett 17 to win the junior $25 prize for the round. The adults section saw several of the MBK under 13 team’s parents joining in as well but it was another newcomer to golf who stole the show. Kiley Lidgard produced an excellent nett 16 to win the adult section of the comp. The next Par 3 will be played on Feb 10.  

Sunday Competition
Don Grimston powered through the heat on Sunday to finish with 39 points just ahead of John Smith and Russell Lieschke, both on 38. Graham Tasker was consistent with 36 and won the nearest the pin for the Goulburn produce and Mitre 10 hole while Gary Spence made up the rundown after a countback on 34 and also won the nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th.

Tony Clewett showed the field how to play last week with 30 points for the 12 hole event in a high scoring round. Eddie Hawkins and Ron Nunn each made 29, while Brian Larkin scored 28. Greg Maskill is getting his game together for consistency making 27 and Russell Lieschke had 26. Russell Schmitt scored and eagle on the Merino Fuels 3rd.

Sunday Competition

Jeremy Harrison finished in front after a three way countback on nett 63 on Sunday to win the trophy (donated by K Bensley) and be the final stroke and B Grade monthly medal winner for 2017.  Gary Spence was the A Grade winner and new member Bill Brodie was the C grade winner with both also on 63. The rundown for the day included Tony Clewett 64, Graham Tasker 64, Kerry Bensley 65 and John Smith 67. Tom Heath was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th and John Smith scored the drive and pitch on the Carpet Court 16^th.

Alan Bill took the honours last week for the 12 hole comp with 29 points. Next best was Chris Webb on 25 followed by Ron Nunn on 24 and Russell Schmitt on 23. This great competition plays all through the festive season with thanks to the Goulburn Soldiers Club for their prize voucher each week.

Sunday Competition

A hole-in-one by Gary Spence on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 fifth hole on Sunday helped him on his way to 38 points but was not enough to give him a win in the stableford event.  That honour went to Josh Cooper who mastered the warm conditions well to score 40 points, just ahead Russell Schmitt on 39, Alan Bill and Chris Webb both on 37. Mick Harris rounded off the rundown on 36 on countback as well as winning the Kev’s Quality Meats drive and pitch on the 12^th. The mystery holes winner after a four way countback was Tony Clewett on 8 points for the Antony Autos 2^nd, Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 fifth and Kev’s Quality meats 12^th.

John Peterson stormed home with 28 points last week for the win with Russell Lieschke on 26, Eddie Hawkins 25, Bryson Plumb 23 and both Tony Clewtt and Don Pennay on 222 on countback making up the rundown. Don Grimston finished a winner after countback on +4 for the Par event as all players got out early to beat the heat. Eddie Hawkins and John Smith also finished with +4, while Ray Turner and Jeremy Harrison both made +2. John Smith was nearest the pin for the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th and Chris Ryan picked up the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13^th.

Tony Clewett came home strong with 28 points in the 12 hole comp last week to just edge out Eddie Hawkins on 27. Beryl Gray, Russell Lieschke, Tony Grimston and Bryson Plumb all managed 24 for the rundown. The 12 hole comp is a great way to get a game in that doesn’t take too long and still only costs $7

Sunday Competition

Excellent conditions for golf saw the team of Lachlan Bill, Alan Bill and Chris Webb win the 3 person ambrose with a nett score of 54. Next best were Ray Turner, John Smith and Rheannah Webb on 57 then G Spence, J Harrison and E Sivell tied for third with R Stacey, R Nunn and C Eggins on 58.   Nearest the pins went to R Stacey on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole while J Smith for the men and R Webb for the ladies won the Workers Club 8^th.

Lucky draws for the day saw the Bi Rite $500 Xmas guessing competition prize won by G Cook, the $200 hoggett went to S McDonald and the $100 Marino Fuels voucher to A Piggott. Thanks also to Raine and Horne Real Estate for their generous donation of a new golf bag which was won by C Elliott.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Russell Schmitt scraped home with a win in the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp this week with 24 points. John Smith and Greg Maskill were both close behind on 23 in a rundown that went to 22 on countback. This competition runs all through the Xmas season and is a great way to enjoy a quick round of golf with friends.

Ladies Closing Day

The final day for the ladies for 2017 saw the awarding of trophies for the year. Bev Grocott was the Gold bar winner with 80 nett after a countback over Beryl Gray. Division gross winners were Heather Buchanan 96 (div 1), Sharon Scott 104 (div 2), and Ratna Rankmore 107 (div 3). Nett winners were Bev Grocott 80 (div 1), Georgina Cook 84 (div 2) and Beryl Gray 80 (div 3). Champion of the year was Heather Buchanan and Most Improved was Sharon Scott losing 8 shots off her handicap.   

