Gordon Hotel Sunday Competition

This week the Gordon Hotel Sunday Comp was the Monthly Medal in conjunction with the final round of the Major Championships. First of all the daily results saw Anthony Cooper with a nett 64 win the Monthly Medal and the Gordon Hotel voucher on a count back over Roy McNair and Darrell Spence. The ball run down saw Tim James 65, Russell Schmitt 67, Phil Elliott 68, Tony Clewett 68 and Peter Courts 69 on a count back all collecting a ball. Marty Weise collected the special ball.
The grade results were:
A Grade
Gross- Lachlan Bill 74
Nett- Gary Spence 69
B Grade
Gross- Eddie Sivell 88 on a count back
Nett- Marty Hunter 65
C Grade
Gross- Darrell Spence 89
Nett- Anthony Cooper 64 on a count back
Well done gentlemen next week the Gordon Hotel Competition will be a Stableford.

Major Championships

The Tully Park Early Birds Golf Club’s Major Championships drew to a close on Sunday after 4 rounds of golf. The course was in great condition thanks to the many volunteers spending their time to maintain the course everyone appreciates their efforts. The rain stayed away over the 4 days with the wind picking up on the final day to give the golfers an extra challenge.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

The highly coveted 12 hole mid week competition was won by Tony Clewett with an impressive 28 points to claim the Goulburn Soldiers Club Voucher. Don Grimston, Brian Larkin and John Peterson all collected a ball with 21 points while the special ball went the way of Don Pennay with 14. Well done to all those who took part. Come down during the week for the 12 hole comp for only $7.

With a lot of golf still to play the divisions are far from sorted with chances available to snatch the lead and take out the Championships in all the grades. Stay posted next week for the final results.

Goulburn Soldiers Club Mid Week Competition

The miserable weather early in the week kept the field a bit lower than usual, however this didn’t deter the stalwarts John Peterson and Donald Grimston having cracker rounds each carding an impressive 27 stableford points in the 12 hole comp with John taking the coveted Soldiers Club voucher this week in a count back. Brian Larkin also collected a ball with 22 points. Don Pennay didn’t leave empty handed with this weeks special ball for 15 points. Come down during the week for a tilt in the 12 hole comp for a measly $7.

Ron Power Memorial 4BBB Tully Park Early Birds vs Goulburn Workers

Tully Park Early Birds hosted the Goulburn Workers Club in the annual Ron Power Memorial 4BBB on Sunday in great conditions for golf. The results were a testament to all the volunteers keeping the course in great condition. The Early Birds grabbed a narrow win over the visitors with the day enjoyed by all.  The Individual results saw Brian Mills and Tom Heath 48 taking out the day with Brian Dell and Simon Grant topping the Workers boys with 47 the ball run down was as follows, Kerry Fitzsimmons and Ben Rice 47, Don Grimston and Ken Wrey 46, Russell Lieschke and Eddie Hawkins 45, Josh Cooper and Anthony Cooper 45, Eddie Anning and Ray Turner 44 rounding out with Chris Elliott and Ben Elliott 44. The least amount of putts went to Brian Larkin with 28 on a count back, nearest to the pins went to Russell Lieschke on the Goulburn Produce 5th and Don Grimston on the Tully Park 7th. Well played lads.
We look forward to seeing the Workers boys around the course in the future.

This weeks 12 hole stableford competition was taken out by Tony Clewett with 23 in a count back over Bryson Plumb with Brian Larkin and Kerry Bensey rounding out the ball run down with 21 points. The special ball went to Don Pennay with a well made 14. Come down during the week and have a hit in the comp for $7.

Gordon Hotel Lilac Open

Sunday saw Tully Park Gof Club host the Lilac Open sponsored by our friends over at the Gordon Hotel. Don Grimston came away with the overall win with a nett 60 to also claim B Grade honors. Gary Spence 63 and Tony Boyd 68 took out A and C grade respectively. The ball run down was as follows with; Gary Spence 63, Marty Hunter 66, Tony Clewett 68, Tony Boyd 68, Tom Heath 67 and Russell Lieschke with 70 on a count back. Nearest tho the pins went to John Smith on the Goulburn Produce 5th and Gary Spence on the Goulburn Workers Club 8th.
Next Sunday will be the 4BBB Stableford Ron Power Memorial seeing Tully Park Early Birds vs The Goulburn Workers Social Club.  

Super-Schmitt Saturday 2 Man Ambrose

Russ and Di Schmitt organised and ran a spectacular competition on Saturday in glorious conditions with a bundle of prizes on offer for the serious and casual golfer alike.
The men’s competition saw Tom Heath and Chris Ryan take the win with 61 in a count back over 2nd placed Shane Jervis and Josh Cooper with Shane and Anthony Cooper collecting 3rd with 61 1/4.
The results for the mixed competition were Russ Schmitt and Joy Leary taking the win with 67 1/4 over Mick Gray and Lara Miller 70 1/2 and 3rd going to Rhiannah Webb and Laurie Vandeven with 78 1/4.
Social players also enjoyed the day and the results were Kerry Bensey and Simon Jang with 62 taking out the comp ahead of Mark Stephenson and Chris Webb 66 then Jason Briggs and Greg Critchlow with 66 1/2. Nearest to the pins went to Trent Cooper on the 5th and Glen Bennett on the 14th.
All prizes are available from the club house.

The fine weather this week saw plenty of golfers having a tilt at this weeks 12 hole competition. Joy Leary grabbed the win this week with 24 points in a count back over Don Grimston. John Peterson and Marty Hunter rounded out the ball run down with 22 points. The special ball went to H Crane with a well made 6 points. Come down during the week for a shot at the Soldiers Club voucher.
