Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Sunday Comp was the Monthly Medal in conjunction with the final round of the Major Championships. First of all the daily results saw Brian Norris play the round of his life to have a nett 62 to win B grade, the Monthly Medal and the Gordon Hotel voucher on a count back over Brian Mills. Trent Cooper 63 and Brian Mills 62 won A and C Grade respectively. The ball run down saw Don Grimston 63, Shane Cooper 64 and Ian Peterson 66 all collecting a ball.

Saturdays results saw Phil McGurk 66 win on a count back in A Grade, Eddie Sivell 63 won B Grade and Brian Mills 64 cleaned up C Grade.

Next week the Gordon Hotel Competition will be a Stableford.

 

Major Championships

The Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club’s Major Championships drew to a close on Sunday after 4 rounds of golf. The course was in outstanding condition thanks to the many volunteers spending their time to maintain the course everyone appreciates their efforts. 

The results were:

A Grade

Gross- Trent Cooper 313

Nett- Tom Heath 273

B Grade

Gross- Brian Norris 325

Nett- Ian Peterson 263

C Grade

Gross- Brian Mills 352

Nett- Shane Cooper 270

 

Well done men it’s a big effort to put four good rounds together and claim the championship.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

The highly coveted 12 hole mid week competition was won by Bryson Plumb with an impressive 27 points to claim the Goulburn Soldiers Club Voucher on a count back over Bryan Larkin. Don Grimston 26, Joy Leary 25, Marty Hunter 25 and Ratna Rankmore 24 all picked up a ball. Well done to all those who took part. Come down during the week for the 12 hole comp for only $7.

Major Championships

The weekend saw the first 2 rounds of the Major Championships completed with the course in great condition and you couldn’t have asked for better weather on Saturday however mother nature kept everyone on their toes bringing a cool change and cloudy conditions for Sundays round.

The round 1 nett winner for the day was Tom Heath with 63, this saw him also leading A grade. Josh Cooper and John Duncan both with 64 won B and C Grade respectively both on a count back.

Round 2 was the Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition with club President and part time lion tamer Shane Cooper turning on a show to win the day with a blistering 62 nett to win on a count back over Ron Nunn and claim the C Grade honors for the day. Russ Lieschke and Josh Cooper both had 67 to claim A and B Grade honors for the day. Nearest to the pins were on the Goulburn Produce 5th Tom Heath the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th Chris Elliott and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Simon Jiang.

At the half way point the leaders are;

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by Don Grimston with 26 points on a count back. Joy Leary 26, John Peterson 25, Eddie Hawkin 25, Margaret Gibson 23, Brian Larkin 23, Graham Cave 23 and Ratna Rankmore 22 c/b all picked up balls in the run down. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a 4 Ball Best Ball competition taken out by Ian and Kevin Peterson with 48 points. The ball rundown saw Don Grimston, Mick Harris, Brian Larkin, Ray Grant, Chris Elliott and Phil Elliott all grabing a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Trent Cooper the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th went to Col Eggins and on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Chris Elliott.

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by John Peterson  with 29 points. Bryson Plumb 27, Kevin Peterson 25, Don Grimston 25, Simon Jiang 25, Russ Schmitt 25, Joy Leary 25 and Chris Webb 25 all picked up balls in the run down. The ball rundown saw Phil Elliott 39, Don Grimston 39, Trent Cooper 38, Rheannah Webb 38, Gary Spence 38 and Kevin Peterson 37 all grabing a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Eddie Hawkins and on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Marty Hunter.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was the Monthly Medal stroke and was taken out by Russ Leischke with a nett 62 to also win A Grade. Ian Peterson 70 and Ron Nunn 69 on a count back won B and C Grade respectively. The ball rundown also saw Trent Cooper 66, Shane Jervis 66, Tom Heath 68, Gary Spence 68, Don Grimston 69 and Ron Nunn 69 grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Col Eggins the Goulburn Farm Machinery 7th went to Russ Lieschke. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is Stableford competition.
