Sunday Competition

Graham Tasker dominated a high scoring field with 43 points in the stableford event on Sunday just edging out Trent Cooper 41 and Sharon Scott 41. Tom James returned an equally impressive 40 followed by Ken Wray 39 in a rundown that went to 37. Phil Elliott won the Mystery Holes for September with 9 points on the BP Marino Fuels 3^rd, Aaron’s Trees 12^th and Argyle Cleaning 17^th. Russell Lieschke was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th and Adam Boxsell won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13^th.

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

With 40 players last week it was Greg Maskill who took out round 2 of the Kevin Allen Consistency Competition in a high scoring week across the board. Greg Scored a magnificent 31 points for the 12 holes and was closely followed by Eddie Hawkins on 30. The Ladies made their presence known with Sharon Scott, Georgina Cook, and Heather Buchanan all scoring 27 points along with Alan Bill. The packed rundown went to 24 on a countback.  The overall standings listed in the clubhouse window show Alan Bill in the lead on 56, Eddie Hawkins on 55 and Greg Maskill on 51. The river holes are open again so please use the access point between the plastic barriers provided and good luck for round 3.

The Ladies choice Nine stroke event last week saw Bev Grocott head up division 1 with a nett 30 and Georgina Cook  lead division 2 on 32. The rundown included Martell Maher 31, Heather Buchanan 31, Di Schmitt 32 and Sharon Scott 33.  

Notices:  September 30 Stroke Monthly Medal.  Major Championships are Oct 20, 21, 27 and 28. Sunday Competition

Malcolm Young won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole on his way to a net score of  67 for his first win at Tully Park in the Stroke event on Sunday after a countback over Phil Elliott and Tom James. Don Grimston and Ken Wray both made 68 to make up the rundown. Shane Cooper won the Drive and Pitch on the Carpet Court 16^th

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition is underway with Tracker Tahana leading the way in a high scoring round 1. Tracker scored 30 points for the 12 hole comp just pipping Alan Bill on 29, Graham Tasker and John Peterson on 28 and Brian Larkin on 27. The rundown went to 24 and the standings for each round are listed in the clubhouse window. With the walking track work passing through under the bridge an alley will be setfrom Friday for players to get over to the river holes so please use it for the safety of all.

Juniors

Nathan Chandola won the junior stableford event on Saturday with 22 points for the 9 holes. Nitika Chandola was second on 15 points.

Georgina Cook made 31 points to win division 1 in the ladies golf on Monday last week. Ruth Beveridge scored 29 for division 2. The rundown included Sharon Scott, Heather Buchanan and Beryl Gray all on 28 points.

Tracker Tahana blitzed the field on Sunday with 47 points in the stableford event ahead of another high score by Eddie Hawkins on 42 points. Alan Bill 39, Josh Cooper 38 and Russell Schmitt 38 made up the rundown. Phil Elliott was nearest the pin for the Workers Club 8^th hole while Stuart Tahana took the eagles nest on the drive and pitch Aarons Trees 12^th hole.  

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Tony Clewett played to his par for the 12 holes scoring 24 points to win on countback over new member Michael McPake. John Peterson and Don Grimston both made 23 and Lachlan Bill and Tom James were next best on 22 on countback.

 The annual Kevin Allen Consistency Competition is underway with Round 2 commencing this Friday as part of the Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition or the Sunday comp. From this Friday Sept 14 for 1 week all golfers are asked to play the inland course only. This is to allow the walking track work at the river holes to be carried out more easily. Thank you

Multiquip Par 3

Twenty –three players took part in the Multiquip Par 3 with the winners for September  Beryl Howe on countback and Ned Slater for the Adult and junior sections respectively both with 24 nett.

Ratna Rankmore returned a nett 76 to win the stroke event for division 1 last Monday.  Beryl Gray won division 2 with 74 nett and took out their putting comp with 33. Bev Grocott was the division 1 putting winner with 31. In the rundown were Beryl Howe 75, Georgina Cook 84 and June Spillane 81.

