Tully Park News 23-11-2014

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stableford with Russell Schmitt beating out Peter Courts on a count back with 44 points to take home the Gordon Hotel voucher this week. The ball run down went to Chris Webb 43, Adam Boxsell 42, Ray Turner 42 and Trent Cooper 42. The nearest to the pins went to Russell Schmitt on the Tully Park 7th and Tom Heath on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th.

Next week will be the Monthly Medal along with the Gold Medal playoff for those who qualified. Good luck.

Goulburn Prostate Cancer Support Charity Day

Tully Park Golf Club held the Goulburn Prostate Cancer Support Group 2 man ambrose with a good field coming out to support a good cause. The results were;

The raffle was a huge success thanks to the generous donations made by; Southern Meats, Magnet Mart Home Timber and Hardware, Days Industrial and Building Supplies, Goulburn Tyre Centre, Heritage Country Meats, South West Pest Control, The Gordon Hotel, Southern Plumbing Supplies, Classique Chemdry and our Tully Park Members. Apologies if anyone has been forgotten.

A special thanks goes to Russell and Di Schmitt who did an amazing job organising much of the days proceedings the club appreciates all your efforts.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition was taken out by John Gegg with 32 points giving him the highly sort after voucher from the Goulburn Soldiers Club. Darrel Spence 25, Tony Clewett 25, Trent Cooper 23, Shane Jervis 23 and Bryson Plumb rounded out the ball run down. Kevin Peterson grabbed a ball with 11 points. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Stableford that also doubled as the Gordon Shield Final. The weather was anything but ideal with only the toughest of men daring to venture onto the course. Club legend Brian Mills showed no fear in the eye of the conditions and blitzed the course with 41 points to win the day by 8 and claim the Gordon Shield for 2014, Brian also claimed the nearest to the pins on both the Goulburn Produce sponsored 5th and the Goulburn Workers Club 8th just to prove he means business. The ball run down saw Roy McNair 33, Trent Cooper 33, Tom Heath 31 and Simon Liang 31 collect a ball. Next Sunday will be a Stableford Overs vs Unders so come down and represent your age group.

Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club are delighted to announce that Brian Mills has been offered and accepted the role of Club Patron. With Brian being around the club for a “little” while he knows a thing or two and will no doubt play a valuable roll for the club. Thank you Brian.

This week the Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition had a bumper field this week with Ratna Rankmore blitzing the course to score an incredible 33 points and take home the highly sort after voucher from our generous sponsor. Mick Hyland was unlucky with 32 points normally more than enough to claim the win. Bryson Plumb 29 and John Peterson 28 rounded out the ball run down with Helen Carne collecting the special ball with 11. Come down during the week for a hit the comp only costs $7.

This Saturday is the 2 Man Ambrose for the Goulburn Prostate Support Group so come down and have a hit for a good cause no handicap required.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Competition was a Canadian Foresomes the scene for some good golf and big laughs. The team who dealt with the course and the competition to claim the win were Roy McNair and Mick Gray with 64 3/4 well done chaps your in for a treat at the Gordon Hotel with that voucher. The ball run down saw Eddie Hawkins and Russ Leischke 67 3/4, Adam Boxsell and John Smith 68 1/4 and Shane and Trent Cooper also with 68 1/4. John Smith claimed the nearest to the pin on the Goulburn Soldiers Club 14th. Chris and Rhiannah Webb claimed the special ball with 89 1/2.
Next Sunday will be a Stableford event that will double as the Gordon Shield Final.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

This week the coveted Goulburn Soldiers Club 12 hole stabelford competition saw some incredible scoring with Wally Thorn winning on a count back with 29 points over John Petterson. Rose Booth and Don Grimston claimed a ball with 25 points each. Helen Crane collected the special ball with 9 points.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Midweek Competition

Lady’s club Captain Joy Leary has produced an outstanding round of golf to claim last week’s 12 hole stableford midweek competition proudly sponsored by the Goulburn Soldiers Club. Joy amassed 30 stableford points around the challenging Tully Park layout to outclass the rest of the field. Brian Larkin and Gary Spence were the next best with both gentlemen carding a respectable 26 stableford points. Helen Carne’s 7 points was enough to claim the week’s special ball rounding out the week’s ball run down.

Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club held another round of the Kevin Allen Memorial for the clubs most consistent golfer for 2014 last Sunday. Brian Mills’ 43 stableford points proved to be too great a total for the remainder of the field to overcome. Graham Cave (42), Eddie Hawkins (38), Shane Cooper (38), Ron Nunn (37), Roy McNair (36), and Ray Turner on 35 stableford points rounded out the day’s ball run down. Nearest the pin on the Goulburn Produce sponsored 5th hole went to Brian Mills and the Drive and Pitch on the Kev’s Quality Meats sponsored 12th hole was won by Graham Cave. Nearest the Pin on the Goulburn Workers Club sponsored 8th hole was claimed by Don Grimston. Sunday’s progressive winner was Ken Wray with a total of 59 points. Next Sunday’s event is a Canadian Foursomes so partner up and come on down to Tully for an enjoyable day’s golf.
