Goulburn Soldiers Club Competition

Another wet week for the 12 hole players as Russell Schmitt’s 26 points was again the winning score. The ladies dominated the field with good results by Berryl Gray , Rheannah Webb and Joy Leary in a rundown that went to 19 on countback. The inland course is still a good golfing challenge so come and have a go at winning the $25 voucher from the Soldiers Club.

Sunday Competition

A countback was needed to separate the leaders as Phil Elliott’s 21 on the back nine proved too good. Phil’s score of 40 was equalled by Alan Bill who, mustering up back to back birdies, was only able to head up the rundown which included Adam Boxsell on the way down to 37.

Tom Heath picked up a voucher from the jackpot pool for his two nearest the pins on the sponsored Goulburn Produce and Mitre 10 and Workers Club holes. Ian Peterson managed the third nearest the pin on the RSM Bird Cameron hole.

Notice: next Sunday (July 31) is the Stroke monthly medal. Thank you to all of the members who have pledged support for the $30 vouchers for the Sunday competition prizes, this assists us keeping the competition fees low. Anyone wishing to include themselves for this can put their name down at the clubhouse. August 6 and 7 is only a couple of weeks away for the Foursomes Championships. The AGM is on August 14 at approx. 12.30, all members are invited to attend. Committee nominations will be taken until August 7.

Pennants names are still needed to nominate a team for next years competition. Nominations have to be in and nominees must be financial to justify us entering a team.

The heavens were not kind this week washing out any play in the Goulburn Soldiers Club event. Hopefully better weather this week will allow players to get their rounds in this week.