Ray Turner won the Par event on Sunday with an excellent round of +6. Mark Berresford was next best on +3 with Jeremy Harrison +2, and Josh Cooper +1 all in the positive. Ken Wray and Chris Ryan both finished square with the card for their rounds. Tom Heath won the nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th and the Drive and Pitch on the Millenium Windows 1^st went unclaimed.

Russell Schmitt won the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher last week after a countback for his 26 point round. Alan Bill led the rundown also on 26 followed by Beryl Gray and Bryan Norris, both on 25, John Peterson 23 and Brian Larkin 22 on countback.

Par 3

The September Par 3 event is on this Saturday with tee off from 7.30am to 12pm. All new and regular golfers of all ages are welcome. Cost is $7 each for the $25 voucher prizes.

Joy Leary returned to form with nett 73 and 26 putts to win the division 1 stroke and putting event  on Monday. Beryl Howe was the division 2 winner with 71 nett and 29 putts. Included in the ball rundown were Ratna Rankmore 73, Georgina Cook 77 and Beryl Gray 78.

Russell Schmitt played steadily to win the Stroke event and B Grade Monthly Medal on Sunday with a 63 nett. Graham Tasker returned 64 and Tom Heath 65 (and  A Grade winner) followed by Ray Turner 67 and Chris Elliott 67 and drive and pitch winner on the Gordon Hotel 11^th . Eddie Sivell took the C Grade nett on 73. Nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7^th was Russell Lieschke.

Brian Larkin led the way with 29 points for the 12 holes ahead of a high scoring field. Don Grimston and Graham Tasker both made 27 and John Blair and Chris Ryan returned 26 each. Ned Slater rounded off the rundown after a countback and lowered his handicap yet again for his 24 points.

The stableford event last Monday saw Ratna Rankmore the best performer with 39 points to win division 1 while Beryl Howe took division 2 with 33. Georgina Cook won nearest the pin on the Capital Country Plumbing 7^th and was in the rundown on 34 followed by Heather Buchanan 30.

Life Membership Awarded

Joy Leary and Kerry Bensley were both recognised for their years of volunteer service to Tully Park Golf Club on Sunday when both were given life membership.

Ladies foursomes Championships

Over Monday and Tuesday the Tully Park Ladies played their foursomes championships. Round 1 saw Beryl Gray and Beryl Howe return 80 nett for the win and round 2 had Gerogina Cook and newcomer Jeanelle Slater come in with 78 nett. Overall winners for the two days Gross title were Judy Moran and Ratna Rankmore on 224 and the nett winners were rising junior player Elsey Slater and her partner Di Schmitt on 161. The rundown for each day were D Schmitt/ E Slater 80.5 and  J Spillane/ R Beveridge 80.5 for R1,  and R Beveridge/ J Spillane 86.5 and B Howe/ B Gray 90 for R2.  

Sunday Competition

Ken Wray dominated in the cold conditions with 39 points on Sunday followed by Jeremy Harrison 36, Don Grimston 35 and Tom James 35. Russell Lieschke won the drive and pitch on the Lee and Thomas 13^th as well as the mystery holes on the 2^nd, Goulburn Soldiers Club 9^th and Carpet Court 16^th.

Phil Elliott and Jeremy Harrison are the 2018 Foursomes Champions for 2018 after a two round total of 171. Josh Cooper and Anthony Cooper are the Net Winners after a countback for their 143. Round 1 winners were Graham Tasker and Ron Nunn on 67.5 nett while Jeremy Harrison and Phil Elliott took round 2 with 70.

The rundowns included Josh Cooper/ Anthony Cooper 69 and Alan Bill/ Russell Schmitt 72 for round 1 , and Shane Cooper / Trent Cooper 73 and Josh Cooper/ Anthony Cooper 74 for round 2. Eddie Hawkins was nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 hole.