Sunday Competition

Phil Elliott and Chris Elliott teamed up to win Sunday’s 4 Ball Best Ball stableford event with 45 points just edging out Josh Cooper and trent Cooper 44, and Russell Lieschke and Gary Spence on 43 in a close field. Russell Lieschke won the nearest the pin for the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole while Anthony Cooper took the Gordon Hotel drive and pitch on the 11^th. Overall the Captain’s team redeemed themselves from last year’s loss with a score of 168 points to beat the President’s team on 158.

Ron Wenban scored a countback win over Rob Kelly in the 12 hole event last week when both finished on 28 points for the round. Ratna Rankmore and Chris Ryan were both next best on 26 and Bryson Plumb managed 25. This competition runs all through the Xmas season and is a great way to enjoy a quick round of golf with friends.

Sunday Competition

Darrell Spence is the 2017 Gold Medal Playoff champion and November Stroke competition and Monthly Medal winner for the C Grade after his exceptional round of 63 nett. A grade medal winner was Gary Spence on 68 and the B Grade went to Eddie Sivell after a countback on 68. Chris Webb 66, Tony Clewett 68 and Chris Ryan 68 were in the rundown. Tony Clewett also won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th hole while Ian Peterson took the Drive and Pitch on the Carpet Court 16^th.

John Peterson took first place in the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition last week with 25 points. Margaret Gibson was close behind on 24 and Tony Clewett 23, Russell Lieschke 23, Don Grimston 22 and Eddie Hawkins 21 made up the rundown. With daylight around until 8pm this competition is great for an after work.

 Ladies

The stroke event on Monday saw Georgina Cook the division 1 winner with nett 67 while Beryl Gray won division 2 with 78. Both ladies also won their divisions for the putting competitions.

Juniors

The Tully Park junior golfers enjoyed the Adult /Junior foursomes on Saturday with Ned and Janelle Slater coming in winners on nett 47. Nitika chandola and Chris Webb were next best on 61. Ned was also named the winner of the Max McColl Encouragement Award while Lachlan Bill was awarded the Barry Pengelly Junior of the Year in his final year as a junior. Congratulations to Tully Junior Rheannah Webb on her placing 6^th  in the Brett Ogle Junior Masters over the weekend.

Sunday Competition

The Mexican Team event was a challenge well met by the Cooper family combination of Trent Shane, Josh and Anthony as they managed a highly respectable 109 points together. Next best were the team of Russell Lieschke, Eddie Hawkins, Chris Elliott and Jeremy Harrison on 100. Don Grimston was nearest the pin for the Capital Country Plumbing 7^th and Josh Cooper was best on the Worker’s Club 8^th.

Joy Leary left everyone in her wake scoring 29 points in last weeks 12 hole event. Tony Clewett was next best on 26 with Michael Hokenhaus next on 24. The rundown went to 22.  Thank you to the Soldier’s Club for their support.

Ladies

In a double rounded competition for the Ladies last week the Captains team won the annual Captains v President 111 points to 102. Leading the way in the Captain’s win was Joy Leary on 34 points while the President’s best was Bev Grocott on 28. The Maximum 9 holes event division 1 was also won by Joy Leary on 30.66 nett while division 2 saw Ratna Rankmore scoop the pool also with 30.66.

Juniors

Tully juniors will wrap up the year this Saturday with an Adult/Junior competition followed by the presentation of the trophies for the year. Tee off at 8.30am

Charity Day

Tully Park members and guests banded together on Sunday to raise funds for the Goulburn and District Prostate Cancer Support Group and Goulburn Community Health and are proud to have raised $2245.

Winners of the 2 Person Ambrose event men’s division were Lachlan Bill and Ned Slater on 58.25, while Wayne Brown and Wade Pomery (59.25) took out the Social teams, and Chris and Bryan Norris teamed up for the Mixed teams win on 62.  Second placegetters for each division were J Harrison/ E Sivell, Tracker/ J Curry and S Cooper/ T Cooper respectively. Nearest the pins for the day went to M Kadzeila (Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10) 5^th and T Rosevear (Capital Country Plumbing ) 7^th. A full list of winners is on the clubhouse results board.

Winner of the coveted Baxter’s Shoes donation of a pair of boots was J Cooper. Thanks to Goulburn and District Prostate Cancer Support Group, Baxters Footwear, BWS, A & K Cooper, S & T Cooper and all of the members who donated prizes for the day.

Par 3

Winners of the November Par 3 event on Saturday were Beryl Howe with nett 19 and Nathan Chandola with nett 27. This was the final Par 3 for 2017 with the next one scheduled for Jan 13.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole event

Shane Cooper dominated again last week with 28 points for the 12 hole competition. Eddie Hawkins was next best on 26 and Russell Schmitt scored 25 in a rundown that went to 21on countback.

Ladies

Rain washed out last Sunday’s round for the Ladies but they should get better conditions for this Mondays event.
