Tully Park News 31-05-2015

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was the Monthly Medal stroke and was taken out by Chris Webb with a nett 63 to also win C Grade. Marty Hunter 64 and Roy McNair 64 won A and B Grade respectively. The ball rundown also saw Mick Gray 64, Trent Cooper 66 Kerry Bensley 66 and John Smith 67 grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went Russ Lieschke the Tully Park 7th went to Tony Clewett and on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th Eddie Sivell knocked it the closest. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is Stableford competition.

On Saturday Tully Park Golf Club will hold a 9 hole par 3 competition. Social players are welcome its great for anyone who wants to a quick round with plenty of fun to be had. Tee times are between 9am and 3pm.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by R Booth with 17 points on a count back over B Gray. J Leary rounded out the ball run down with 16. H Carne also picked up a ball for her efforts with 10 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a 4 Ball Best Ball in conjunction with a qualifying round for the New South Wales Fourball Championships. The winners on the day were Phil and Chris Elliott with 44 points this sends the pair through to Fairbairn Golf Club for the regional qualifier. Ron Nunn and Ross Stacey also qualified with 43 points in a count back over Ken Wray and Tony Clewett. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Anthony Cooper the Tully Park 7th went to Phil Elliott and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was Eddie Sivell. Next Sunday is the Monthly Medal Stroke Competition.

 

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by Michael Hyland with 23 points. John Peterson 22, Darrell Spence 21, Joy Leary 19 and Russ Schmitt 19 all collected a ball for their efforts. Don Pennay also picked up a ball for his efforts with 9 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week Tully Park Golf Club hosted a 2 person ambrose with a bumper turnout and a lot of prizes on offer for Mens, Mixed and Social divisions. The course is in great condition and once the fog cleared it was an awesome day for golf. The results are as follows.

The ball run down saw Shane Jervis, Anura Tahana, Simon Jiang, Col Eggins, Alan Gray, Nathan Chandola, Ian Peterson, Kevin Peterson, Rob Channing and John Parent all grabbing a ball for their exploits.

With a heap of nearest to the pin prizes on offer the winners were Josh Cooper, Dave Gray, Ron Wenbon, Kerry Bensley, Beryl Howe, Jason Briggs and Craig Langby.

The committee would like to thank everyone who donated prizes for the day and those who gave up their time to prepare the course and put on a great lunch for all our golfers. It is a great testament to our club that we can produce such a quality golf course on the back of our many volunteers. Anybody wishing to get outside and volunteer some time should talk to a committee member and they will organize something that you can do.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stroke and was taken out by Eddie “The Colonel” Sivell with an impressive score of nett 67 on a count back over Chris Webb, Eddie and Chris were the only players to beat their handicap in gale force conditions that got the best of most of the field. The ball rundown saw Russ Schmitt 69, Brian Mills 70 and Ken Wray 71 all grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Trent Cooper the Tully Park and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was taken out by Russ Schmitt.

Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a 2 person ambrose with heaps of prizes for mens, mixed and social divisions. Tee off is between 7-9am.

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stroke and was taken out by Shane “Eagle Eye” Jervis with an impressive score of nett 64. The ball rundown saw Anura Tahana 65, Chris Webb 65, Russ Schmitt 67, Marty Hunter 67 and Darrell Spence 68 all grab a ball. Nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Produce 5th went to Ray “Tonk” Turner the Tully Park 7th went to Ken Wray and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th was taken out by Anura Tahana. Next week the Gordon Hotel Sunday comp is a stroke comp in conjunction with the second round of the minor championships.

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken won by Don Grimston with 25 points. John Smith 24, Grahame Cave 23 and Wally Thorn21 all picked up balls in the run down. Helen Carne grabbed a ball with 2 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

 

Par 3 Competition

The 9 hole par 3 competition is growing in popularity with a good turn out this month with everyone having a good time with some great results to show for it. Michelle Sullivan made the most of her generous social handicap after a few years out of the game to shoot the course to bits with a nett 14 that is sure to grab the attention of the club handicapper. Second place was a distant 9 shots behind with a tie between father and son Anthony and Josh Cooper both with nett 23 Joy Leary also had a good day out with a nett 24.

 

Keno Mixed 4BBB 

On Saturday Tully Park hosted a qualifying round for the Keno Mixed 4BBB with the winners to progress through to the regional round at Yass Golf Club. The results were tight with representative honors on the line, this saw Shane Jervis and Debbie Collins beat Shane Cooper and Joy Leary on a count back with 43 points. Shane and Debbie will represent Tully Park Golf Club on the 14th of June at Yass to try and progress through to the next round.
