Tully Park Golf 29/4/18

Sunday Competition

Jeremy Harrison put it all together well on Sunday to come in with a nett 62 to win the A Grade monthly medal and take out the Stroke event. Nick Kearns managed to win the Eagles Nest for his 2 on the Par 4 Gordon Hotel 11th and win the B Grade medal while Eddie Sivell made 68 for the C Grade medal. Ray Turner 66, Ken Wray 67, Chris Elliott 67 and Col Eggins 67 made up the rundown for the day. Tom Heath won the Workers Club 8th nearest the Pin and Ray Turner won the drive and pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st.

Tully is hosting the Highland Vets on Thursday so the course will be closed until 1pm.   

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Russell Lieschke played to 2 over for the 12 holes last week to take out the comp on 27 points. Chris Ryan and Tony Clewett both came in with 26 and Don Grimston 24. Eddie Hawkins and Graham tasker made up the rundown on 23 on countback. 

The minor championships are already underway and run until May 17. During the minor’s  all 12 hole comp players are to play from the Blue markers as the handicaps at the clubhouse are set for this course.

Notices: May 6 Stableford + Minor champ’s R2. Minor championships will begin from the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition commencing on Friday April 27 at 10am. Minor Champs can be played in conjunction with either the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp or Sunday’s 18 hole round for the 3 weeks following. Each minor Championship round will cost $15. The par 3 for May is on Saturday the 12th with tee off from 8am to 12pm.

Ladies

Joy Leary won Division 1 of the stroke event last week with nett 69. Ruth Beveridge won division 2 with nett 68. Putting for the two divisions went to Georgina Cook on 25 and Beryl Howe on 30 (c/b). The rundown went to nett 75.

Tully ladies play 18 hole events on Monday mornings meeting at 8.30am. Ladies also play on Tuesdays over 12 holes also at 8.30am.

Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp
A Hole –In-One on the Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 fifth hole from 128m boosted Don Grimston to 28 points for the round to take out the 12 hole event for the week. It is not the first hole in one for Don as he already has 3 on the board from 1992 and 95 and again in 2006. Malcolm Young, Russell Lieschke and Ron Nunn all finished on 23 with Eddie Hawkins and Brian larkin 22 and Greg Maskill 21 making up the rundown.
For the next 3 weeks, commencing this Friday, all 12 hole comp players are to play from the Blue markers as the handicaps at the clubhouse are set for this course.

Sunday Competition
The RSL team took the honours again with 513 points total over Tully Park on 504 in the annual 4 Ball Best Ball event. Leading the way for the RSL were Steve Apps and Wayne Murdoch on 48 points with a rundown including the teams of P Toole/L Humphries 45, D Hogan / A White 45, W Mitchell/ R Steward 44, R Gann/ I Toole 43, D Prigg/ D Andreatta 43, P Withers/ T Whitmeore 43.
Heading up the Tully Park teams were Tom Heath and Chris Ryan on 47 followed by S Cooper/ T Cooper 45, J Cooper,A Cooper 44, R Lieschke/ E Hawkins 44, P Elliott/ C Elliott 44, K Wray/ D Grimston 43 and D Spence/ K Bensley 41 (c/b).
Nearest the pins were Eddie Sivell (Capital Country Plumbing 7th), Tom Heath (Goulburn Produce Mitre 10 fifth), Roger Gann (Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th), Chris Ryan (Workers Club 8th). Drive and Pitch went to Anthony White 9Gordon Hotel 11th) and Wayne Murdoch (Lee and Thomas 13th).

Notices: April 29 Stroke Monthly Medal + Minor champ’s R1. Minor championships will begin from the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition commencing on Friday April 27 at 10am. Minor Champs can be played in conjunction with either the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole comp or Sunday’s 18 hole round for the 3 weeks following. Each minor Championship round will cost $15. The lucky number draw was won by N Slater with number 80.
Par 3
Last week saw countbacks for both the adult and junior sections of the par 3 event for April. John Beveridge won over Ron Nunn when both finished on 25 for the adults while rising star Elsey Slater took out the juniors over Nathan Chandola when both made 26 nett. The next Par 3 is on May 12.

Ladies
Joy Leary won the stableford event with 29 points and was nearest the pin as well. The rundown went to 23 points.
Tully ladies play 18 hole events on Monday mornings meeting at 8.30am. Ladies also play on Tuesdays over 12 holes also at 8.30am.

Tully Park Golf 15/4/18

Sunday Competition

Anthony Cooper and Bryan Norris fought hard in the conditions to make +7 for the Par qualifier on Sunday beating a late challenge by Shane and Trent Cooper who also finished on +7. Russell Lieschke and Tony Clewett made up the rundown after a countback on +4 in a round where all teams finished in the positive.

In tough windy conditions there was no winner for the Goulburn Soldiers Club nearest the pin on the 14th and Jeremy Harrison won the Carpet Court drive and pitch on the 16th

The keno 4 Ball representatives for Tully are the teams of Anthony Cooper and Byran Norris, and Shane Cooper and Trent Cooper.