Bryson Plumb lifted to score 27 points last week and take home the $25 Goulburn Soldiers Club voucher. Bryan Norris was again consistent with 24 followed by Greg Maskill and John Peterson both in the rundown on 21 after a countback.

Elsey Slater pulled off another win on Saturday in the Par 3 and lost more shots off her Par 3 handicap after a countback win on 21 over Beryl Gray. The next Par 3 is on September 8.

Tully Park Golf Club

Tully Park Golf Club gives welcome to PGA Golf Professional Peter Hayhoe who will be taking bookings from people for private lessons at Tully. Sunday Competition

Russell Lieschke was in form on Sunday as he won the stableford event with 40 and took home the nearest the pin on the Workers Club 8^th and the Drive and Pitch on the Carpet Court 16^th. Eddie Sivell was next best after a countback for 40 then Josh Cooper 38, Ray Turner 38 and Chris Elliott 37 made up the rundown.

4 Ball District Par Event

Sunday saw the teams of Jeremy Harrison /Gary Spence and Shane Cooper /Trent Cooper play at Fairbairne for the 4 Ball Par district final. Both teams found the course tough with results of -1 and -6 respectively in an event where positive scores are sought.

An eagle by Bryan Norris on the Classique Chemdry 10^th hole secured him a win with 27 points last week closely followed by Mark Berrisford 26, Martell Maher, Tony Clewett and Ron Nunn all on 25 points and Sharon Scott rounding out the rundown with 21 on countback..

Notices: August 12 is the annual Foursomes championships with both rounds 1 and 2 being played on the day with a lunch included in the $30/person with tee off for all players at 7.30. Players are reminded you can beat the winter frosts for non-championship rounds by playing on Saturdays for the Sunday competition.  The Annual General Meeting on August 19 at 1pm agenda items and nominations for the committee are now being accepted.

Georgina Cook won division 1 with 32 points last Monday while Beryl Howe took division 2 with 33 points. Ratna Rankmore had a welcome return with nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14^th  and made it into the rundown with Heather Buchanan and June Spillane.

Sunday Competition

Ken Wray was back in form for a nett 63 in windy conditions on Sunday to win the Stroke and B Grade monthly Medal for July. Trent Cooper’s 70 won him  the A Grade while Tom James knocked more shots off his handicap with nett 66 for the C Grade medal. Phil Elliott 65 and Russell Schmitt 71 made up the rundown.

Chris Ryan was nearest the pin for the Capital Country Plumbing 7^th and Trent Cooper won the drive and pitch on the Aaron’s Trees 12^th.

Tully junior golfer Ned Slater took top honours last week for the 12 hole Goulburn Soldiers Competiton with 26 points edging out the consistently performing Margaret Gibson on a countback. Graham Tasker was next best on 23 followed, on 22, Ron Nunn, John Peterson and Don Grimston.

Players are reminded you can beat the winter frosts by playing on Saturdays for the Sunday competition.  Membership renewals are now due.  A reminder to our Keno 4 Ball Par representatives that the district round is on August 5 at Fairbairn. 42 points for Tom James saw him take the win in the stableford event on Sunday 4 ahead of second placed Trent Cooper on 38. Eddie Hawkins 37, Jeremy Harrison 37 (and drive and pitch on the Gordon Hotel 11^th), Russell Lieschke 36 and Ray Turner 34. The Goulburn Produce Mitre Ten nearest the pin on the 5^th remained elusive to all.

Juniors

Rheannah Webb played well at Murrumbidgee Golf Club in Canberra last week in the junior week of golf scoring 36 points, while Anbarasan Mitchell made an eagle and a few birdies in another junior tournament in the Penrith area.

Ladies

Joy Leary won last weeks stroke event with a net score of 72 and the putting competition with 30. Ruth Beveridge also performed well with net 79 for the round.