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Mark Beresford has managed another countback win after he and Nick Kearns finished on 27 points last week. Don Grimston gave chase with 26 and Margaret Gibson performed well for her 25points. Tony Clewett, Russell Lieschke, Bryan Norris and Ron Nunn all finished on 24 for the rundown.

Notices: April 22 sees the annual Tully v RSL game at Tully. Players are asked to come a bit earlier so teams can be organised for the round. Minor championships will begin from the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole competition commencing on Friday April 27 at 10am. Minor Champs can be played in conjunction with either the 12 hole of Sunday’s 18 hole round for the 3 weeks following. Each minor Championship round will cost $15.

Junior

Tully Park will have Drummond Golf Professional James McMaster holding a junior golf coaching clinic (with only 2 places remaining) from 9.30am to 11am Thursday April 19 with a sausage sizzle after. Cost $5/junior, inquiries at Tully Park 48222828 and leave a message. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. There will be no juniors this Saturday, April 21.

 Ladies

Sharon Scott was the monthly medal winner for Division 1 with nett 77 and Ruth Beveridge won for division 2 with 62 nett. Putting wins for the round went to Di Schmitt and Beryl Gray who both finished on 29 putts.

Tully ladies play 18 hole events on Monday mornings meeting at 8.30am. Ladies also play on Tuesdays over 12 holes also at 8.30am.

Sunday Competition

Josh Cooper, Anthony Cooper and Bryan Norris made a formidable team taking out the Irish Team Event on Sunday with 118 points leaving daylight to second placegetters Don Grimston, Ken Wray and Eddie Sivell on 100 and third placed Chris Webb, Nathan Chandola and Alan Bill on 99. Gary Spence proved accurate when it counted taking both the Capital Country Plumbing nearest the pin on the 7th and Kev’s Quality Meats drive and pitch on the 12th

 Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole Comp

Ron Nun powered home to score 30 points in the 12 hole comp last week. In a good scoring round Ruth Beveridge showed what she is capable of with 27 points as did Eddie Hawkins. Bryan Norris and Don Grimston were both consistent making 26  and Chris Webb completed the rundown on 25 on countback.

Notices: Sat April 14 Par 3 all welcome with tee off from 7.30am to 12pm.  All new and experienced players are welcome. Sunday April 15 is the 4 Ball Par Qualifier round (an extra $5 entry fee for those wanting the chance to qualify). April 22 sees the annual Tully v RSL game at Tully.

Junior

This Sat is the monthly Par 3 event with all welcome to play. Come out around 8am if you want them to go with the other juniors or if you have time to take them anytime between 7.30am and 12pm.

Heather Buchanan won the ladies Division 1 with 34 points last week and Ruth Beveridge took out div 2 with 33. Heather was also nearest the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th .  The rundown included Joy Leary 33, June Spillane 29, Georgina Cook 26 and Judy Moran 26. Tully ladies play 18 hole events on Monday mornings meeting at 8.30am. Ladies also play on Tuesdays over 12 holes also at 8.30am.

Tully Park Golf Club 1/4/18

Sunday Competition

John Smith’s 43 points earned him the win for the Easter Sunday Stableford event as well as taking out the nearest the pin on the Goulburn produce and Mitre 10 fifth hole. Graham Tasker gave him a run with his 41 followed by Mark Berrisford 39 and Russell Lieschke 38. Nick Kearns made 37to take the final ball in the rundown after a 4 card countback and won the mystery holes with 8 points on the Capital Country Plumbing 7th, Classique Chemdry 10th and Professionals Real Estate 15th . Tom Heath won the drive and Pitch on the Millenium Windows 1st.

Goulburn Soldiers 12 hole competition

John Blair has scored another win with 29 points last week for the 12 hole comp. Ron Nunn and Eddie Hawkins both finished on 25 and Anthony Cooper and Judy Moran both had 24. Peter Webster and Chris Ryan both came in on 23 taking the final balls in the rundown on countback.

Notices: April 8th is the Irish teams event with teams of 3 playing together. Saturday April 14th is the next Par 3 and Sunday 15 is the 4 ball Par Qualifier (additional cost of $5 for players wishing to compete for the spots available at the regional event). April 19 has Drummond professional James McMaster (Australian fast golf representative) running a junior coaching clinic with bookings essential due to limited places. April 22 Tully vs RSL at Tully.

Juniors

Congratulations to the representatives of Tully junior golf, Rheannah Webb, Ned Slater and Nathan Chandola) for their efforts in getting the Tully / Gold Creek team into tied 4th place in the ACT Monaro pennants competition. The team was unlucky on missing the finals due to a countback but are on the way to building a better team for next year. Juniors return on Sat at 8.30am to 10am.

Ladies

Bev Grocott was the division 1 winner with 80 nett last Monday while Ruth Beveridge took out the division 2 prize on 79. Putting was won by Georgina Cook (Div 1) and Beryl Gray (Div 2) with both finishing on 32 putts.
